It will be like Ichigo Mashimaro with Chibis,Parodies of Anime,Movies,Video Games, and Fanservice and i will put myself with Catears like Akira in Dr.Slump
What if you create your own manga series
-
-
Mine will probably be like VGcats; some nut who has no friends, so he has to make a bunch of comics that spout random nonsense.
That's what I'm striving for.
Well, I might try to make a comic like One Piece, but I doubt it would be as climactic. I'd work more towards the humor factor as opposed to the actiony stuff.
Don't get me wrong, it'd have that too, but I'd rather laugh at a series as opposed to yawning at two bulky hunks screaming a bunch of stuff in another language, throwing punches, and toppling buildings.
-
I'd like mine to be something unique and different. Especially the style of the art. I'd like it to look like tough jojo guys, but yet also a little bit childish like one piece.
Though the storyline too would be unique and different.
-
I'd like to tell a story of ordinary beings in ordinary roles, where the drama comes from interpersonal clashes and the setting. In a sense, closer to an Eyeshield 21 than a One Piece, and certainly not a Bleach or Naruto.
Specific details: The characters would be a race of anthromorphic dragons, who occupied the Earth (think Arlong Pirates with wings) in the 2040s.
These particular dragons work at a scrapyard for the state-run railway, a showcase of the new government. We open with the personal scuffles as new workers are assigned and have to find their place in the pecking order. Much of the early series is designed so as to show readers as much as possible of the world it's occuring in, via away-trip stories The change in the series' tone occurs when a court decision forces the government to denationalise the railway, so the chief executive decides to order the entire thing knocked and worn to peices before the deadline for returning it to its former private owners. While the characters' workload is now much greater, they now have to find strategies to proceed past the day they all know they're being sacked.
The final chapter would be mostly shots of the now-abandoned buildings and equipment the readers would be familiar with, and a final page where all the characters come back together for a send-off just as the final closing order takes effect.
There's probably HUGE logical flaws.
-
The story would be spectacular. The art would be phenominal. It would have the potential to change the entire world, but no one would read it because there'd be a nake picture of whoopi goldburg on the cover.
-
Mix of Gun-Kata, humor, and fanservice is my ideal manga.
-
I've already kinda designed one, but I can't draw. That's the only problem. It's got humor and action and I'm trying to make charecter development. Not much fan service, though.
-
I was thinking this another day… A super hero comic for pacifists: it would probably be called "Peace Enforcers" and it would have Jesus, Gandhi and Stalin forming a team to fight evil with nonviolent methods. And I'm not freaking joking!

So every furry fanfic ever made, gotcha.

And what have you contributed to the discussion?

I've actually been working on a manga for the past two years. I may post it on this forum one day. Fire Emblem and Tales of Symphonia are my main inspiration for the style of it. I'm not the artist, BTW. I can post a few pics of some characters. They're VERY early, haven't updated them in a while.
BTW, this seems like it'd be more suited to being under the creativity forum.
-
Basically, mine has little bits taken from all my fav mangas/animes. OP, Naruto, Bleach, D. Gray-man, FMA, MÄR. It kicks ass, though.
-
Well I'm basically making one, I just need to learn how to draw. I've already written out the entire storyline and created lots of characters and nearly half of them are developed.
It's a work in progress but the only thing I'm really worried about is my lack of drawing.
-
That's my problem as well.
-
I've been working on mine for about a year. It's pretty darn awsome so far. The only problem is that I have trouble drawing whatever's in my head. =/
-
I've been working on my series for about 2 years - and I've been only working on storyline. I wanted my "manga" to be a different style.
Cuz, pirates have been taken by One Piece, ninja's by Naruto, etc.
so, I'm doing a racing styled manga. It's not like Initial D. This one is like more Shonen styled with more alive drawings. Racing as in "racer cars" with mind blowing racing teams with out of this world abilities which gives the series a twist. I think I've posted a very old verion of my series when I was starting a while back, but this new and improved version is much better. ^_^ -
Just one question is it possible to copyright the entire manga to your name, so if a publisher cancels the manga then I can just take it to another publisher?
-
My mangas about people who are experimented on to serve as a turning point in the war between 2 countries. The main antagonist was the final experiment to be worked on, and he was shutdown when the project was abandoned. He now has amnesia, and the only thing he can remember is to destroy the Sky Country. In the same lab he wakes up in, he meets his future mentor, Abel, who tells him of how he was betrayed by his country, and destroyed by the Earth Country. With fuel to destroy both countries, and with his amazing powers to control the Clouds, Kumo and Abel journey the globe, gathering other experiments, and eventually hope to form the 3rd power in the war of 2 countries.
-
Mine doesn't target a particular group of people, it sort of just starts it's own group. Although, in it are some people who do belong to a certain group, like ninjas or samurai or vampires.
-
I could totally write a comic series. I can draw relatively well, I've got a (hopefully) good story planned out, lots of unique characters and scenarios, action, humour, et cetera.
I'm just too lazy to make it.
And what have you contributed to the discussion?
I was wondering the same thing (especially since there were no Furries mentioned in that o_O ).
-
It's not that I'm too lazy (which I probably am), but I just can't draw.
-

