this movie just came out today in North America. It was pretty good. Not use to Jim Carry playing non-comedian parts but i got use to it. The story itself was kinda weird. your thoughts?
The Number 23

The movie started off very strong, but the ending was weak as hell.
The movie overall was enjoyable (according to me) and crap (according to
7 of my friends, and just about everyone in the theater). Now granted, I am a Jim Carrey fan, but a couple of things could have helped this movie be much much better:
! - The film should have been a film noir like the book's story instead of the "real life" story, because the noir parts were awesome.
- If they wanted to stick to the same story, the wife should have been the killer. A) It would make more sense (who carries a butchers knife as self defence) and B) It would have meant she was a lesbian in college, and she killed her lover, and has been in control of her situation/relationship/friends this whole time.
- There should have been a police officer figure in the story figuring out the clues alongside Jim, because the story really lacked that, much like in the Noir story, where Jim was the cop and it actually made more sense, the real story would have made more sense with an antagonist.
Now as for more silly 23 facts:
We watched this movie on February 23rd
We watched the movie during 23:23 & 23:32
We watched the movie in Theater 2, and theater 3 was right next to it, but no movie was playing there so the numbers read 32 since they were right next to each other.
We walked down 23rd street to get to the subway.
It was brick cold outside, so we took the M23
We got to 23rd street and took the 6 train (2x3=6)
My name has 23 letters in it. -
What Refii said is mostly what I've heard, the trip is better than the destination.
That kinda sucks but what can you do.
β¦..uh......anyone find it funky that 23 is one of 'The Numbers'?
-
^What, like 13 and 7?
-
No.
Look under my user name. They're 'The Numbers' from Lost.

I saw this movie last night. ^^
It was a pretty messed up movie. The overall storyline was good, but it kinda of took too long to actually get into the good stuff. Seeing Jim Carrey play as someone as "insane" as that person was, but cool to see, but Jim Carrey DID pull a few jokes here and there. The ending was a little confusing, but it did tie everything together.
But when we got out, and we walked around the wall before it was closing, all we could see was 23. Even when my dad was taking me home! my house number is "32" which is 23 reversed. I was wearing a hoodie which was zipped open a little and the words said "MECCA" and on one side of the opened sweater it was only "ME" and then the other side "CCA" ..23! xD
Lol, I got out of the shower at 10:23, that night. But it was obvious a coinicidence (sp)? xDbut overall, good movie.

So that's what they are! Greg, you have no idea how many times I've tried to find a locigal pattern in that sequence of numbers!
-
^_^ Have fun with my signature. It's easy but far more fun.
-
I always knew what those numbers were, but your sig..
I can't read Kanji, and what I can only assume is code or jibberish. -
Finally, I find out what those numbers under Greg's name isβ¦.now just to figure out that sig of his which is bothering the shit out of me..
I mean, you fricken do a count down over weeks and this is what we get at the end of it..
-
Is it "France Banzai!" ?
-
Jim Carrey + trying to be serious + deep moral questions = film so bad, I have a right mind to go out into the streets and beat up an entire sidewalk of junkies and winos.
-
Omg,. no stfu go watch Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind.
You COULD NOT BE more wrong about Jim Carrey + serious + moral questions.
This was a "scary movie" thriller, these movies never have good acting, even if the actors are oscar winners, thrillers are just shock value wrapped with multiple nude scenes of hot actors/tresses. -
I do NOT want to see Jim Carrey naked, lemme tell ya that.
-
and what I can only assume is code or jibberish.
Wrong Sir! said Greg wildly off-topic.
-
Wait, you guys didn't know that those numbrs were from LOST? I knew them the second I saw them. Probably cause Im a LOST nerd.
-
I never cared for Lost, seemed like a boring as fuck show so I never watched it. Just like most shows on TV.
I'm a comedy and animation fan when it comes to TV, cause really TV shows suck out of those categories to me.
-
Lost is fucking amazing, I've known the numbers since I started watching it in '05 >.>
I might see the movie. I'll keep thinking about Hurley and the Dharma Initiative, though xD
