I just got home from college and for some reason I can't login to either MSN Messenger or AIM. MSN messenger's troubleshooter gave me the following error codes:
80048820
Extended: 8004840f
The problem seems to be related to either a proxy or a firewall, but I can't figure out what's wrong. I've tried everything on this site.
I'm at my wits end on this - please help.

Nevermind - got them to work.
Trillian is a messenger program (like AIM and such) that includes almost every IMing program out there. It includes AIM, ICQ, maybe Skype, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, etc.
Yeah…. I don't really recommend Trillian if you only use two messengers. Especially since MSN messenger can't be removed from your computer, it's still the same amount of messengers on your system, except that Trillian only has the messenger capabilities, and maybe video if I understand it correctly.

-Aim installs ad thingies that are practically adware on your computer, as well as aol software.
-Having Yahoo, Aim, MSN and ICQ open at the same time is stupid, and it slows down your computer to hell.
-Trillian rocks, use it.
I didnt like trillian. I liked the yahoo features and aol features are ok. I like playing chess and pool with my friends on yahoo messenger.
I only use aim and yahoo. Trillian is just for talking, it has no features like the other ones have.
