Brooks is a cool new nakama IMHO, the Runnings Gags with him would be very funny, he also told that someone killed him and someone other stole his shadow, so may be if he had his shadow back he join the SH to search for his murder, and please no klittle kiddie like Chibi Moon or something like that, Its awful enough if kids are in the movies and fillers of the anime.

I'm just saying it wouldn't be too hard to have a kid shed tons of blood. Though it wouldn't be a good thing for One Piece. For one thing, if a kid joins the crew. He'll make lots of fangirls. Example…how many female Bleach fans really like Hitsugaya and think hes cute?

Not only wouldn't it fit in with the Strawhat's style (let alone with their enjoyment of good grog) it would be possitively impossible for Oda to draw decent fights for that character. Have you seen the ammount of damage the Strahats sustain in each fight? Now imagine a child taking all that damage. Oda wouldn't have the heart to draw that, much less would we have the heart to read it.

Wasn't the Apis arc released as a Novel by Oda (same with the Logue Town fillers, which were storylines Oda didn't have time to fit into the series)?

Hey I'm right! But even still, Apis is a weak arc with little highlights. Apis was annoying (one of the more annoying kids in the series I found). In the end she adds nothing to the o verall storyline ('cept in the anime with the Ocean Dream arc which referenc ed her arc). Plus she looked L-A-M-E overall and had a useless DF power.

Well concidering he already did in vivis flashback, I'm afraid you're wrong about not letting adults hurt kids. Umm I really don't mind seeing beat up kids, just as bad as beat up adults.
Also for the topic about 2 people joining in one arc. I think the only way two people would join was if they were partners in battle. Some good examples are.

- Johnny and Yosaku
- Mozu and Kiwi
- Oimo and Kaashi
- Mohji and Richie
- Hotori and Kotori

If it turns out Brooke doesn't join (or anyone from Thriller Bark, for that matter), and the next Nakama is someone from Fishman island, it'll probably be a merfolk, like Camie, NOT a Gyojin. The Merfolk seem to get along with humans better than the Gyojin (though there are notable exceptions, like Tom).
Personally, I want to see a Wotan join the crew. A Wotan would be perfect for the helmsman.

I'd love to see an Arlong-style gyojin join, perhaps as a matter of being mutually screwed… the old "scorpion sitting on the back of a dog swimming across a river" thing. Maybe for navigating a section of the sea which is impassible without being able to swim ahead and below and draw a path.
Then the exciting "Well, you knew I was going to screw you over... or did you worthless humans not even get it?" moment.

I think Brooke will be like Vivi. He'll be nakama but not permanently. He just wants to find his shadow. He has no permanent long-term goal like everyone else. Luffy wants to be the pirate king. Zoro the world's greatest swordsman. Nami to draw a map of the whole world. Ussop to be a great warrior of the sea. Sanji wants to go to all-blue. Chopper wnats to become a real man/doctor/pirate. Robin wants to find the ancient stone which tells the history of the void century…
In addition, he is a swordsman. Zoro will have to defeat him. If not, Zoro's goal will be tarnished.

Also, I think the mere fact that he ate the Yomi Yomi no Mi in the first place indicates that in the event of his death, he DID want to come back to life to achieve his goal. People who finish whatever they set out to do typically don't have a reason to come back.

Umm just to through this in here. I've said this before. Not everyone knows what kind of power they got from eating a devil fruit. Like Kaku and Kalifa. So my guess is that Brooke ate his fruit, didn't know wtf it did and then died and then realized what ability he got.
Basically, Brooke at e a DF and didn't know what ability he got until his death.

1.) shy/timid => nami= VERY OUTGOING, robin=>calm

Just because brooke attacked with a sword doesn't mean he only uses swords. Thats like saying iff I kick soemone the only way I fight is by kicking. What if his cain has multiple weapons just like frankys body. I'm pretty sure his goal would just be to travel around the grand line with nakama.

And If I may point to the recent chapter in FAVOR of Brooke (I switch sides as evidence is revealed, so shoot me.), he says how delighted he is to talk to people. AKA, motive for joining = Companionship. That's as good a reason as "I want to become a pirate!" (or a 'brave man of the sea') (see: Chopper and Usopp). I like Brooke, immensely. And already he's bonding some with Robin and Franky. Hence the jokes and exasperation. If there wasn't bonding, he'd be treated like zombie-headpiece-pig.

Brook kind of reminds me of Gan Fall more than anything. Brook and him both look like they fit in a specific scenario, but would be completely out of place outside that. I can't just see the image of the SHs and Brook walking around the merman island. What are they going to do? Hide him in a cabin? I'm pretty sure people would run away as soon as they saw a skeleton walking around. The crew should already have enough limitations to their lives with the whole over-six-hundred-million-belli-bounties thing. Brook would make things even harder.
Besides, I'd say his personality is too much. What we've seen so far would indicate that he'd claim the entire spotlight, since he's constantly cracking his skull jokes, dancing circles, talking about panties, shouting for food and whatnot else. And Oda ought to run dry on those skull jokes sooner or later. We've yet to witness his musical abilities anyway. It might turn out that he sounds like Paris Hilton, which makes Luffy kick him outta Thousand Sunny before he can even blink.
But then again, he doesn't have eyelids!!

People made the same argument against Franky joining. Saying that his appearance was too freakish and inhuman.

Franky doesn't really look all that freakish to me when you compare him to most of the characters. As a matter of fact, he looks almost normal when you look at certain members of CP9 and/or Baroque Works. He looks like a somewhat common muscular guy to me. Brook stands out 500% more than he ever will.
Can't really say much about Franky otherwisely though, since by the time I actually reached reading the part with him in the series, someone had already informed me of him joining. But he did demonstrate much less quirks than Brook has done as of so far… :o
