I need new anime to watch, care to recommend which anime is good that i can watch? I been rewatching some of the old anime and it getting boring so any imput would be nice..
Animes you would recommend to watch
-
-
I recomend, for new animes, Busou Renkin.
-
There's a massive range of anime out there, it would be nice if you could list some anime that you have previously watched. Or at least the genres that you prefer.
-
i was about to suggest that, yeah. Post what you've already seen/watch.
-
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, Death Note, D Gray Man, and of course Eyeshield21.
There are other good ones for other action such as Hellsing, Getbackers, Black Cat, and Full Metal Panic.
For romance, To-Love-Ru(Manga in Weekly Jump), Negima, Kanon 2006 Remake, and Shuffle!
For Magical Girl which is my current addiction, Watch Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha then its 2nd season, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's, and finally, AWAIT the upcoming 3rd season which will air on April,
-
If you're looking for a good laugh but also a good action anime, I really recommend Gintama. ^^
And, for a great anime all together, Eyeshield 21 ! ^_^
-
Depends on what you're looking for in an anime.
If you're looking for some deep, different, and if you aren't the kind of person who turns into a howler monkey because a show focuses on a character with an emo past, I'd reccomend Neon Genesis Evangelion. If you want something intelligent and psychological, I'd recommend Paranoia Agent.
-
I've been thinking of watching Bosou Renkin and Gintama.
All I know of Renkin is that guy in Jump Ultimate Stars. He has a rocket huge lance, which I have to admit is really awesome.
However, Gintama made fun of OP (It said in someone's sig, I wonder what episode it's from), so that seems much more appealing.
-
normally when you ask for reccomendations its good to post what you like so that we can go off those…
-
This post is deleted!
-
Yu Yu Hakusho
BoBoBo(Don't think there's a group to sub it yet though, and the Anime ends early on, it was cancelled)
Death Note
-
Manga I currently keep up with(besides one piece)
Hunter X Hunter
D.Gray-man
Naruto(borderline)I wasnt really into Busou renkin, and Im not sure about gintama (started it, but dont find it entertaining).
Rahxephon imo was like Evangelian, except it had a conclusion, and didnt leave an open ending, but imo, there was alot more character development in that than evangelian, without the massive angst. Oh yea, and mech fights.
GTO is one of my favorite comedy animes. Im currently reading the prequel series and its definately worth mentioning
Getbackers is another good action series Characters are all shrowded in mystery, so finding out about them keeps things interesting. Read the manga tho, anime has too many fillers.
Kinnikuman and original gundam series are good old school choices.
-
i would say…Hunter X Hunter or Gintama
-
Speed Racer. My first anime, and still one of the good ones IMO. Eh, what other ones are good… the Jojo OVA's are japanese voice, english subtitles, and pretty good from what I've heard. Not sure, D. Gray-Man, Buso Renkin (last episode I saw was... 17? Not sure...) Bleach and FullMetal Alchemist are good too.
-
Hajime no Ippo. Get on that. Fast.
-
I would recommend (sp?)
Gintama, School Rumble, or Jungle wa itsumo hare nochi guu for comedies.
"Air" for lovers of mushy shojo-ness (Air TV is not the same I think)
Death Note or Hellsing/Hellsing Ultimate for the more hardcore anime fan.
Trigun, xxxHolic for just all-around good anime.
and Ouran High School Host Club for romantic comedy.I try to watch a pretty wide variety of stuff, and I'll try just about anything, but shojo comedies are my personal favourites. I've watched tons more stuff than this, I just can't remember.
Oh, and it was in episode 13 of Gintama that they made fun of One Piece.
-
Has purplerose_04 even looked on this thread since he made it? Oh, and definitly watch D. Gray-man. It's the only religious anime where God isn't the villian.
-
Eyeshield 21 manga >>> the anime (just from the, like, ten minutes I've seen, the manga character designs look much better and they changed too much >.>).
Manga I've read that seem to have good anime adaptations that I'd highly reccomend are Fruits Basket, Monster, GTO, and Yu Yu Hakusho. Stand-alone anime that rock include FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Gungrave, and Paranoia Agent.
I've read Deathnote and Bleach, which are awesome, and while I haven't seen much the adaptations, I've heard they're good.
Edit: Bobobo, Azumangadaioh, and Cromartie High School are also great <3
-
thank guys i saw a few anime i haven't heard of or have consider checking it out
@Impel:

i'm a she not a he by the way… i been occupied w/ midterms lately so yea..
anywayz i would list all the anime i watch so far but it is too long...i seen a lot but i prefer comedy, action animeI heard a lot about Dr. Gray-man but i heard good things about it and bad things so i dont know if i want to start on it. what is it about anywayz?
but i saw a few anime listed that i haven't seen or heard of so i'm gonna start with those...by the way how long is eyeshield 21? -
D. Gray-man = yes
Maybe not if you're SUPER religious, but it's about God beating the Devil, so it's not too bad. Basically, this really strong demon named the Millenium Earl thinks that, not only is God bad, but that humans are awful and wants to kill them all off, in a way simmilar to Noah's flood, as in the only humans left alive are the decendents of Noah, humans who are related directly to Noah and believe the same way the Earl does and have special powers. To kill humans, the Earl comes to people who have loved ones die and says he'll bring them back if they agree that God is bad. Their loved one comes back as an akuma, a metal demon thing that kills people and wears their skin. The only way to kill akumas is if you are an exrocist, a human you is compatable with stuff called Innocence, and they make weapons with it and fight the akuma and collect Innocence. The story basically follows one exrocist who is the one destined to kill the Earl.

Good… Bad... who's really got the right to decide? In the eyes of the bad, the good is bad, and in the eyes of the good, the bad is bad. So strange.
Anyways, action and comedy.. hmm
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is definately a good one, more the comedy side the action, although there is some action, and it's definately top notch animation. It's about a girl who is actually the essense of God, an esper boy club( just 1 guy from it), a time traveler, an alien, and a normal high school student. They do crazy stuff together, because they are in a club. Check wikipedia or something for the chronological order.
Naruto and Bleach are both good action anime, with sprinkles of humor. Naruto is better overall imo, Bleach has better fights, both are definately good Shounen titles.
Full Metal Alchemist has some good action, sprinkled in with minor humor.
-
Samurai champloo is an excellent anime, definitely worth watching.
-
@purplerose_04:
by the way how long is eyeshield 21?
the manga is at 221 chapters i belive and still going strong and the Anime is on about 100 episodes atm but only 61 of them have been subbed so far.
and now for my recommendations if you havent already fallen madly in love with it you just simply cant go wrong with a little Lupin III, its a wonderful show bout a master theif called Arsene Lupin III and follows him and his companions on their wacky capers around the world all whilst hes being stalked round the world by his nemesis inspector Zenigata its utterly hilarious i dare ya to go one episode without cracking a smile once
excuse the rant i just really love Lupin xD

It's been over 20 posts in this topic and nobody's mentioned Cowboy Bebop yet, I'm surprised. For me at least, along with Trigun being two of the better Anime of the last 10 years they definitely have two of the best soundtracks of any anime ever. And if you're going for goofy awesomeness, the original Dragonball is pretty awesome and so is Yakitate!! Japan, which in addition to being awesome and goofy is the source of Ramza's avatar.
-
Trigun is just like Ruroni Kenshin, but with guns
-
I personally reccomend Hunter x Hunter, D.Gray-Man, Buso Renkin, Bleach, Death Note and Cowboy Bebop.
-
I liked Last Exile…it's different!
-
I personally reccomend Hunter x Hunter, D.Gray-Man, Buso Renkin, Bleach, Death Note and Cowboy Bebop.
Bleach and Hunter x Hunter really aren't that new
-
Gintama is a funny series to watch, especially since the subs are starting to pick up. Episode 18 is a good one to watch first.
-
I suggest you watch hajime no ippo till the end and start reading the manga at around vol 35 or so..
if you haven't watched trigun. I suggest champloo or trigun,I suggest you watch them
-
@Impel:

I consider 1999+ still pretty new (for HxH) and the Bleach anime is quite new.
-
Gungrave = Trigun + The Godfather
Easily in my top 3 of good animes. I just loved the series.
-
I'd recommend that you watch stuff that started out as an anime, rather than an adaptation of a manga. Following that, I strongly suggest you watch Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (it's better but not necessary if you've read the book previously), FLCL, as well as some movies, like Laputa: Castle in the Sky.
And don't listen to the people who recommended Eyeshield 21. The anime is a massive pile of stink and failure on pretty much every level. Read the manga instead.

