Ace, Smoker, and Ao Kiji are probably the weakest candidates for their respective traits; however, that's really only because of their strong senses of responsibilities and principles.
Take note that Ao Kiji and Smoker are a couple of marines that haven't had their senses of justice corrupted yet. For Ao kiji, it's because he's apathetic to morals and ethics, so his morale wasn't that strong to begin with, meaning there's not much feeling of justice to turn into madness. Ao Kiji still follows orders because of a very well thought out sense of principle.
For Smoker, although he's annoyed all the time, he actually has a kind heart, so he's not one to lash out at innocent people. He is, however, excessively stubborn and is also rather disobedient and disrespectful to his superiors.
Ace is actually quite gluttonous, but is also intelligent and suave. Thus, although he eats a lot, doesn't pay his bills, and randomly joins parties, he does take his missions seriously, and can be responsible as a officer of Whitebeard.
Crocodile actually fits greed extremely well. Although he doesn't seem too enthusiastic about material wealth, despite owning a luxurious casino, he is extremely ambitions in his goals. The reason is because he knows that the world can't be dominated by wealth alone, but that it must need military force, so his ambitions are more focused with war capability.
Take note that the Logia users are all intelligent and powerful individuals, so you'd have to consider their characters differently than weak stupid fools with the same sins.
PS. Luffy is a glutton, which makes Ace's role as a glutton plausible.
