@joekido:
Having to be one of the greatest One Piece editor on the OP Wikia, I come to expand this series that was said to be popular and greatest. Now, I'm under doubt, I have lost the feeling that One Piece is popular. The question is; is it really a masterpiece? What can it be done to be one?
I spent a short while on Arlong Park Wiki and a long time in OP Wikia trying to make this series as big as possible, althought reality took a hard slam on me. I've always wanted this series to be a masterpiece like Star Wars or biggest-best known like the Muppets but it's like I'm working to materialize tha goal but it comes out as an disappointing result.
People praised One Piece like they praised Final Fantasy 7, people would say "Naruto is like a novel, One Piece is kinda bland like Naruto, One Piece is no better then Naruto" Having to go through the doubt, I'm on the brink of losing my interst.
Is One Piece is really a masterpiece or is that just a typical fan praise? Or will by, any chance will One Piece be an biggest known pop culture worldwide like Muppets or Star Wars? I strive to find out.
Thank you kido! Thank you for making this thread!
Ever since I joinned this community, I had the desire to post something about my impressions on One Piece, but thought it would be corny on my behalf.
Listen, I´m not a fruit or an emotional guy, but dang it… while reading the manga I almost freakin cried! Not only once but twice!!! First when Nami asks Luffy to take care of Arlong and second, when Robin yells that she wants to live and be taken by her nakamas to sail the seas! To these were the most important events... the ones that made me say to myself "wow, this is one heck of a manga"!
I´ve read and watched Dragonball/Z, I´ve watched a couple of Naruto´s episodes and a couple of Pokemon´s episodes, but never had the experience of such a strong feeling. I don´t know or can think of a way in which my life relates somehow to anything that Oda has written so far, but these two "moments" hit me on my sentimental side.
That is why, I truely belive that OP is all about following your dream´s and loving/caring about your family or nakama. This concept to me is pretty honorable... concept that differ from other animes/mangas that you can get jack out of it.
Can´t really say if its a masterpiece, but it´s got me. I´m an enthusiast and I share Oda´s sentimental, comic and adveturous drive. To me, it doesn´t matter how big OP is... what matter is how its essence can captivate the reader.
