What do you find to be the most unusual edit you've ever seen?
My choice:
Changing Sailor Uranus and Neptune from lovers to cousins. The wierder part is that all of the romantic parts were left in >_>.

A cover page of DBZ. They edited out all of the characters from Flicking off Cell. They just looked retared.. and it was the point of the cover….
Cardcaptors.
Yu-Gi-Oh!, when Pegasus's henchmen come to kill Kaiba and they edit out the guns and make it like they're pointing at him.
shinigami(or anyone else), sadly, i used to watch yugioh and i didnt pay attention to these kind of cuts mostly cause i hadnt watched the original, so could someone post a pic of the pointing thing?
The Tomato Soup scene in Dragonball.
One that's as good as that is them changing Jackie Chun's Drunken Fist into the "Mad Cow Attack," and in the background they added in crudely drawn cows and milk cartons in the background.

I would if I could.

I knew there was a reason I swore off recognizing the existence of US DB years ago.
errr…one piece i think...the one whre helmeppo's pistol became a springy hammer (SO REMEMORABLE!!)
How about in DBZ when a sign said Root Beer and the Root was shaking and everything. It was obviously added afterwards.
Cardcaptor Sakura. Almost the entire concept was changed. Still can't believe they changed Sakura from a lovable character to a spoiled brat.
"You're lucky it's Sunday, or else they would of been people in the building." - Vegeta from Ocean Groups DBZ dub after Nappa blows up a building.
Ocean Group had to be the most retarded dubbers ever, how the fuck would an alien know about business days on Earth?!
when they turned Laboon into an iceburg
Chun's cow attack made me laugh really hard, but the censoring of Roshi's knee in the first US DBZ dub has to be the weirdest.
Skipping an entire episode of Poke'mon simply because the Warden of the Safari Zone held a gun up to Ash's head. Ever wonder where Ash got all those Tauros? It was in that episode.
Reads Overlord_Shadow_Luffy's and Monkey.D.Luffy_'s posts
People don't read these days…
oh my badd sry hehe it just said wieredest edit ever on my comp. ummmmm when evil buu was about to kill the guy who shot mr.buu's dog( i think his name was bee) and the guy pulled out a guy and started shootin at evil buu and evil buu just blasted him away but in the dub the guy just pulls out a guy and they cut off the shooting.
A guy?…. You mean a gun. Yeah, they did cut off the shooting but that's not really weird. Standard stuff really.
from DBZ, when a plane blows up
Teinshinhan: Its ok! I can see their parachutes!!!
but I agree on the one manga cover, all their middle fingers are edited, so they're just holding up a fist to Cell.. looks VERY stupid.
Can we say, "raising the dead"?
… I knew we could. <.< >.>
I heard that in the Yu-Gi-Oh dub, they replace death with this entire concept of the "Shadow Realm". That's got to be the stupidest edit since the "Another dimension" in the Ocean Group Dragonball Z.
In Dic's Sailor Moon dub, they switched the driver's seat in the cars so kids wouldn't know the show took place in Japan.
When yusuke was fighting kibanou and they edit out how he beats him by using the cig genkai threw earlier on the ground and putting it on kibanou when kibanou grabed him and threw him. ( it was a pretty smart move.)

They edited that on the Toonami version? I remember seeing that scence, but only because it was back when Yu Yu Hakusho was on Adult Swim.
Now, now, people. This topic is about the weirdest edit, not the one a person dislikes the most.
Most of the DBZ and Yu-Gi-Oh edits are considered "well done," if people do not originally notice the edits. Only when Funimation had a crack at Dragonball and added in really lame things (like Goku wearing underwear in one scene) did things get weird.
I'm partial to inconsistency. If an edit is going to be made, it better be edited in all scenes to make sense! In this, parts of Dragonball and a great deal of One Piece are weird, but I would say Cardcaptors would be weirdest overall. Most of the changes were unnecessary, and even though I do not like the series, it did not deserve the same treatment as OP is getting right now. =/
HFIL. I was much more gullible back when I first heard that, and I STILL went "WTF?!"
I go with Terek here. Some of these cuts seems weird, but kinda had to be.
However, that SM drivers' seat thing is just awesome.
have u seen that episode of dragonball when bulma and goku are on a island and like i think they wanna go under the sea and like bulma accidently grabs her father's capsules and like when she clicks it and when it explodes and all those porn mags come out ? how come they didnt edit out sum of the mags cause when i watchin isaw about 4 tits or 2 on sum of the mags .
THis just seemed weird to me..but when Goku and Bulma try to catch oolong when he is a fish in Dragonball(epsiode 5)… they use money, well since the US edit has US dollars edited onto the anime.. wierd thing is.. the dollars look fake..the whole edit looked like photoshop..also the money did not move wehen bulma threw the money into the lake..XD

