HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Fantastic ending! Precisely my thoughts at the end of 444.
"Uh Oda….you left all the heavy-hitters together in one group...."
PERFECT! ^O^
Like Hogback's design. Waiting for something to explode out of him.
You mean 446 right?

I'll take this time to point this out: her breasts are clearly fake. Look at those stitches on her chest…
Putting Cindry aside; has any one given any thought to the increase of Nami´s bust since Dr. Chopper joined the team?! :whistling:
EDIT: and if I´m not extemely mistaken the same phenomenon can be observed on Robin since she joined the strawhats - so what´s going on Dr. Chopper?
EDIT2: … for not beeing interested in female humans he seems to be doing a really good job .
You mean 446 right?
No, I mean 444.
As in two chapters ago when they split up.

Dythim did this as a joke.

Dythim did this as a joke.
This gives me a lot of ideas. With the advent of softsubs, they would be even more interesting.
At first I didn't notice that that was a joke. That was awesome.
If I was going to do a crazy theory it would be that the invisible man is brookes shadow, quite literally. Metaphorically the shadow is a mans dark side and it would be quite literally an exageration and bestial expression of his id and personality. Hence the whole rape perversion angle.
a la Peter Pan – I like it.
Wait, is that Hogback's real face, or is it a mask?
No one has said anything about his strange thing with them being dirty.
I mean come on why does he want them to be clean.
Well, he's a doctor, and most medical science has shown that it's generally good to be clean.

I'm still wondering what flavor pudding it was.
I think the idea that Hoback is the invisible man is pretty much out. Its been shown so many ways that its unfeasible that I don't think its viable.

At this point I wouldn't bet on it, but since it seems to be looney theory day I want to get my dibs in on this in case it turns out to be true. Then I can claim my laurels as an oracle.
Oh, and as a subset to that theory its possible that there are many "shadows" walking around.
Of course its far far more likely that the invisible man is a minion of Hogbacks and a new character.
AN EXCELLENT THEORY!!
And when Nami holds up a mirror and nobody is there, she sees Brooke's reflection!! ZOMGZ!
@Impel:
I'm still wondering what flavor pudding it was.
Here's my theory. Vanilla with a hint of chocolate. If it turns out to be true, I so called it!
thoughts?
:ninja:
Swirl pudding? Yeah, I go with that. I think it's mainly just chocolate, though, but I'm willing to say butterscotch too.
It was ZOMBIE-FLAVOUR!! NAMI WAS RIGHT!
The end of the chapter was cool. Only Robin would consider Cerebus cute, and only Luffy would consider eating it. That dog's literally dead meat.
if brooke got the reincarnation-fruit, wouldn't it be possible that his shadow, posses some of that power. And in that case used to rise the dead?
I think it would be hilarious of Cerberus ended up being a pet of some kind. Farfetched? Naturally. But it would be funny.
Cerberus has a snowball's chance in hell against the five strongest in the Strawhat crew. Who knows? I might be wrong. If he turns out to be stronger than I'm giving him credit for, that'll be a big surprise.
Cindry is fucking crazy, too! Her hatred for plates was completely random, but not to mention funny.
I hope she gets a fight in this arc. Also, best quote yet!
"YOU LEAVE, PERIOD! EIGHT! NINE!"
On a side note, I'm surprised at the lack of fanboyish "CINDRY FOR EIGHTH CREWMEMBER DUR DUR" posts. Probably because Oda nipped that in the bud with the tantalizing possibility of Brooke.
Geez, Robin's been doing wierd shit lately. First the creepy glare (FFA's avi), then she had a ghost man (Brook/shower rapist again?) lick her body, and now she's saying demons are cute.
Robin's always been like that. She wanted to name Sunny "Ship of Darkness." And the licking? That wasn't her fault.
Oh, she may not have started it, but she sure wanted it to continue!
Reading now the last two chapters of One Piece I noticed with all the Zombies and the invisible man. I think Oda-sama picked up the book dracula in his spare time and read it and made a parody of it in One Piece! Cause you just have to notice that Hogwash is based of a Vampire bat.
He still reminds me more of Danny Devito as the Penguin. Lookit his nose, hise build, and his weird flipper-feet.
Actually, he doesn't have flipper feet. I've been coloring the chapter, and I realized that it looks like he has flipper feet, but he doesn't. It's just a shodow coming off his shoes ( which look like high heels ), and that causes it to look like his feet are flipper looking.
He's…wearing fish-net pants. shivers I can never watch that Arby's ad the same way again.
Pretty good chapter, especially at the end. The arc should be picking up now. I've been kind of bored when they landed on thriller bark.
Also about thriller bark, it is indeed thriller bark. Check page 18 out, it's spelled in english.
I like the idea that the invisible man could have been Brooke's shadow!
Hope it's true, then we'll get to see the Strawhats searching for the hidden mastermind who has such an ability to extract a person's evil side. ;)
While I like the invisible man being Brooks shadow theory, i'd prefer if its a lion, that guy looked perverted.
Also I love fan service :3
Ive been thinking about the Brooks shadow being the invisable man and it actually holds some water. (I don't personally think it so, but I gave it thought)
This is assuming that the shadow is not visable and is the evil form of its owner.
It talked about "our" bride, it might be talking about him and Brook. Meaning that Brook could be looking for a new bride. MAYBE Hogback stole his shadow so his chances to get a bride will be slim to get revenge. Also Cindry could be the bride Brook refused. Brooks shadow on the ship could work if the shadow could run fast like brook.
But this IS a stretch, just thinging about what if's till the next chapter. Take it as a grain of salt.
I'm still wondering what flavor pudding it was.
Japanese pudding isn't like the standard Western pudding. It generally has form, is one flavor (pudding flavor) and a caramel sauce on bottom. I'm no dessert expert but it reminds me of flan.
Regarding flavored pudding, that tends to be more of something that specific areas of Japan boast. I can't think of an example but it's similar to say a Philly Cheesteak or New York Cheese Cake. The biggest variety on a national level seems to be baked pudding or the standard pudding.
So there you have it, the pudding is pudding flavor.

