I love this show. The stories are well-written, the characters are interesting, but most of all, the main character has heart. Betty has so much dedication and determination, she's true to herself and others, and brings out inner beauty. The whole show brings out the inner beauty of people. That, and I find Ugly Betty to be really sexy.
So does anyone else watch this show?
Looks interesting, Rootbeer-kun. I haven't watched it yet. I do love My Name is Earl, though. Maybe I'll try to watch this next week.

Saw it a couple of weeks ago, wasn't too interested in it. But thats probably cus it was in the middle of the series.

ABC borrowed the idea from a mexican soap opera that is a big hit in mexico.
actually, the original betty is from colombia… i watched it a long time ago... there are many versions, included an indian version

Sorry I only seen the mexican version since my mother watches it.
Damn that show was such a hit in Puerto Rico. I never saw my mom so obessed over a t.v show.
I have to say though, the american betty looks far better than the original colombian one.
My family loves this show.
The Ugly Betty girl won a lot of Golden Gobes. Beat off A LOT of good actresses.
I saw the ads for it in Australia.
I'm amazed that she is ACTUALLY ugly and in no way can be interpreted as pretty, aesthetically. Which makes me like her a lot more.

I probably could get into it because it seems like a genuinely funny show, but I really don't venture out of Adult Swim or South Park when it comes to keeping up with a show. Heros is really tempting me though.
 
The original was a big hit here too, airing on a controversial channel and in spite of the awful dub. And that Betty was even uglier, in the beginning at least.

I used to be like that. Couldn't watch anything out of animated adult sitcoms. Then I discovered a little fox sitcom called Titus. If you haven't seen it, I reccomend you find it. It's available on torrents as well as DVD. It's hillarious.
