but im glad to hear that nintendo is making stronger straps, but people if you break your Tv with a wiimote with enough Force to go through a TV AND OR PROTECTIVE SCREEN

Well, let's get to opinions then.

To be honest I'm sick of hearing about the damn website everytime I bring up the Wii. You don't break anything unless you're an idiot that's not aware of their surroundings. I hope it's just a joke and the people using it as the gospel truth are the fools.

There have only been two incidents that I have occurred when I played a Wii, though I don't own one myself.

1. My friend cracked me on the elbow with the remote while he was playing Wii tennis and I guess I was too close. Violence ensued regardless

2. My friend's brother broke a glass while playing Wii Sports. It was bound to happen because he standing right in front of the table with this large glass standing on it.

Beyond that, wrist straps breaking? What the hell are people doing? I'd figure they're spinning around the remote while holding the strap…hence it breaks. There hasn't been a single instance from the dozen or so hours I played games on the Wii ranging from Red Steel to Monkey Ball that I felt the remote was not under control in my hand.

I do not understand how people can lose control of their Wii-Motes and throw them into items. I always keep a heavy hand on my controller and never fling it hard to do any action since you do not need to fling it hard to do anything.

Some people should not receive shiny new toys because they will fling them through objects then blame a company on their pathetic mistakes.

I think the main problem is that people that are launching remotes are probably people who don't play a lot of games. I've been a gamer for 20 years. I know how to hold a controller. For someone who hasn't played that long, maybe they don't know how to hold a controller, and problems could ensue.

But if someone has been a gamer for 10+ years and doesn't know how to hold a controller and breaks their TV, that isn't Nintendo's fault.

Yes, indeed, some people get a little out of hand (ha ha, that pun was not intended) and in doing so, loose control of the remote.

Though, how long as the company Nintendo been around. They should be able to understand the actions of a gamer inside and out. They should know some people are going to play like maniacs on a coffee high, and construct their product acordingly. Aperently they didn't if all these accedents are happening.

I also believe that the general public is stupid, so as a company, you have to act acordingly and make your product stupid proof. That thin string for the remote was not stupid proof.

Plus, it was Nintendo that was trying to encourage people outside of their target market to play videogames with the Wii? Well, I'm sure we've all seen new people play videogames. You might as well bring your drunk buddy bowling; it would be the same effect.

No, see, the controller isn't like a traditional controller. You pretty much hold the remote just like a, well, remote; what idiot does not know how to hold a remote?

And in every Wii game I've played there is a warning screen as soon as you boot the damn thing up telling you to be sure to securely fasten the strap to your wrist.

If the consumer is twirling the remote around by the cord, then that would be the consumer's fault, for not using it how it was intended.

I don't think I'd ever swing it so hard it could break something. And I can get pretty damn intense from Boxing, or hell, even Rayman.

So I'm assuming that these cases are from retards playing the wii games and using their "retard strength" to wreak havoc

my brother has one, and I've swung it around crazyily and punched the screen playing boxing quite hard but still nothing

I really would rather wear something more comfortable like a strap than something uncomfortable-ish like a handcuff while playing games.

Besides, they made the string things that attach to the Wii thicker.

As long as the strap connecting the strap to the Wii is strong, it works. There's no reason to go S&M on your customers with something comfortable. Nintendo's already begun making the straps thicker to make it more durable, and members here don't appear to be reporting any incidents.

I just read about how a girl dislocated her knee whilst wearing heels and playing on her Wii. Hahaha, she had it coming. Look at the pictures on the nintendo website, it shows people standing up, smiling and laughing and swinging their controllers. I think that's how most people want to enjoy it, rather than sit on the couch and repeatedly slam the same buttons.

Yes. You can just sit and play a Wii. People at times just get caught up in the action.

This is just plain human stupidity…I mean you can just as easily chop off a finger while chopping vegetables with a knife if you do it hard enough but that doesn't happen normally, does it? By the time someone is of age to have the strenght to get a wii controller stuck into a TV they should have had enough life experince to gauge their own strenght and control it...
