Because it's the two most successful, biggest shonens since DBZ, and the fact they both take place in not too different fantasy worlds so the crossover wouldn't feel too weird, contrary to Bleach or Eyeshield 21.

As for me, I'd like to see a OP/Gunnm crossover. Just to see Franky and Gally interacting. That'd easily beat SteveRessel's wacky Franky/Robin pairing.

Apparently you missed the latest One Piece/Dragon Ball crossover where there was no fighting whatsoever.

And not to start another "WHO TEH STRONGGEST???" meaningless debate, but I don't understand this thing about the Naruto cast not being up to scratch in the power department. I'd say there's some pretty impressive characters in Naruto, especially for 12/15 year old kids.

Hmm, crossover…

Well, a good crossover needs fairly compatible worlds, something that will act as a draw for fans of both series, a decently paced and reasonable plot, good character interaction without butchering their base personalities, and a resolution that makes sense and doesn't leave the fans with the hope that it will never happen again.

What I suggest, however, is none of the above.

Naruto and La Blue Girl. Sick, pervy, and Rock Lee isn't held back by his inability to perform genjutsu or ninjutsu. Plot? Find it if you can!
