Code Geass

On August 10th, 2010, a.t.b., the Holy Britannia Empire (神聖ブリタニア帝国, Shinsei Buritania Teikoku?) invaded Japan and conquered the country. Japan lost its freedom and rights and was renamed to Area 11, under the control of the Britannia Empire. The Japanese people are called Elevens instead and forced to survive in ghettos, while Britannians live in first world settlements.

A young boy named Lelouch, witnessing the destruction around him, swears to destroy the Britannia Empire, and seven years later, he finally obtains the power to face them and take his revenge.

This anime keeps getting aweosme as the episodes pass. Lelouch is teh shit, nough said about him. I highly reccomend this one if you're fans of series like Full Metal panic in military terms.

It's kinda like Death Note meets Gundam Seed, but something much more awesome than that. I was thinking about making a thread, but damn you beat me to it

Even though it is kinda ridiculous with the Brittania = U.S. and prevelent Pizza Hut adverts in episodes, it gives the show some kinda quirky charm. Like a crazy uncle that kicked ass back in the war, but makes colorful hats for sheep now.

And i don't agree on the second thing. Just because we don't talk about it here doesn't mean we're no actively disscusing it somewhere else. This board has never had big discussion about anything but the famous Jump trio and it won't change. I myslef feel no need to discuss things that i've debated to death somehwere else.

Aye, I've made that argument in the past, but not everyone is going to actively engage in debate over a show on this board; typically, outside of Naruto and Bleach topic updates are just for new chapters and brief discussion. Even with the most obscure titles, some people chime in and say whether they like it or not.

In the case of Geass, it's been out since October yet the first topic dedicated to it appeared in December and it has barely any recognition; just look at the view count.

We don't necessarily have to speculate/talk to death a show on AP, but acknowledgement is at least a partial indication of people watching the series.

Britannia's empire expanded Westward; they've got control over both the North and South American continents, so Japan was presumably their next target.

Actually the whole world history is different.

An international superpower that possesses about one-third of the entire world. It remains in expansion, with the recent invasion and colonization of Area 18. Britannia invades Japan to obtain a newly discovered energy source, the sakuradite. The Britannia Empire appears to be based from an alternative universe in which the monarchy remains absolute, suppressing the American colonies' rebellion in the 1700s and thereby conquering the American continents. It is also speculated from information seen in episode seven that the fictional birth of Henry IX brings about the reason that North America is controlled by Britannia.

Japan/Area 11

After the Britannia Empire invades and conquers the country to seize control of a new power source named the Sakuradite, in one month's time, Japan's name is soon changed to Area 11 and its people are renamed to Elevens. The number denotes the numerical order by which Britannia has occupied new territories.

ALL HAIL BRITANNIA! ALL HAIL BRITANNIA! I love this series so far! I've watched up to episode 7, watching more in a few minutes. I'm glad I picked this up to watch. I have a feeling it's going to be another Utawarerumono for me. (Great series I just randomly happened to try out.) Definitely buying the DVDs if/when it gets licensed.

He's not very combat oriented, though he does pilot one of the mechs and goes into battle; it doens't help that the mechs available for the Elevens are not all that powerful. However, in order to use his "voodoo magic hypnosis" better known as Geass, he's got to get within physical proximity of other people, so he often has to do daring unprotected stuff.

Finally this thread gets some love. I was shocked that it had been so quiet for so long since as Terek said, this show kicks ass. It's definitely the gem of the Fall '06 season.

! C.C. didn't give Suzaku a Geass as well and instead gave him a gentle mindfuck. Seems as though they're going to delve more into C.C.'s backstory and whatnot which is great.

Also, Pizza Hut advertising is ridiculously awesome in the most ridiculous way possible.

Light is the puppetmaster while Lulu still canres a little for his people, Ligh in his shoes would treat them just as pawns and he would've killed anyone standing in his way , probably suzaku too.

I know of baka-updates, but I don't mess with them. I could have very fucking easily went to a torrent site and found the episodes with the subbers name on it. Now I know better than to actually ask people before hand cause they'll just be pricks about it.

I'm not into fanfiction or writing of that sort. Anything that would have Shirley's appearance make more sense than "she goes to where everyone else is" which is simply for convenience and not exactly stellar writing.

I see two possible ways she could have gotten there:
(filling in the plot hole if you will)

! First: She follows Lulu to the battle, which seems to be implied in the episode when she apologizes for first doubting him and then doing something. Viletta then trails after Shirley, even though she would know the battle is taking place. Lulu would lose massive points if this was the case. Not fitting for the head of a terrorist organization.
! Second: Viletta takes her there since she would have knowledge where the battle would be taking place and then use Shirley. This would prove that Shirley's pretty dumb and likely deserves to be offed.

I thought they could've slow burned the Shirley situation a little longer, and show more progress with the Lulu/Suzaku bit instead of same "That damn white robot" and "WAH! STOP KILLING PEOPLE BECAUSE I'M NOT DOING THE SAME EXACT THING RIGHT NOW BUT FOR EVEN WORSE PEOPLE!"

Man, I hate hypocrites.

! and this is only the second time Suzaku killed anybody. And the first time he killed people (well there's even the possibilty they weren't even killed by the explosion of that big ass gun in ep 8 or wheereever that was) and this time they were already dead men waling anyway so practically he hasn't murdered anyone unlike Lulu who is stupid yes because he never calculates an option that Lancelot will be there.

I was just hearing this from someone~Seems Code Geass is so loved that when Sunrise wanted the eps down in Youtube, they had a "system" where they mix Code Geass into backwards making it "Edoc Ssaeg" and every OP, ED, AMV, and ep are named that way XD So they love it enough to not give up and make its name backwards for the sake of hiding it XD Oh boy..
