What DS Game Should I get…?

ZOMG I AM IN A PICKLE!!!

I'm thinking of getting a new DS game.

I got a DS before, and beat Partners in Time, Pheonix Wright (The first one; fantastic game, by the way), some Castlevania shit, and uhmmm… I think that's it.

Anyway, after that, I could care less about the DS, so I sold it. A year later, JUS was released and I got another DS and JUS.

So... right now I have JUS and the New Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros was beaten in... about 2 hours, and JUS is really fun but I kinda want another game to play.

Also, if it's Anime related (OP related), that's a real bonus.

It really depends on what kind of game you want. Like you want something to play over 10-20 hours then get FFIII or some other RPG. If you want a game you can pick up, play and really never gets boring, I would say "Tetris". If you want a game that use almost all the functions of the DS then get 'Hotel Dusk Room 215'. Its really hard to say, personally I think everyone I know who was played either Ouedan / EBA have loved it. BTW, PW2 pwns.

Well, I'm gonna go out on a limb and get FF3, since there are some great reviews on it, and it appears to be the greatest RPG.

I just like games with alot of playability, and PW… is like... well, let's just say it's too short and too repetitive. It's a great game, but once you beat it, that's it. You can't get better at it, you can't level up to the max level, you can't acquire all the items, you can't do any secret missions; and the worst one of all: you just can't replay it.

Trauma Center is AMAZING, though it's hard as shit. FF3 is really good, as well as Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents. Also, you could always buy the GBA One Piece game… it's just your basic side-scroller, but it's decently fun. I got it at EB Games for $12.99 used...

Have you considered Yoshi's Island, Mario vs DK 2, MegaMan ZX and Meteos? I've only managed to play Yoshi and Meteos but I've heard many good thinks about the other two.

Generally though it depends on your personal taste.

They were out of FF's (And I went to the store by the 4th post in this thread), so I got Pheonix Wright 2.

….this is retarded. What the hell have they done?! It was really cool up until it got all Anime Super Spiritual Action Line shit. I hate how they string up asking questions up to be some sort of spiritual connection thingy where you have to pull out some ancient medallion and unlock combos and use High Potions.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Wright jumped on the witness stand and churned out a Kamehameha wave.

I dunno, I found PW2 to be as fun as the first, at least with the chain things they are easy to figure out and you get health back from it.

I really don't mind the whole psych-lock, it makes the game a lot harder. Especially with the bar, this way you can't eff up 4 times, then get something right and eff another 4 times.

#4 looks like there won't be any psych-lock, unless Phoenix gives it to you in the 1st case. (Could happen)

They still had the spirit shit, and I didn't like it, but it was definately more low-key, and it wasn't a driving force in the plot.

I found Von Karma's little escapade in the Copier Room with the tazer (I think it was a Copier Room; I can't remember), incredibly unrealistic, but… jeeze.

At least murders didn't take place in public parks in the middle of the day, and attornety's didn't bring fucking whips into the court.

No, you are absolutely right in your judgement. You play as this guy named Gaylord Faggington and all you do is go around trying to meet guys to have gay sex with while music by the Village People plays in the background.

As for trauma center; like Bushido said, good game, hard as fucking hell. It's like actually being a doctor and actually saving someone's life.

Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime and Nintendogs are probably my top recommendations.

And if you're a Pokemon fan, Diamond and Crystal.

Yeah, Trauma Center is great. It may seem like something from E.R. and nothing too fancy, but partway it twists into a sort of conspiracy of a viral outbreak, and you must find out what's causing it.

You should definetely get Elite Beat Agents! It's a bit on the frustrating side, but that's what makes it so fun and challenging.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned the Age of Empires DS game. It is different from the regular PC games, but the touch screen is implemented well and the game is pretty cheap. Meteos and Elite Beat Agents are a lot of fun as well. The one issue with EBA is the difficulty. It is all memorization, as is the case with most rhythm games, and is pretty unforgiving as far as difficulty.

Well the reason I implied that Trauma Center was hard to find these days is because someone told me (about a year ago on this forum) that they were going to stop shipping the game to the US. Stupid lying bastards.

Handheld systems are often region free, because you take them places.

You should try getting some GBA games as well, since there are some pretty awesome ones out and they're getting cheaper since the system's becoming outdated. I just bought Drill Dozer last Saturday new for ten dollars.

Anyways, some good GBA games are Golden Sun, Advance Wars, and Fire Emblem.

For DS, I follow up on some other people and recommend Hotel Dusk and AWDS.
