On the back of the 10th anniversery calendar in issue 4-5 I saw something interesting. It seemed like a new one piece 2d fighting game. It showed luffy and franky fighting at water 7. Does anyone know what this is?

Well, first… The OP game seems to be a DS game. That racing game is a PSP game.
Everyone knows the DS has worse graphics than the PSP.
Anyways, it is kinda grainy. Though that's most likely the fault of the picture/scan. Let's wait till a more clearer picture.
But just because something is 2-D... Doesn't mean it has bad graphics.

I have to agree with Zulen on this one. In that particular screenshot, the graphics look worse than normal.
However the other screenshots of the New OP game look pretty good. The screenshot with Luffy & Ussop vs Morgan & Helmeppo look great.
Also looking at the screenshots, it looks like there are 2 completely different new OP games.

Yes! I was going to separate that but then decided otherwise because while there is apparantelly (sp) an image of Robin, we have no proof that it's actually her.
First of all, the image is blurry, and the image cut off where she would be standing.

I would still rather have NES graphics then spend my money on a pathetic PSP.
So the One Piece RPG is only out on cell phones? If the game has a engine similar to Super Mario RPG, I would import it. Or something along the lines to playing it.
On second glance, those graphic are even worse than I thought. I'd rather play a Virtual Boy than look at those poor graphics.(this is coming for a guy who still plays 2-D fighters. The RPG game still looks excellent tho.

And yes it's robin and luffy vs arlong , luffy and usopp vs morgan and helpoema, and chopper vs a fishman.
Also the game looks like it has horrible graphics because it's really a close up shot, from far away it doesn't look too bad. Though maybe someone could translate the japanese text by and underneath the photo

So the game might not be just like One Piece, but as long as the game is FUN, who cares. I would still play it just to test it out, as would many people. Mainly because of the One Piece name, but for the RPG system.

C. Plenty of Americans enjoy handheld items. It's hard to go anywhere in America without seeing someone with a mobile phone. Telephones are not designed specifically to play games (Except for the N-Gage, which was awful, and don't even try to argue that.). Either way, "Japanese people want to play One Piece games on their mobile phones" is a weird-as-hell generalization to make. The point that I was trying to make here was that a handheld game to be played on a medium that is specifically meant to play handheld games sounds more appealing than a handheld game to be played on a medium that is not specifically meant to play handheld games.

C_True, my brother plays his Nintendo DS nonstop, still cell phones are designed to also play games as well, the graphics may not be the best but they can still have other features besides making calls. I also played the N-Gage as well; it is something that made me want to wash my hands and eyes off with bleach to make the burning of that filth stop.