Greg surely got some rare "delta Scuti star", he really deserves sthg. special.

You mean the indicator of Senior status in addition to the bold user name? Still there for me, maybe your browser isn't picking it up.
I'm just still trying to figure out what that has to do with my quoted post about pudding.
Yeah, what you described is like flan, except flan is more like custard, not really pudding.
So… it's sunday evening here in Germany and new spoilers are around the corner (I hope o.o). I can't wait 'til tuesday evening >333 wants more Brooke-stuff
I'm sure Dr. Hogback is our villian... of course, it's very obvious, but this is a MINOR Arc... I doubt Oda will build some complicate structures or tricks us with an arc-villian in a minor arc... at least: Hogback is the guy with countless subordinates XD
... I still don't like the theory that Cindry was Brooke's bride >.< This would be too much background-stuff for a minor arc... stolen shadows, Brooke's killed nakama, a crazy doc, strange creatures, invisible perverts... I think this is enough for a minor arc.
Putting Cindry aside; has any one given any thought to the increase of Nami´s bust since Dr. Chopper joined the team?! :whistling:

EDIT3: I noticed in this chapter how Nami's bust has decreased in size since Skypeia. During Enie's Lobby no noticable changes happened, but now they look like in early chapters like 100, 101… again.
@Impel:
Yeah, what you described is like flan, except flan is more like custard, not really pudding.
That's what they call pudding. It's made pretty much exactly like custard. I think the full name in Japan is "custard pudding."
Pudding is less thick than custard.
EDIT3: I noticed in this chapter how Nami's bust has decreased in size since Skypeia. During Enie's Lobby no noticable changes happened, but now they look like in early chapters like 100, 101… again.
Changes like that are actually quite normal in serial manga. When you're pressed to finish one chapter per week, you don't always have time to draw characters the way you did in previous chapters or go back and edit them. So the characters might be drawn slightly differently from what they looked like before. For example, I've noticed in some pictures that Zoro's head looks incredibly small, or his arm unnaturally large. Fortunately, the changes are usually only slightly noticeable, so the characters look overall the same, though I suppose to devoted fanboys who spend a long time looking at female characters, those changes would be a big deal.
I really see no size change. Well, in the manga they do kinda reset, though. In Enies, I did notice a big decrease, though.
Pudding is less thick than custard.
Not sure how many ways we can put this, but that's what Japanese people call pudding.
Japanese people also call a sliver of cheap meat a 'steak'.
Oh, I see what you're trying to convey. Okay, so Cindry was serving up flan essentially.
Considering all that's happened so far, combined with the fact that this invisible creature will stoop to low means to get a bride, I suspect that this arc will be known as the "fanservice arc" in the future. I personally would rather see more mystery and action.
You know, all things considered, even if this arc turns out being predictable, I'll still give Oda credit where it's due because he's giving us such a non-traditional "One Piece" setting.

I like how Robin Getting licked and Nami getting attacked in the shower makes this a fanservice arc.
Getting licked isnt really fan service and the shower sence was just more horror movie spoofs.
You know… That talk about flan reminded me here in France we have industrial vanilla flavored flans called flanby and a few years ago a bunch of morons created the FFGF, the french federation of flanby swallowing, which consists of people eating flanby exactly like Usopp and Chopper, without using one's hands as demonstrated here:

Fascinating uh? It was a semi popular internet fad a couple of years ago, I wonder if Oda was inspired by it.
You know what I'm enjoying about this arc (so far) more than anything else?
We're finally at a point where Oda has villains he can have fun with again.
Okay, Kaku had some good lines as did Calipha but you have to admit most of the "let's have fun with the villain" fell on Spandam whom I ultimately found more annoying than anything else.
Here we've got (what appears) to be the villain of the arc and he's a constantly ignored pompous butter ball.
It was weird having someone like Lucci as a villain. Even if Croc was a mofo, at least he talked big and often. Lucci was just this silent creepy arm of the WG. Now we're back to a more traditional OP set of villains that are decidedly dangerous but also have fantastic personality.
Love it.
