The beauty of the phrase "After the Holidays"

Well, I saw it in Buuhan1's avatar, but that's barely the beginning of it. This phrase is one that represents procrastination and vagueness at its best. Example:

A: "I'm gonna lose weight. For real this time."
B: "Well just when do you plan to do that?"
A: "After the holidays"

A: "WHEN WILL THE @#$% fillers end?!"
B: "Oh, some time after the holidays

The point is, from Thanksgiving in November to New Years Eve there are 3 major holidays. To take it a step further, it could last till the end of February, if you include MLK Jr.'s birthday, Groundhog day, Valentines day, Lincoln's birthday, etc.. To say you'll do something "After the holidays" is the biggest cop out of an answer ever. This phrase annoys the crap out of me because it really doesn't mean anything. Just thought I'd share. <3

And in the UK, there are 3 major holidays in like….a week, and thats if you don't count the Eves.

… I used that a few times since university calms down at the beginning of the second term, so it'd be the time when I get some free time, to fulfill stuff I wanted to do previously before it started getting busy from exams and stuff.

Now that I know there are people who feel annoyed by that, I feel bad now. >_>

I like getting together with people, but, eh, it's just another day. For christmas I decided to be all by myself. All the roomates are gone, and I'm gonna cook a yummy feast for myself, and enjoy the videogames I haven't had time to play in weeks. 2 different friends invited me to be with them for christmas, but I'll catch them sometime after.

Actually legally there's a holiday probably nearly every day, 1/3 I celebrate probably arn't bank holidays, which in the US means if the bank is closed it's a holiday, even if it's considered a "national holiday" and such, it has to be major, pretty much Easter Christmas valentine's day, new year's, ect. People totallyt forget about stuff like Talk like a Pirate Day and National Pie Day, and noone really cares about Arbor day even though it's somewhat major.

Ok, thaaaaat's strange… For me it's the other way around: I always say, I will do something IN the holidays like in the following situation:

Me (determined): "This time I will learn for sure in the holidays!"
later:
A friend: "And? Did you do it?"
Me: ;_;

And yeah, it's always like this -__-. When I would be a little bit more stupid, I would have REALLY bad marks XD
