Boy do I love it when I forget about a series and a whole new arc has started 
Really good arc so far, too. Thorfinn's expression when hearing Hilde's story was fantastic, and I hope this arc takes its time in exploring the various places the crew travel through (though it they're going by sea, they'll be circling around I imagine)
Only real niggle is how boring Thorfinn is. Not as a character, but as a person. Can't imagine anyone having a normal conversation with him.
Why do I have to catch up with these series when amazing things are happening. I want to keep marathoning dammit!

This whole thing somehow feels like a dick move from Yukimura against the only two norwegian women we know in this manga. In chapter 2 slavegirl Hordaland mentions to Thorfinn how cool it would be to have a land where all people live free and without war and such. An early inspiration for Thorfinns now most desired goal. Which she may never see and he, most likely, will establish in the future.
On the other hand we have Hild, who has to abandon her loooong awaited desire for revenge for the atonement of Thorfinn (who killed her family) and in the end maybe even joining the group and living the first girls dream.
So, um, I hope Yukimura remembers Hordaland, so they can pick her up on the real way to Vinland.
Publication is back on, sixth and seventh omnibus will be out later this year. If sales hold consistent with the last few books to come out, we'll continue after that.
I was just about to come here and ask about this after reading they pulled back the 6th one(which is old news by now, but I only now heard about it, wondering when Vol.6 is gonna be out). I was really afraid that they drop the series in the middle, but this is good news.

Considering that anime is almost old enough to vote, probably not a good benchmark for what they can show these days.
Also, yes there was many changes made to soften the more extreme moments of the story.

Personally, I think if they go for a longer series it would be fine if it the anime ended at the end of the farmland saga arc. Seems like a pretty decent spot to leave things until a future complete/continued adaptation

Only thing I'd say was weird is that the - "the day I get eaten by a bear might even be tonight" - two pages later he's getting eaten by a bear - transition walked a dangerously thin line between dramatic and hilarious.
Still awesome. Hild needs to join the crew. They definitely need a musician and a doctor, though.

The urge to reread the series gets stronger with each new chapter, I'm trying to hold out until I get book 7 in December so I can finish Farmland Saga,
I really like the character development that takes place during it.
Also hope they use volume 14's cover for the 7th book, it'll look amazing.
