I just want to make a few comments about this release. Yes, I am the only person in Sakura Destiny Fansubs right now. However, Kuzan's group deserves as much or more credit than me, and I could not release without their efforts and the timed scripts they provide. In fact, once I got the script, I didn't need to make any changes to the timing, and I only made a few edits to the subs, mainly a couple of spots where I thought the wording sounded a little awkward. I may be asking for help soon, especially with distribution, but I want to take another week or two to figure out exactly what I can and can't do and where I could best use assistance.
I'm sorry that some of you have been unable to watch it, or have had serious problems. As far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong with the file (plays fine for me with no skips or synchronization problems). I have a feeling that a lot of people need to upgrade their hardware in order to properly watch high definition video. A lot of these same kind of problems have been mentioned in the RAW thread since the HD RAWs started being released. I used the latest stable Xvid codec for encoding if that helps anyone. Thanks to everyone who has offered suggestions on different players and settings to use. I had considered also releasing a 704x396 version, but ADC is already doing that (and they should get caught up soon after Wickio finishes his exams next week). I decided it would be better to focus my efforts on the HD releases.
As far as future releases, I would like to continue releasing ASAP after receiving the script rather than spending extra days trying to add special fonts and effects. If I learn how to do things like karaoke and animated attack fonts, or if I end up finding someone else who can do it, I may add those later. So, basically, Sakura Destiny Fansubs will be first and foremost a speed-subbing group, but I will definitely try to make improvements as time permits. I'll think about using white instead of yellow for the font and play around with some other font styles, but I am leaning toward not making any significant changes. Some people liked what I used, and some didn't, which will be the case regardless of what font I use (check out the Gerusama subforum if you don't believe me…).
Anyway, thanks again for all your comments. I'll do my best to keep putting out quality releases as long as I can.