Oh…!! Thanks man.
When they gave Aeka and Ryoko bathing suits in Tenchi Muyo Episode 4 so that when Ryoko snatched Aeka's towel, it became a conversation about her being seen in her bathing suit.
Also, the Hot Sauce episode in Yu-Gi-Oh GX.
Good, KaizokuFan22, that should look weird to you, because they were actually using panties in that scene. Although it's not a particularly weird edit, Oolong does love money, he just loves panties more.
In Dragonball Z Movie 3, the one that was on TV, after Gohan gets his tail cut off and changes from an Oozaru back into a Human, sans his clothes, he falls and they put a bush there to cover it. only problem with this, is Gohan isn't Static during this scene, so as he moves around, the Bush Follows him.
And during the Ginyuu Tokusentai fight, when Vegeta Blows Gurt's head off, they photoshopped it BACK ON so it's still on when his body falls over, it was done semi-poorly so it shook around, it was funny XP
and Most of the Name Changes in DBZ, I dont get at all. why Was Tenshinhan's name Shortened? why Was Enma's name changed to Yama, they HALF translated Kaiou's name, instead of being the King of Worlds,he becomes the King of Kai, What's kai? American kids don't know this! and then they turn around and Keep the Name of the attack COMPLETELY untranslated, "KAIOUken" is actually Named after it's Creator XP
This maybe a little off topic:
Im sure everyone remembers the pokemon episode that was removed completely because of the flashing light. Does anyone know where I can find it, if anywhere?
Always wanted to see if I got a seizure or a headache or something.

You're talking about the porygon one. that was pretty funny.
Knights of the Zodiac, Seiya vs. Bear
in the dub he was "Putting the bears to sleep"
in the sub he was slamming his fingers through their throats (it still looked like this in the dub)
I got one on Episode 7 of Outlaw Star erase the blood of Jim's hand, but they kept Jim's line "What the hell is this?".
Looks at hand "Where did this come from? I've never seen it before."
I'd have to say either The Next Dimension/Shadow Realm or the pointy fingers of death.

That was a while ago, try youtube or a bittorrent
(don't hurt your self)

There's multiple postings of it on YouTube.
Electric Soldier Porygon was the title, right?
Ironically, I watched it and didn't get a seizure at all. Take that, Japan!!

omg i just watched it, no wounder kids got messed up
I just watched the seizure scene in full screen without blinking and nothing happened.
Well where you in a dark room close to the tv .

No wai!
I always wondered that when I was a kid.
You've enlightened me….

Yeah well, you didn't watch it in TV HQ resolution, plus don't forget about.. uh.. I forgot.. 10%? Of the kids watching the show got sick.

anyone have a pic of each one? (Edit and unedit)
Weirdest edit I have seen so far was in Dragon Ball when Goku strips naked and jumps into the lake they edit a pair of underpants on him but the underpants are thickly outlined and they kept moving… Also in Naruto the one teacher ninja guy who smokes, they changed it to like a stick or something but in one episode he shakes some black stuff or whatever it's called off of it and onto a plant... Does that mean he's smoking without lighting it?
Take a Lupin the III move from the 70s featuring the American President, dub it into English 30 years later, and make the President sound like George W. Bush.

No, the underpants themselves weren't moving. It's just that in old shows like Dragonball, the picture always shakes a little, as they were basically just made by scanning the images on to a film-reel. But yeah, it was rather sloppy. They should have tried to move the underpants around to match the image too, to make it look less like it was edited. Oh, and on the topic of Dragonball: In episode 13 of the 1995 Saban/FUNi-dub, there was a scene where Goku was lying naked on the ground. The dub added a flower covering up his penis. It looked so EXTREMELY out of place. (I think someone said that it was just a flower they cut out from a photography…) It would have been alot less obvious if they had just zoomed in on Goku's head.
