I am not young(see profile)… And I explained already why in the manga thread...the drawings are old scrap drawings from 2-3 years ago..I just got back to drawing.

I never used a drawing book. I usually just look at Manga to help me out when I get stuck with strange angles. Good luck, though. Hope you get better. ^^

A book isn't bad, but I learned to draw my looking at One Piece (Arlong Arc Specifically). Notice he completely fleshes out the hands and face, yet it still fits them so perfectly. It's such a crazy thing how Oda draws, sometimes placing tones down for full characters and objects. And how he's able to throw things like hands and noses out there, and even if they look poorly drawn, it's still a great drawing. I can't explain it, because I never recognized One Piece for it's art until Steve Ressel told me. -.-''
Well, keep trying I suppose. A book teaches you nothing except proportion and stuff, and they're rarely visual. That's probably why I prefered just looking at art I like.

I never actually read Alabasta. I only read up to Arlong but not the arc. Then, I watched the Anime straight till Skypiea, and then watched Enies Lobby (Not in that order). I went back to Davy Back and read until Water 7 and right now am currently watching Water 7 Anime.
Of course, save for Water 7, it dawned on me that Toei sucks, so I'm currently following the English Viz Adaption in America (We're at Drum Arc). I'm really surprised how off-key the Anime was. It was really, really, bad…

The chin is very strange. Instead of making the chin line on the left side start to curve, just keep drawing it straight until it intersects with the right chin line.

You know, to hep you even more, there are "How To" books in book stores (Barnes & Nobles or Borders) that can help you dramatically. But yeah, you are showing signs of improvement by yourself.

Ha! I got some markers also, and found no good flesh color pen. I tried mixing some colors, but nothing. And it was a 74 set.

To greatly improve drawing, try working on just certain body parts, like work on ears one day, just drawy a whole bunch of ears, then noses, eyes, hands (work on those alot… they are tricky) Also, use a pencil, dont even worry about pens and markers right now. You want to be able to fix drawings. Also try shading instead of coloring right now. It will help you with line control and technique.
When you get good, I recommend getting a basic set of Copic markers, they are expenseve (about 5 dollars per marker) but they are worth it. http://www.copicmarker.com/Drawing takes time. If you work on it everyday, you can get up there with the best.
I would also recamend getting a french curve and a circle guide, cheating yes, but when you are first starting out they will help you keep things even. You can get these at any art store, or basic supply store.

the truth is I have a problem with drawing one side of things..always the right side of my characters come out perfect..but the left comes out abnormal.
and i own a How to draw manga book alrady.
Vol 1:compiling characters -
My advice to you is to study drawing in this order:
Gesture, Construction, Anatomy, Technique
Gesture is the overall action of the body, you want to capture the energy/essence of the pose. These should be real light and loose
Construction is where you start to lay in the solid forms of the body like the head/torso/hips/arms/legs
Anatomy is when you start defining clearly what's what on the body. This would be where muscles would go.
Technique is all the extra stuff that makes the drawing stand out, shading, texturing, color.I wouldn't use those "How to draw manga" books as your only reference, but would rather suggest reading books about just drawing in general. Read all kinds of books on drawing in all different styles. It's a lot easier to learn to draw with solid foundation skills and apply it to anime/manga than it is to just draw it manga style only.
You could practice one body part at a time like the previous person said, but the problem is when you want to put it all together…you will struggle unless you're really good with proportions and anatomy.
I was the same way when I started out drawing because all I ever drew was head/shoulder drawings cause I was uncomfortable drawing the whole figure. Well I got really good at drawing heads and shoulders but my full figure drawings were pretty bad.
Above all, the thing I learned most about getting good at drawing is to draw a lot. Practice practice practice. It helps to have a sketchbook, to keep all your drawings together. Don't worry about making every drawing amazing, just get something down on paper. I've learned that sometimes you have to do 10 bad drawings just to get 1 that you're happy with.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_curveAs for your lead breaking all the time, you might want to play around with different pressures applied to the paper with a pencil.
In one drawing class i took my teacher only allowed us to use an ebony pencil. Man i hate those now… but they are good pencil's to start with because they are so sensitive to pressure ( light pressure = light line Heavy pressure = heavy line).
You just kind of have to experiment.
