Every week Shonen Jump RAWs are released, and among the titles present are fan favorites like Naruto, Bleach and of course One Piece. But every week, there's one other SJ Raw I download, which I admit is a guilty pleasure.

Taizo is… how should I put this.

No… maybe...

Yeah… then add some...

… with a sprinkle of...

And you get Taizo. Crazy as hell, with some weird fetish for Jojo's Bizaare Adventure, it's true beauty lies in the fact that most of it's weirdness translates well without any knowledge of Japanese (though that doesn't stop my curiousity…) Also, the women don't just react to the jokes like in Bobobo they actually take part in them. Good stuff all around.

Jump's paper is horrible, though to print weekly like that I don't blame them.

Edit: Found a site that explains some of the parodies. It makes it seem a little more clever. I'm still trying to find something similar for Bobobo.

Oh yeah, another critique I've heard of this series… it's pretty much just Jump parodies and nothing really original. So it gets kind of stale.

They showed the main character's penis in Juuki too (that recently added Jump series by the Shaman King author). I'm sure Goku's penis was shown several times in Dragonball as well.

Nipples were also shown in DB, when Yamcha beat the invisable man (if that Taizo site I linked to is accurate), and the main character in To-Love-Ru's nipples are exposed in the latest chapter. So nudity and sexual innuendo in Jump series isn't uncommon…

Anyways, if the Table of Contents is still a measure of popularity in Jump, then Taizo is pretty high this week, beating out even Bleach.

It's not that hard to guess; if a series is constantly dangling at the bottom of the Table of Contents than chances are it's gonna get axed pretty soon. Mangahelpers actually has an entire thread dedicated to ToC analysis.

Not to mention the LJ I post at always analyzes and makes silly commentary about rankings.

I got a good look at the final Taizo and Maison Du Penguin for the sake of seeing how they end…and somehow, comedy series are a lot harder to end in that you can do one of those "life goes on" endings where nothing gets resolved and actually get away with it. Though personally I think Penguin's final chapter was a bit more adventurous (the author tries to prove that this actually "is" the final chapter, they blow the whole apartment up in some stupid manner), Taizo...well, its over.

Yeah, when Ritual posts a list of the series appearing in the next Jump, if a series is going to be cancelled they'll signify it (by putting in "fin" to designate it as the fianl chapter).

Taizo's been slipping for a while, so I always figured it was going to go soon. The ToC isn't always a perfect science, since sometimes dragging series will appear much higher than they usually do, so it's best to look at it in a scope of its overall performance…

Ritual's down for me so I can't really check to see which series are dragging.

No, those were not in the actual magazine. They are extra incentives for people to buy the compiled book.

Yeah I doubt that Bo-bobo is gonna get cancelled. I mean, Jugar is pretty much last every week and it has gotten cancelled. Or has it? If so thank god.

Jaguar gets the last slot on purpose. Its the series that gets next to Jaguar that pretty much next on the chopping block.

Usually, if a longer running series is at the bottom of the rankings for a while, then they get the signal to go…particularly if they are nearing the end of their run anyway.

As for who's next, there are a few series that are either weak now or closing in on a termination point. My notables:

-Bo-bobo: It hasn't been as hot as it was when it first started, but I think Sawai is starting to wrap things up anyway from recent story suggestions.

! Baldy-Bald the Third pretty much has declared one final war against anyone against him, including former allies and fist users, and Bo-bobo's team has come together one last time to put a stop to him. They could somehow still go with revealing Bababa-ba Ba-baba if they want to do more story after this, but I think once they beat the Third (now powered with Bi-bibi's Hair Ball), that's it.

-Prince of Tennis: It seems like there is one final match left and it has been at bottom a few times..but the yaoi fans probably don't want to let it go

-Eyeshield 21: This is really popular, but with recent events I don't know what they could do.

! They are nearing the end of the semi-final game with Ojo and the game after this, if Deimon wins, is the Christmas Bowl itself. Since these Kanto games starting with Shinryuji have been a half-year each, I could probably see a half-year for the Christmas Bowl and that's it. Sure people will complain that they could have "another year", but it probably wouldn't be as fun.

-D.Gray-Man: Low rankings, enemies being stopped…I don't know if this will last too much longer but I never followed the series so I can't say.

-P2!: This series has been the "little series that could", but that means nothing if several stronger new series comes along and bump it out.

I wish I could add Naruto and Bleach to the list, but odds are that Kishimoto and Kubo will stall it out for all its worth.

Yeah, Jaguar is pretty much a huge Jump injoke. One detail I liked in JUS was how Jaguar was left out of the instruction booklet until the last page (if I remember right). I wish I knew japanese, the series seems hilarious.

The same mangaka did a series I'm interested in called "Sexy Commando Gaiden." It's pretty much the father of modern gag manga.

Well this is the same series that was thrown out of the JUS circle by Hokuto no Ken (guess with uber-guys like them and all the other characters, weirdoes with recorders isn't the most impressive battle tactic in the universe)

Sad to see Taizo go. I had just found a doujin for it which, as we all know, is the measure for success in Japan. Hope it's given an "afterlife" via anime, or at least a cameo in SBR. Maybe the mangaka can work on something new...

And I'm a little puzzled why Cap'n Carter would go out of his way to drag this topic up from it's grave to post this news...

I can give you scans that compare the two if you want (I have been reading To-LOVE-ru since it started…). In the WSJ version, there is always hair or bubbles covering spots where nipples should be.