Exaggerte much ?
while the Manga is better than the anime the anime is still just fine the VAs and music for instance is awesome(i just love hearing Hirumas YA-HA and most of the soundtrack is awesome^^) and it has some of the most enjoyble filler ive seen in any anime so far, the only real downside with the anime is that it switches a little stuff around(but nothing really major just some stuff that pisses off hardcore fans) it gets a little stretched out at times but what anime doesnt.
-
How could I forget Ippo. i was sad to watch the final episode.
They need to get on making more OVA's. I think after anime and OVA's your at around chapter 350. THing is, there are almost 800 chapters.
450 chapters is a little intimidating. XP So I havent even tried to catch up yet.
-
I've heard that the Prince of Tennis is supposed to be good, but I wouldn't know.
-
I would personally recommend Bleach for the action and some emotional stuff, and bobobo for the comedy, naruto is really good too, although I like bleach more
-
i watch most the anime listed here..except for eyeshield 21, ippo, and cowboy bebop, i think for cowboy bebop and ippo i'm gonna buy the dvd i think they have better quality that way. i'm gonna try and find eyeshield since i love sport, and if ya haven't watch prince of tennis try it..it really funny and good…i'm not a tennis fan so it funny to me but i think those who play tennis find it funny as well but not interesting...
also there is an anime call the Godfathers?
-
Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, FMA, FLCL(for a quick laugh), XXX Holic is pretty good( and no, its not XXX rated), D.Grayman, and Gintama.
all of those rate from pretty good to "OMFG watch it over and over". but in the end, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

The anime cut out an entire arc, and several standalone chapters. It's filler screws around with established character development which overall makes it weaker (specifically, the "Where's Eyeshield" episode). It hacks off and switches around major plot points without rhyme or reason. Its BGM is synthesized fluff. It's art and animation is sorely lacking; the manga's art actually manages to show motion better than the anime, and is more detailed to boot. It tried to cover up a character's racism with kittens for God's sake.
So no, I'm not exaggerating. I'm not a purist, and don't care if some events are handled differently; if anything it gives me incentive to watch it. But the Eyeshield anime just reeks of hack-job material. You know how everyone bitches about the One Piece dub? Imagine that, only in Japanese and with better theme songs and voice acting.

which arc was cut ? cant seem to recall that:wassat: and which characters development do you feel is ruined by the anime ? just outta curiosity
and i cant say i agree with most of your other points the music for me does its job well by heightening the mood and the art is just fine its nothing mindblowing and it can get a little repetitive at times when they re-use scenes but not to the point that it actualy bothers me, and i do belive the racsism was only downplayed.
so sure there are plenty of things that are better handled in the manga but you act like the anime was painful to watch,i think they did a good job with the material they could use.
-
I've been meaning to see Gintama for a while myself. It's supposedly like BoBoBo-Bo Bo-BoBo, but better

The Ojo/Shinryuji game; it lasted about half a volume and took place after the Taiyo game. Mainly the two fillers that made me go "what the HELL" were the "where's Eyeshield" episode, because it basically mirrored an event that took place later on in the series (no idea if the episode was made before the "Kobayakawa Sena" chapter), except that Mamori's reaction was the opposite. And there was also one where Suzuna was some newspaper spy trying to uncover Eyeshield's identity, and so later when the team went to America and saw her she was all "oh hey Sena fancy meeting you here." Oh, and the whole Musashi scenario was rearranged in the anime so that it pretty much lost all of the surprise it had in the original.

I like a couple of the theme songs, but I find that the BGM is heavily overused and not that special to begin with anyway. The art wasn't too bad at first, but around the time that the team came back from America it went really, really downhill.

I went ahead in the anime without reading past a certain point in the manga once. I thought it was okay, at least until I went back and picked up the manga again. The anime didn't stand up in the slightest. That's probably when I started thinking how awful it was.
If someone likes the anime, then I don't really care, it's their opinion, but I can't honestly recommend it to someone.

ya know i actualy agree with ya that the animation got worse around that time but the rest of the stuff didnt relly bother me at all, and i know its just opinion and im not trying to convert you just wanted to know where you came from^^

1)naruto
2) one piece
3) slayers
4) gundam wing -
I'd reccomend Gantz. That is all. A great anime, especially if your trying to get someone else into anime.
-
Once Neuro comes out, I'd suggest giving that a try
-
Five classics:
1. One Piece (no ****, Sherlock)
2. BLEACH (aka Yu Yu Hakusho with more names to remember)
3. Cowboy Bebop (pure class)
4. School Rumble (funniest anime ever)
5. Tenjho Tenge (most ecchi anime ever) -
only one of those Id consider a classic is Bebop.
Bleach is pure ass. Yu yu hakusho was MUCh better. If only togashi didnt lose interest. V_V
