I'm watching Part 3 Now, and the part where Lister
was messin' about with the type writer was funny ! -
Third episode was the best of them. Rimmer hitting the table…heh.
! As soon as Cat opened up that little piece of foil, the penny dropped, and I realised we'd just been treated to a dallas ending courtesy of the despair squid. ^_^.
-
aww, that was a nice ending
It really wrapped up well and left room for if they was to make any more episodes (they probably won't now, but a fan can dream, can't she? lol)
-
LOVED IT! It was great!
I loved what they did.Super-chops: It was said in an interview that if this did well, they may be able to make a Series X (yes, X, and it was pointed out that they would never make IX).
-
That was something I probably loved most of all. Instead of that gaping plot hole they had they essentially skipped two series and plastered it there. brilliant.
-
Red Dwarf Series X commisioned for new 6 episode run! Rumoured to be getting filmed in front a live studio audience this time round! That news especially made me excited, as the only thing i felt was missing from Back to Earth was the laugh track felt kinda strange without it!

-
oooooo yay! Cant wait for this (Although Back to Earth was somewhat hit and miss for me.) best news all day.
-
Yes! Yes! Yes! Just picked up Back to Earth on Blu-ray last week! Thank you for that news.
-
I use to watch this show weekly , from what I can recall it was awesome.
-
Picked up Back to Earth on Blu-Ray today. Watching the whole thing together is most awesome. Seems better this time through <3
-
The boys from the dwarf are due back next year.
New season! -
This is excellent:D
But what the heck? Back to Earth was terrible? Am I the only one who enjoyed it?
-
It wasn't terrible. But I didn't like it half as much as the first 8 series (except maybe series 7)
It's still pretty much awesome saying that however. Although I still can't see why they needed to do a Corrie crossover.
-
Why all the hate for RD7?!
It's got some of the best episodes of the entire lot!
-
Tikka to Ride is my favourite Dwarf episode, and I love Stoke me a Kipper too.
Although the series did later suffer a bit from the lack of Rimmer.

Can't forget Blue.
Even though Rimmer's not in it, Duct Soup is still a great ep.
If any, I'm not overly fond of VI… which I know is an unpopular opinion but still. All the episodes are good but none are particularly brilliant.
...apart from maybe Legion.
...or Le'Jean as Rimmer calls him
-
Eight was a bit weak but it had a fantastic finale so who gives a smeg?
-
Every time they kept getting sent back to the captain I laughed more and more.
Great finale.

That and Gunmen I liked from six. Rimmer & Cat cracked me up in that ep.

Ever seen the alternate ending?
Ridiculously better and endlessly more satisfying.

Thats Pete, not the finale.
Gunmen is all right but I never understood why it was the award winner. Fairly average all things considered. If any from V or VI got the Baftas etc, it should have been Back To Reality or Quarantine

Seen it. It's nice but doesn't compare to Rimmer kneeing Death in the balls.
-
Huh you're right, guess my memory's playing tricks on me then.
V was a much better season. W.O.O and all.
-

Didn't like Quarantine that much. Back to Reality was pure genius though.
I think my favorite season is VI. Had the funniest episodes for me and an incredible finale.
Edit: Scratch that Season VII was pretty great too. The Epideme episode was insanely good.

Quarantine is one of the absolute best man!
Rimmer in that gingham dress gets me everytime.
Each to their own though
-
he'll never get to meet the king of the potato people with that attitude.
-
Darkstorm and Mr Flibble are right
-

The one with the Rimmer song is still one of my fave eps.
Quarantine is easily my fave however. And Queeg.
I always get mixed up between the series. Well. Mainly with 5, 6 and 7
While we are on about Red Dwarf…...
When are we getting that movie? (is aware it's cancelled)

It turned into Back to Earth

Just thought I'd bump this thread since I wanted to say how AWESOME Red Dwarf is, I marathoned the entire show over a week thanks to Netflix & I don't regret it.
Also to build up some early hype for Red Dwarf X coming in September, any other smegheads here &/or excited? :P
-
So the new series starts in a few days. Anyone else excited? To be honest it sorta crept up on me and wasnt until I saw it on the back of a magazine that I knew it was coming.
-
It's back from the grave huh? Really excited for it. Hopefully the writing and comedy is as top-notch as it ever was.
-
Just watched Trojan & hoo boy was it great. Not the best episode, but still a sign that the show is back to it's roots :3
-
I enjoyed the new episode as well. Started off a bit worrying, but as the episode played and jokes got flushed out, the pay-offs were great.
-
Yeah I really enjoyed this episode. Felt like classic Red Dwarf. Kinda bummed about the lack of Holly tho. Although I guess its just not gonna happen. But the others were great.
Is this supposed to be before or After Back To Earth? Can't remember
-
There's a new series ?
Huh. Kinda weird.
-
I enjoyed the latest episode a lot more than the previous two. So far, I think this season is getting the possible reboot of the franchise off on the right foot. (Or would you consider Back to Earth the reboot of the franchise?)
-
I think of Back to Earth as a special/TV movie rather than a reboot. So far, X is feeling more like how the show is supposed to be. I'm really impressed :)
-
Looks like another season is in the works…
I enjoyed season 10 for the most part and look forward to more.
-
Season 10 was a fine season and had some great jokes (that phone call lol)
Can't wait for the new season :)
-
Hope they can spring for holly this time
-
Which one ?

Boys of the Dwarf are back!
