Jiraiya needs to go out with some GAR. If he's going to die, let's have him blow the shit out of the Rain Village. He's a legendary ninja for god sakes. Then again, look at Orochimaru's death.

It would be nice to see Jiraiya pulling off a Deidara, to kill Pein, he has to kill himself too. Like send Gamabunta right on top of him and Pein. I want to see an epic battle, not just Pein instantly jobbing Jiraiya.

With Kishimoto's set up, its impossible for someone else to take another person's role with out death involved.

We dont know anything about Pein for all we know he could be more powerful then any ninja we seen.

Sasuke will sacrifice his body to Orochimaru to kill Itachi, creating a weird fusion of the 2 characters.

I'm pretty doubtful Pein's rival will be anything special. And he may not even be an enemy considering he's fighting against the leader of Akatsuki, even though he doesn't know it.
Looks like Jiraya's going down to Pein, so now Naruto will have to avenge him. I wouldn't be surprised if Blue Hair kills Tsunade so that Sakura has to avenge her. That would be nearly at the end, though, since that opens up the Hokage position for Naruto. Of course, that would mean Sakura actually does something, so maybe that isn't very likely.
meh by the end of the series Madara is either going to fuse with this demon thing they're trying to resurrect or Sasuke is going to kick Madara's ass and fuse himself with the demon just so he can become all powerful and crap.
Then Kishimoto will bring about the message that too much power is bad for you by having Naruto kick his ass.

Isn't this "demon thing they're trying to resurrect" something made up by fans? Akatsuki's goal is to control the world by causing wars with the tailed beasts and all that junk.
EDIT: Yeah, I think the "demon" is just an urban legend, like the "when you eat two Devil Fruits the second power replaces the first yeah Oda said so" myth.
You never know. It's not like it's impossible for Kishimoto to pull something like that. Especially if it's done to make Sasuke into this all powerful final villain who kills Kakashi in one hit or something.

Well, what sucks about this is obvious, but what's good is it might mean that the rookie nine will rise to the occasion. Imagine, Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke badass. Well, Sasuke will just be pedo-badass or whatever Orochimaru was–he was kind of lame for a sanin.
Of course, history repeating itself would suck. Sure, it means that Lee will become the strongest jounin, and Tenten will be bumped up to Anko levels of screentime–but it makes for a cliche ending. Still, hopefully something changes, even Sasuke not becoming the next Orochimaru would be nice.

I doubt Jiraiya's death would be an all-out-smackdown by Pein so he should die with some style. I doubt it will be as close as Sasuke vs. Deidra but Jiraiya should throw out some stuff we've never seen before. Sad to see him go, but if his death changes the course of the manga I'm all for it.
