Im new here and the topic I searched I didnt see any like what I wanted to make.. so if there is any please direct me to it.

I was just wondering how extremely powerful exactly were the ancient weapons, and what made them so..

I mean if they were just huge you would think someone would have found it out by now..
But the way croc made it sound was just by having one you could gain much power, and actually make attacks against larger groups(WG?)

I had the thought that mabye the Ancient Civ. had the technology on infusing DF with things and thats what they did to this war weapons, and that is what makes them so powerful.
Also is there a chance that Oda will end up having someone end up using one. Cause if he does I wonder how he would do it, since I dont think that anyone controls one now..

Also on a side note.. During the whole Ohara thing.
Is the world gov. afraid of them at some point or anyother being able to find one of the ancient weapons?
I know they are scared of the Rio Poneglpyh being read because of what it would reveal.

It seems that these ancient weapons are powerful enough to take over countries by themselves. I guess that means that it could perhaps be able to destroy a country on its own.

Also with Ohara, the WG didn't want anyone to be able to read them so no one would find these weapons. That is why they destroyed everything and everyone on Ohara, save Nico Robin.

No matter how powerful the weapons are I fail to see how they would be defendable from people like Aokiji. Plus, Aokiji could take over a country by himself pretty easily too unless someone had a way to fight his logia power. The weapons must be special indeed or else need protection from the fearsome individual warriors that roam the Grand Line slicing up ships with a single swipe of thier sword.

If Pluton wasn't a ship, why would shipwrights from Water 7 hold the blueprints, and why would Kaku and Lucchi (who posed as shipwrights) be the only ones to recognize it when Franky showed the plans to CP9?

As for what type of ship, that's debatable. The word "Ancient Weapons" is in quotations. For all we know, they could've been used for defense. Perhaps at one time the Seakings nested in the Grand Line, too, so they used these "weapons" to blow them up.

well you know i think they are ancient weapons build by ancient mighty people who now does no longer excist do to the damage of time.
The WG proberly wants the weapons to gain full controll, even though i think they only know about one the excisting of one weapon

Also a side note to the Blue Prints Frankie had. I believe they are copies of the originial, going back way much in the generations somebody found the original blue prints as a Poneglyph and just drew them after not knowing they where pans for a weapon only seeing they where plans for a ship, until he realized what they where and decided to conceil them.

I think, considering most of the OP world is covered in water, it is quite reasonable for them to not have found any of the weapons yet. I mean, think about how we JUST now discovered Black-Beards ship.

The ocean is vast, and very deep. Plus, it could be like Shenron. It only appears once you gather all the ponelygraphs (I'm being serious here).

Whoever said the WG doesn't want people to read the poneglyphs to find weapons is wrong… Its because it tells the truth of the world, including censored history concerning them and how they took over the world.

Those blueprints held by Franky were kept to be built if Pluton ever got revived so the world stood a chance against it. Its a warship of sort, one that the shipwright had been praying on those blueprints as a way of dealing with it in case it fell in the hands of a madman. Franky said when he destroyed they'd have to find a way to deal with it if it got revived without being able to create another because he didn't want Spandam to get them.

Pluton is in Alabasta.... Croc said it did not matter if Robin told him where it was. The idea behind that is if his plan had succeeded Pluton was automatically his because as ruling cast he had full rights to look for it unquestion and even though its a big country, with his DF powers sooner or later he'd found it.

Not much else to talk about... Suppose to be strong enough to take out any island... Make the WG tremble... Etc..

How great a weapon could it be if shipwrights could build one using existing materials? That means that the ship is merely a matter of engineering using technology already available. If that's the case then weapons of similar power should be constructable too. After all, if England had lost the first Dreadnaught nothing would have stopped them from building another battleship.

Sorry, old topic bump.

My theory might be a bit abstract, but I also think Devil Fruits are somehow connected to the Ancient Kingdom and their advanced scientific research. If Pluton was one of the most dangerous weapons on the planet and we already know how dangerous Devil Fruit users can be (Earthquake fruit = possible tidal wave across the world, etc), it's plausible that Pluton somehow makes use of several such powers at once, and that the fruits resulted from some kind of residual fallout from a massive nuclear-scale catastrophe.

The World Government may have been behind this because someone might have succeeded where Spandam didn't, all those centuries ago - and the resulting theoretical catastrophe was terrible enough that it constitutes the unspeakable events of the Blank Century. A massive world scale warship, or at least the raw powers of the Devil Fruit, could explain how the water on the planet acts as an engineered countermeasure for such abilities, since it's the biggest possible area covering the most of the planet and can act as a balance by keeping the powers in check. This would explain why fruit users become hammers when submerged below a certain point in water.

