I think the Seljuks aren't on the radar yet, at the time the manga is set. But there are probably some turkish raiders on the borders of Georgia and Armenia wrecking havoc anyway. Good enough.

Just you watch Thorfinn spend a decade in the Baltic trying to reform the Jomsvikings.

To tell the truth, while incredibly glad that the battle is over (seeing Thorkell was nice, though) I'm slightly interested in what he might do with his newly acquired commandership. There's some potential if he choses to assume the charge and use it to set himself on route to Greekland. Plus, that could go a long way towards convincing Sigurd's father that he is a worthy partner.

This manga wouldn't be half as enjoyable without Thorkell.
I'm almost relieved that some of the Jomsviking are fighting it out instead of calmly accepting the disband order. Still, that whole B war thing was quite a detour to go right back to "Pissed jealous Sigurd is after Gudrid and Thorfinn's life". I wish they'd gotten something concrete out of it

SO… The Baltic sea arc is finally, truly, very over. I hope. I hope we can finally get into Russia next and be in for some wild adventures down the great rivers. Just move things forward for the first time in 5 years or so already. (honestly I just want to see Constantinople in all its glory already, but at this pace it is going to take a good long while... Maybe we'll even see the One Piece before then...)

I don't want to be that guy but the influence of Christianity seems to be strong in some chapters.
Like I didn't do my research so I'm not sure why that's the case but it's probably prevalent.
I guess the excitement also dies from my view of the MC change.
I mean his development didn't felt off to me it just felt underwhelming and like, this dude is literally running from the people he needs to save but I guess nobody can see that.

I am utterly disappointed! Ages ago when that trip to Greece was first mentioned I was highly looking forward to it, but instead we got the Baltic and a friggin' timeskip !? Bleh.
Sigurd's epilog kinda alleviates the pain, but this feels like so much wasted potential…

The only thing that made me happy is that someone here remembered how utterly excited I was about it. I can't even describe my reaction without a long line of curse words, so I will refrain from commenting further until we get that flashback. We are getting that flashback, right? I know we are… :sad:
