It's a pad with a pen tool that you connect to your computer. You draw with the "pen" onto the pad to create drawings in graphics programs like Photoshop. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_tablet

Ty for the help and the links!
You might be thinking about Tablet PC…

Laptop and tablet in one package :]
I can't get nice lines with my tablet…I really suck at it. >M
The program and the settings have a lot to do with it. For one thing, in the tablet's preferences, you should have whatever program you're using added into it. You also need to adjust the pressure sensitivity to your personal likes, and in the graphics program, adust the flow/opacity.
That has nothing to do with it. I just can't keep it 100% steady while drawing so I get bumpy lines. I don't got this problem with a pencil on paper, but with a tablet it is a piece of plastic on a piece of plastic…so the pen tip doesn't actually STAY in place.
And my tablet doesn't have an option to add programs to it, it just works in programs. I wish I could get pressure sensitivity with handwriting in messenger tho..
You're still just getting used to it. After about a month or so, the lines will come more smoothly.
Yeah, it does take getting used to. Initially I was frustrated with the tablet. I even have trouble with smooth lines with real pencils. But the settings really DO make a difference. If you have to press hard to make good lines you're going to have more crooked lines. I don't use the tablet for drawing as much as coloring.
is it better to gop with a official brand like wacom or any brand will do?
I haven't used an off-brand to compare the difference, but I would think that a Wacom would be better…and maybe have a longer life. But I don't know, maybe not.
My wacom came with Photoshop and a mouse and has lasted 3-4 years now.
Yeah, nothing wrong with that. The Intuos are the more professional kind but they're very expensive and not something that someone just trying them out should go with initially.
I use my tablet for scanlation touchup works, mainly One Piece… ... I really bought it for scanlation use to save my time. lame It does help though, doing those touchups with mouse is like a living hell.
I got the same one that KaizokuFan22 linked, but in navy.
what do you need the tablet for?
I know my friend has a Wacom??
he uses it to draw our manga.
however he broke it about two months ago.
I believe that Panosonic has a toughbook tablet, but i'm not too sure how well it will hold up.

Mine's a lesser brand called Superpen. It's pretty cheap, I purchased a 6 x 8 one for only 100 bucks (I think its around the same price for an intuos 4 x 5?). I lost the pressure sensitivity cd so my strokes are all uniform It's still working after 4 years though, so I'm content.
Looks around Hm…seems like I'm the only one without a wacom? XD
I think my Wacom Intuos was $400 @_@
I got the same tablet it seems as ocean. It was $104.

For drawing Manga of course. and draw other misc.drawings too
For the manga artists would be the "Favo Comic Pack" a good choice. It contains a Wacom tablet, Manga Studio Debut 3.0 and Corel Painter Essentials 2.
Manga Studio Debut 3.0 is said to be the best program for drawing mangas and is really famous in Japan.
Well, I only read that and didn't try every feature of the program but the tablet is pretty good in my opinion. So you should google and check it out.
And I paid 100 euros… now it's cheaper again -.-

how much would 99,90 Euros be in US Dollars?

Go there, type in "wacom" in search box, and you might find some deal that you may like.

I think it is nearly the same. A little more or less but I'm not sure about that.
there is only a limited amount of the Favo Comic Pack in english available so you shouldn't wait too long if you want to have it.
EDIT: I looked it up after all. It's 130 dollar but I also saw it for less.

I got that, and while generally I figure out software myself very easily, I could not for the life of me figure how to do anything with Manga Studio.

did you try a tutorial? there are dozens on the internet.
I prefer photoshop anyway but I guess for drawing mangas like professionals manga studio is the best choice
@KaizokuFan22: Just look it up in the internet. There are sites with calculators for that.