Vegapunk was able to conduct intensive research on Devil Fruits and even 'feed' them to inanimate objects, after all. And due to current events, we know it may be possible for objects to be engineered to absorb more than one power. Pluton might have had a design that allowed it to do just that, which is why it was so dangerous. It's already such a big deal to have two powers in the hands of one person.

Nobody imagined that something like a nuclear bomb was possible before Einstein in our world. After seeing Vegapunk creating a cyborg and 'implementing' DF to a material, I don't think it's hard to imagine some crazy weapons. Each island on GL is at a different level of science, meaning that an island might still be stuck to use fire as a light source while another island might be using lamps. This is evident from stories of Montblanc Norland and Calgara. Introduction to Skypia's dials complicates things far more. It's quite actually believable that such a weapon exists IMO.

well one think is sure that all the weapons have the same names as ancient greek gods.. pluton and poseidon for excample.. maybe the one named after zues would be the most destructfull. or propubly its the same as the storie of the olympians and the titans wher the titans were casted away in a pridsn in the sea… propably just like the weapons are hiden somewhere.

Eh, my two cents is that the Ancient Weapons were not created to destroy and conquer, as the Government had led the world to believe, but rather were used to protect and defend. That the Ancient Weapons were created as an absolute last resort to protect/defend the lost Ancient Civilization from an invading enemy so huge and powerful, it could drag an entire island country the size of Alabasta down into the dark depths of the ocean and breaking the island in half. A mammoth creature larger than the Red Line itself, controlled by the World Government 800 years ago and has slept ever since; waiting to be used again (probably in the upcoming World War that Whitebeard was talking about before his death)

….THE KRAKEN.

(Why else would this Ancient peaceful civilization need a multitude of weapons capable enough to destroy entire islands?)

interesting thought. of course, i've spread my theory on the devil fruits all over this forum. they are not the weapons, but it goes to show that simply the 'power to destroy an island' is not enough. the ancient weapons, and the fight to obtain them, would 'destroy the world itself.' we know the weapons (at least pluton) still exist in this world … and are capable of being re-created by a skilled shipwright. we have to assume the WG has searched as much of the world as they control, and not found them. yet, crocodile believed he could reach the hiding place, without having to travel all the way to raftel:

so the weapons must be buried/submerged somewhere on/under the grand line. trying to salvage at random would never work, you need the poneglyphs to give the exact location before you dig/dive down to find them.

if we assume the carvers of the poneglyphs are the same as the builders of the ancient weapons, then we could guess that both are made with the same indestructible materiels/construction. and could survive a thousand years of hiding.

If it could destroy a whole island, the closest thing to that would be the ship that destroyed skypiea.... with the lightning devil fruit powers it destroyed skypiea and part of jaya...

also, the blueprints franky had, why else would they be passed down from shipwright apprentice's??

because it could be a ship.... the world gov. did not want anyone to know of this because if pirates got a hold of this so called ship "Pluton" it could mean disaster....

I think that those ancient weapons were so much advanced for their time, like nowadays stuff from Vegapunk.
No other technology came even close to those weapons, which maybe had the power like a Buster Call or even surpassed that with only one ship(Pluton).

So were quick a lot of myths about those powerful weapons around the world and thats how they got famous.
Those who used them back in the time(the ancient kingdom), soon realized that they were just too powerful for their time and thats why they sealed them.
(Hide them somewhere, blueprints only reachable via reading the poneglyphs)

I guess now with a man like Vegapunk around, those weapons aren`t anymore that superadvanced like back in those days 700-800 yrs ago, but still enough to destroy a marine-battleship easily and could be called the strongest man made weapons ever.
Thats why the WG still wants them, because someone like Vegapunk could rebuild them in that way that nothing would ever be able to stop them..means they could just like that end the era of pirates and take over the whole world without anyone revolutionarys.

I am guessing that the Ancient Weapons are somehow connected to Devil Fruits. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ancient Weapons are actually the source of the devil fruits. A machine that could create Devil Fruits. That would explain why it has plans that can be build. It would also explain it's immense potential for destructions since if you have a dozen Logia on your side….well that's better then nukes. That would also explain the different Devil fruits. Three different machines for three different type of devil fruits.

Skypiea was never destroyed.
I think you're getting it confused with Angel Island, which was part of Skypiea. And it wasn't a ship, it was Enel's raigoh or whatever.
You need to reread the Skypiea Saga.