What do you want me to say? "Hey guys this is my comic that I'm writing, it's a lot like One Piece/Dragonball/Naruto/Bleach/Good Times except everyone is a robot version of Martin Luther. But my fingers are too fat to hold a pen properly so I won't be able to do it right now but hopefully I can find someone to do all the work for no money. :( "
And furries don't always have furs. They sometimes have scales, slimes, but they always have the same smell and roll around in the same filth.
-
You always find a way to throw a '70s black sitcom into the works, don't you?
-
I already am working on making my own comic. I'm not gonna say anything about it though.
-

The point I was trying to make make in saying "It would be more like ES21 than OP or Bleach" was to say "it's not a story with super powers, or doing things that change the world, it's a story about small, rather ordinary lives." Although both ES21 and OP are shonen series, and have somewhat absurd displays of characters, at the end of their respective series, the accomplishments of a character like Ryokan Kurita are not in the same league as those of a Roronoa Zoro. That doesn't make his story less compelling.
I tried to draw a page of it once. Damn tablet makes my drawing style even worse than with pencil and paper. I fully expect to never see it realized (I know there isn't enough story as it is to fill up 10 chapters, let alone 100 or more)
And furries don't always have furs. They sometimes have scales, slimes, but they always have the same smell and roll around in the same filth.
So, from this we can conclude you've spent a great amount of time sniffing various furries and watching them roll around in filth. Pervert.

I have something I'm working on currently.
It's… Well not really much more than a bunch of people with weird powers currently, in a setting similar to American superhero comics and done in a manga-like style at this point. I don't really have much of a plot yet, just some of the characters so far.
Unfortunately, I happen to work incredibly slowly, so I doubt I'll have much started on this any time soon.
-
Aside from my series that I have, I'm drawing up characters for a new one, I spent hours drawing 2 people last night. >_>
-
@Impel:
It's not that I'm too lazy (which I probably am), but I just can't draw.
Except very few, nobody can't draw without years of proper practice. So everybody can draw, even you, but it's just a matter of putting a lot of effort, mind and time into it. You have to draw and to draw and to draw. It's something which you have to earn.
-
I probably need to learn how to. Because I took a camp and I worked on one page for about the entire day and it still came out as shit.
-
actually, I'm making a comic
its pretty much the equivelant of shonen, and I have an illustrator. He draws and I write, pretty much.
I work on character development for most of the day and then write out more of the story. I'll just put up in the three main characters.
Felix- He just had moved into a new city with his family. Taking time in a dojo back in his old town, he spent most of the time learning technique and going to school and less time being friendly. Being the loner, he doesn't make friends in his new school but one girl seems to find an attractive side to him when she finds him practicing his art in a field.
Terry: A thirty five year old construction worker that served in the army in the 70's. He lost an arm during the war and decided to just build a new one. He has interesting work in gadgets and works on his arm constantly, and later it becomes useful such as the grenade arm, arm cannon, and arm blade that is equipped. He lives for his wife and newborn child.
Felar(doesn't have a real name) Leader of a Yakuza, he is only but fifteen years old. The Yakuza he leads was his father's till the apparent death. Though it is a Yakuza, its actually a clan that is in lead with other clans of the same type. The leader of the clans are equipped with mystical blades and are hidden in thie cities. Felar is a master thief at his age, stealing from the city that the three heroes live in.
That's just the characters before the story even begins or when it DOES begin and before anything interesting happens…
I would also like to add that I am making the first three volumes special. First Volume will lead with Felix then the next to Terry and then the next to Felar to give character development and then pinning them with each other after that....my friend is a good artist and I hope to have it published when I finish it.

Hey, that sounds pretty cool! ^^
I'd like to start reading some when you get them done! ^^ -
That sounds pretty cool. I wish I had someone to draw for me!
-
alright, that's just part of it though. I can probably put up the script when I'm done, but I won't be able to show the pictures anytime soon. I have to start once my illustrator finishes high school.
-
sorry to double post but right now, I'm in the need of a villain. Anyone got any ideas of what types of powers I can give them? To give an instance of the two I already have:
Fish Jaw: He is usually found with a stick of baked fish in his hand, but what makes him stand out is the giant fish scale that is hanged from his back like a blade with a long pole. When scale in hand, it becomes a larger blade and the scales become sharp enough to break through a concrete pillar.
Daemon: Usually wears a gothic type of costume but in reality, his skin is very pale and using his power, he turns into a black substance and can reform himself into a goo. he can also manipulate his body into another form, such as making his hand into a blade or actually fuse a body part with another item. He also has a package in his throat, which he can hold items in, and is related to the reptile species.
Most of my character's characteristics are based off of animals
Felix (wolf)
Terry(bear)
Felar(fox)
Fish Jaw(catfish)
Daemon(Crocodile/Toad)
well at least the main characters.
-
How very Shickibukai of you.
-
what do you mean, how very Shickibukai of me?
Um, the only thing I could think of in my post is Crocodile(and I didn't mean the person named it, I'm talking about a real crocodile)
Um, maybe merman but that's about it, but I thought about the animal thing myself…though it has nothing to do with the story.
