Four episodes, which is the same as the Japanese official VHS releases. If nothing else, you can tell from the running time how many episodes it'd contain. So 96 minutes = four episodes.
Honestly, if you're just buying it for the dvd part, I recomend you just by the HK bootlegs which are about $29.95 for 30 episodes.
Dude, no way! The HK bootlegs are not only illegal, meaning that Oda and Toei get no money from them, but they're super-duper crappy on top of that. They're only good for a laugh, but I wouldn't blow money on them if you're looking to seriously collect because they, you know, suck like whoah.
If you want to go bootleg, stick with digital fansubs. They're higher quality, have better translations and don't look like bad television rips subtitled by people who don't speak either English or Japanese. And although Oda and Toei still won't be making any money off of them, being that they're fansubs, unlike HK no one else is making any money off of them either.
