Anyone Able to Translate Japanese(need translator)

Hello everyone. My colored manga project has been going very slowly but I am dedicated to it. but there's a huge roadblock. Ok more like a roadblock thatleads to a huge rock with a cliff on the other side, which if I hit any part will likely stop this project.

Whats the wall? I need a translator. All I need is for the chapte rto be proeprly translated, directly and grammatically correct(grammatically english wise) and I can adapt it to english terms pretty well. a couple tranlsation notes every few chapters when things are lost in translation. Thats it. You find a raw, make a script, and thats it. you are done. Tats all I need. THe coloring is slow, so it'll be awhile before anything needs more translating, so about 5 chapters ahead of current release is perfect.

THats the job description. About as easy as trnalsating can get.

Also, if anyone wants to try their hand at Cel Shading, let me know.

theres a tutorial. Do a few random pages with your own colors, post them here, and if you have a little dedication your on the team. Its just you, some extra time to kill, and about 16-23 pages of chaptery goodness that needs to be colored. I'll send the pages over, you color it.

So if anyone can do this, even if only for about the first 5 chapters or so, that'll be fine, thats what we are trying out. So please, we need help, or we arn't gonig anywhere. We only have a couple others, please help.

I did my Avatar un like a few minutes, i didn't have time to pick proper colors really. I just made it because people are always going "Dragons so cool!!!!" so I tohught they'd be interested in seeing a cel shaded dragon.

And sorry, I said it was a quick job. And I don't know what a Vegeta is, I don't watch dragon ball. I just made everything cast a shadow. Geesh.

I have a few examples of the real work through out the forum. If you want to check those out, theres a few over on KF and my new Signature(if it would work) has clips of the sky and some birds and Luffy's head.

I can translate Japanese to an extent, it depends.
First of all, is it Romaji, or regular Japanese?
And if it is in Japanese, it's the Kanji that I didn't learn enough while I was in Japan…

It isn't a scar. He is really muscular. You can tell my looking at the shading lines.

As for the translation, it is normal Kanji, and I cannot supply the text. I found some raws online, already cleaned and everything, also missing text, or in a couple cases a little text, as well as few already, but badly, translated.

did yo use the color replacement tool?

If you didn't you'll need to clean Shank's hair and do that again, the red shine needs to be a bit more pink and there's a texture in there that looks like an uncleaned scan.

I can translate to and from Japanese perfectly, but I'm not entirely sure I want to waste my life working for somebody who's apparently an egotistical, hardheaded butthole who doesn't know how to type properly =\ If you could convince me that you're worth my time, sure I can do it without a problem.

Btw, out of interest, does "translating" include typesetting? Because if it includes typesetting for 430 chapters, that's quite a time commitment.

(As for credentials, I'm Japanese-born-in-America, native of both languages. Attended school in both languages throughout my school career, and am at about the 2nd kyu in terms of kanji proficiency (that's high school level… way above comic stuff).)

And yes, I can type properly. I do it fast, sometimes certain finers hit the keys first.

All I need is a script with the text on it, I'll add the text in using photoshop and you can double check it if you want.

And I'm really not an annoying jerk once you get to know me.

There's the forum, for anyone who wants to join. The link for the Cel Shading tutorial is up there. Once I make someone crew they'll have access to the private crew only forums. I'll be posting a couple of topics there. Most notably how our system will work.

And rs, be, erm, kinder in the future? I mean, since when am I egotistical? I've been told occasionally annoying, but certainly not egotistical. I hate people with huge egos.

Anyway, sure, I'll take the position temporarily (let's say in the fashion that Nami initially accepted Luffy's proposal). We'll see how things work out between us, and decide whether we can work together ^^

I'll start translating from chapter 1 in the next few days… Btw, when I translate, if you have any questions with a translation, feel free to ask me, and if you have a better way to say things that work into the text bubbles, feel free to change it - once I give it to you, all rights go to you ^^

Haha I figured there was something to that.

Start from Chapter 2, we're skipping over 1 since Oda already colored most of it apparantly. And coloring takes forever so just do it when you get time, since it won't be done for awhile.

Anyway, if cell shading is where you don't blend anything, I don't want to join.

I'm pretty sure that is soft shading.

Cel sading is the cartoony style, Soft Shading is more focused on blending tihngs together and is very specific on lighting and such.

If you want to join you could be a soft shader, but I don't see a very big point, since we already have one and they don't come up much. But I'm sure Silk will like the extra help, he's busy with Photoshop so he's on terms wher ehe only does a bit every month and the most.

EDIT: I'd also like to point out Cel Shading is like my signature and avatar currently, both are my Cel Shading.

No offense, but I don't think your coloring skills are that great… your colors are flat (especially the backgrounds), and your skin tones are extremely yellowed and not skin-ish at all.

I'd either practice for several months, or just leave colored manga to the colorists, if I were you. ^^;

hmmm…..You have a good point on the skin colors. Didn't notice until now. Better pinken them up a bit.

They look better when I pick them.
