Vegapunk Poll: Subtitles color

Ok. We had white subtitles, and a lot of people asked about yellow, so we thought yellow was preferred, so we went for a light/insaturated yellow, but it turns out that now a lot of people is asking for white. Logically, you can't please everybody so to set this once and for all, we are having this quick poll. If we get a consistent result today we will use the elected color from 295 onward.

Btw, the script for is done, we are fine timing it, expect a release in the next hour. The encoding will be done later today.

The white subtitles obviously have a greater contrast (because of the black stroke) which makes it easier to read them. Especially on a HD screen.

I agree with what mkt says about the contrast of the white text being easier to read. It also seems cleaner and more professional, in my opinion.

Hi, I just registred to say that i greatly preferr the white subtitles because of the black shadow…it is ture that the contrast is much better with the white subtitles ..

that creamy yellow blends too much into the screen making it hard to read. i think when ppl were asking for a yellow font they meant bright yellow like ur first release. but i think the white one is fine, looks alot like KF subs, definately stay from that creamy yellow

ya it makes sense to switch from yellow to white…for clearer text
but makes no sense to switch from white to yellow...i see no benefit in this change

White looks the best IMO, yellow is kinda distracting as with white it blends in no matter what, It is bold when it is dark but is not to distracting through the episode.

Between these two, white, but I wish the yellow option was the standard R1 DVD-subtitle yellow, not a yellow that seems intent on making reading difficult.

White looks best. I think you should lower the font size a tad though, if you compare your subs with pretty much every other fansub out there the font is much bigger.
