Do any of you have a favorite old sitcom? My all-time favorite is Roseanne; I absolutely loved that show; it was much better than oh-so-sweet Full House.
So, what old sitcoms do you love?
Old Sitcoms

Family Matters, I used to watch it every Friday back when that programming block TGIF was on. I think it was NBC or ABC.
-
helene et les garcons.
'nuff said.
-
Red Dwarf,
Only Fools and Horses,
Fawlty Towers
One foot in the grave,
Men Behaving Badly -
I used to watch Full House, dubbed in Japanese :)) I loved that show.
-
The Abbott and Costello show
Mork and Mindy
The Munsters
Gilligan's IslandTo name a few sitcoms I purely loved as a kid.
-
Roseanne
Munsters
addams family -
I sort of liked watching The Fresh Prince of Bell-Air as a kid. Though the one I always watched was Family Matters. I would always watch TGIF as a kid. Boy Meets World and Sabrina were my favorites on that block, though.
-
1. The Beverly Hillbillies
2. Married… with Children
3. SeinfeldOthers in no particular order.
Family Matters
Sanford and Son
Giligan's Island
Happy Days
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Sister, Sister -
Cheers, Night Court, Benson, Seinfield were all fun shows.
-
Taxi! Man that show was hilarious.
Cheers was great too. Frazier was a wonderful spinoff though.I used to watch Happy Days when I was really little, I don't remember much of it now, I probably wouldn't care for it anymore. I don't think I could watch Different Strokes now, it was kind of cheeseball, but normal for it's time. I used to watch that show religiously though. Along with stuff like "Facts of Life" and "Gimmie a Break".
And I so vaguely remember Mork and Mindy. Nanoo Nanoo!
Anyone remember the Tom Larroquette show (who previously was the sleasy lawyer on Night Court)? It was pretty good, it only lasted a few years. I got to sit in a studio audience for it once.
-
I liked boy meets world all the way to the end.
and other mentionable
Fresh prince of bel-air
A Different World
Living single
Sister,sister
Martin. -
I rather like Mama's Family (that "7th network" that used to be PAX is showing it most evenings now), and Married with Children is important as a milestone of America's social collapse.
Was The Wonder Years a sitcom or a drama? It sort of bordered the line, very smart series.
-
This bit is a classic (towards the end)
-
Family Matters,Seinfeld,Roseanne,Fresh Prince of Bel-air,Sabrina, and my most favorite ALF
-
ALF, I nearly forgot about him. Only in the 80's could you have a sitcom like that.
They should bring Alf back again. XD -
This post is deleted!
-
The fact that only two people mentioned Seinfeld makes me want to vomit. How can you not surrender to the greatness that is "No soup for you!!!"?!
Anyway, as I said, Seinfeld would definately be my favorite. Then other shows like Alf (which kicks tons of ass) and stuff you used to find on Nick at Nite that I'm too lazy to mention.
-
I like Seinfeld, but it doesn't seem that old to me. XD
The last episode was appropriate…they all end up in jail for watching a fat guy get car jacked and not helping him. -
I can watch the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for hours on end so it's one of my favorites along with Dinosaurs. Dinosaurs was such a great show and I'm still amazed that they ended the show's run with the extinction of the entire cast.
-
They did? I never saw the end of that show. That's kind of sad. :P
-
How could I forget Dinosaurs, I loved that show. The granny and that baby, it was so awesome. The ending seems kind of depressing though.
-
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air & The Munsters all the way!
My nickname from my oldest sister is actually Herman, cause when I was very little and still couldn't talk good and I liked The Munsters, she called me a monkey and I replied "No I'm not! I'm a herman!" I failed to pronounce "human". From that day on, till even today, that is what she calls me.
-
The fact that MAS*H has yet to been mentioned hurts my soul. It's easily my favorite sitcom. Fresh Prince and The Andy Griffith show come in a close second.
Full House was terrible guys.
-
MAS*H was mentioned already.
I was going to mention it too, actually.I never liked Full House either…I went to the same high school as Jodie Sweetin though. That was kind of wierd.
-
Family Matters, Ahhh i loved that show
and married with children
-
Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Full House, Roseanne
-
I have a feeling this thread should be called favorite sitcoms from when you were a kid. Old to me is before color. At least 30 years. I guess color did start around then. But still, I see things like Fresh Prince and to me, that is not old.
-
NO COSBY SHOW? What is wrong with you people?
The cosby show was one of the best sitcoms ever.
-
How could I forget Dinosaurs, I loved that show. The granny and that baby, it was so awesome. The ending seems kind of depressing though.
man i had forgotten about it too. dinosaurs was so cool.
there was also "far from home". i think that was the name. you know, with the girl which father was some unknown extra-terrestrian and who could stop time by touching her fingers.
-
igalsfy, it was called " out of this world", I think. lol
I use to love that show but it was cheesy when you look back at it. The cosby show is still funny when i look at old episodes now. The only other show that is even close to that level is Roseanne.
The cosby show and Roseanne.
-
It's not really old, but would "Friends" count?
I loved that show. -
igalsfy, it was called " out of this world", I think. lol
yeah… probably XD
cheesy stuff FTW!
-
I remember "Out of This World". I also remember "Silver Spoon". I always wanted to have a game room like that kid had. I even watched "Three's Company" D:
I watched way too much TV when I was little. Now I don't watch hardly any.
-
Sanford and Son is by far my favorite, I still watch it to this day on TV Land. Welcome back Kotter was pretty good, except that it came on about the same time as FMA, so we always had to fight our dad to get the TV.
