This game is awesome!
I don't think I ever bothered with time trials though, I use it mostly for multiplayer. -
Oh god, I love this game. I'm the kind of guy who totally loves a game that beats my ass until I get the skill to viciously beat it back. Plus, this game is so damn intense! Very few games get me, literally, on the edge of my seat, and make me throw myself back on my chair, catching my breath, when it's over. F-Zero GX manages this.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that this game has what may be the best single game soundtrack to date. Don't believe me? Listen to the character themes in the profiles. Particularly Blood Falcon, Black Shadow, Pheonix, Super Arrow, Bio-Rex, and Leon.

49 seconds on Twist (first mute city track)
55 Seconds on Split oval
and 55 Seconds on Ordeal (yep 55 seconds on ordeal :D)
