I'm 100% sure the average One Piece reader has noticed this already…
that Nami and Robin's respective pasts were portrayed (as of now) by Oda as more intense than that of the guys.
Quick recap: Nami and Robin were both outcasts of their community. Nami willingly chose to be an outcast in order to save Kokoyashi, while Robin was percieved as a freak because of her DF power. Similarities also arise in the way both women think. Nami and Robin are very cautious when it comes to danger, whether its avoiding battles, or utilizing manipulation. Robin in particular, was constantly on the move, running away from the government.
I do realize that Oda can definately squeeze more into Sanji, Zoro and Luffy's pasts, but for now...I'll assume he's done with Sanji and Zoro.
Anyway, what I wish to see discussed...if Oda constructs another heroine (or female strawhat), will he reuse Nami and Robin's qualities again?
Another idea I wish to poke at...I have trouble wording this one. Because the obstacles that Nami and Robin had lived through were more...taxing, they are in a sense "bunnies among lions" to quote cromartie
For those who haven't had the pleasure of seeing it...say there are two groups of lions. One group of lions has one superstrong lion that prowls among the group, while the other group of lions contains a bunny. Which is more badass? The bunny of course is more badass, since it is able to live among the lions. I guess Usopp can also fit into this somehow...but I digress. :D
But yeah...Nami and Robin are sure badass bunnies.
