He could "shatter" (more like just be able to punch through) the steel by now. Though during the time of Arabasta I'm not so sure.

If Luffy wasn't the main guy with so much conviction I'd say Daz Bones. But since he is, he'd find a way.

well daz bones isn't all made of steel,propably his skin is since zoro cut him and he bleeded and since tekkai is as hard as steel i'd say luffy,zoro,sanji, monster chopper and franky could easily take mr.1 down but luffy in alabasta couldn't

It was actually the same with Croc. If he wasn't the main guy Luffy would have been just like that pig pirate. If the series was about someone else and Luffy ran into Mr. 1 in Alabasta, he would have died.

Well logically luffy would lose cause daz isn't just steel he's a blade. What would happen if you punched a blade? (the ending of onimusha 1

my apologies.i thought daz bonez was the marine zorro took down using that pheonix move somewhere along the seatrain track.somehow the word bonez make me relate to him. i'd say luffy(now) > daz bonez(alabasta) > luffy(alabasta)
daz bonez mite improve now and be stronger than luffy in his current condition.the blade DF is also a big advantage against luffy,but luffy may think of some ways to defeat him

I think if Mr. 1 stayed in a whirling-dervish-of-blades, he could hold off Luffy indefinitely, cos Luffy couldn't directly attack without being made into rubber bands.

The only reason I think this is such a hard one to call is because Zoro was so perfectly matched up with Daz, I think Luffy would be screwed in Alaburna if he got matched up with him for the following reason:
- Blades are one of Luffy's main weaknesses, they can cut him, and the way Dax turned him whole arm into a bunch of round saws makes me think luffy would have a hard time hitting him without getting seriously injured.
I do believe Luffy could hurt him, even if Daz is made of steal Luffy could punch hard enough to bend the steal, and hurt his interior. Perhaps even break it, I don't know though, seeing it was hard enough for Zoro to cut him…

but m.1 could do the thing with the spinning blades only with his wrists and he made his fingers and a vertical line in his hands and legs sharp like blade so as easily as zoro could avoid his attacks and hit him so would luffy since now he can break tekkai and especially with gear 2 and soru -
Remember how Luffy broke Don Krieg armour.

Luffy punched through Krieg's armor in East Blue. Nowadays he can break through tekkai like butter and completely demolished that thick ass door with Gear 3. Luffy wouldn't break a sweat.

Feh… Fukurou broke through Franky's "steel" body with a punch and he's only got like 1000 douriki. While that is a lot... Luffy's got, what, maybe 4000?

Actually, Luffy's weakness is piercing damage, such as a spear, a hook, Shigan, etc. Cutting weapons like blades do hurt him, but not as much as piercing objects do. The only reason he can rebound bullets is because they're not rifled; rifled slugs pierce through the target, whereas smoothbore guns cause the slug to impact the person.
And Fukurou never really hurt Franky except when he was low on Cola. I'm sure with a few dials in him, Franky could stand up even to an opponent like Lucci. The force behind the gears is tremendous, especially Gear 3rd, but the other Strawhats will reach that point soon, at which point Luffy will be even stronger.
Rankyaku and Shigan didn't cut Franky to pieces. And Strong Hammer and Coup de Vent destroyed Fukurou.
I called it wrong, so long ago. I guess this needs to be changed.

At the time of Alabasta, I would say Daz Bones but after all… Luffy's a main character so of course he would win if they ever fought.
But if I ignore the fact that Luffy is main character and start to think this realistically, I would say that Mr.1 could own Luffy... if he managed to catch him that is. And I'm thinking about Alabasta Luffy, without all those Gears and stuff. -
If Luffy fought Daz Bones.. I'd prefer Daz as the winner.. Cause, Luffy x Daz = Rubber x Steel Blade.. How much pow-ups Luffy had, can't hurt Daz..

Luffy, assuming he has something to fight for and a reason to really want to win (or, erm, main character mojo, iow.) If anything, I think Zoro was at a disadvantage in this fight, compared to other characters–since he felt he had to face Daz head on as a swordsman. Luffy isn't against throwing buildings at opponants. Sure, Daz can cut them, but Luffy'll keep going until something works. And Luffy may be an idiot in most things, but he's shown he has quite a creative mind when it comes to battles.
Daz was so used to winning everything that he just wouldn't see Luffy coming. He'd do the calculation Rubber + Swords = Stabbity Death too, and not factor in Luffy's battle prowess.
T-Bone also gets smushed. Luffy's pretty hard to stop, especially without something like logia. If you aren't immune to physical hits--and Daz is not immune, just strong--Luffy can win.

No matter what Mr. 1 did he would lose. He could turn into a human pin cushin and still lose to luffy. Say Luffy realises that he cant hurt him with punches cause he's a ball of spikes (this might take luffy a while to figure out). He'll pick up Daz (ouch, well it IS Luffy), wind up, and throw that fucker into the ocean.

IMO of the top tier fighters, it would've been Zoro who faced the most trouble with Daz. Remember Daz's problem was that he couldn't be cut. he could easily be kicked, punched, thrown.
I recommend: Peerless Martial God, Renegade Immortal, Gourmet of Another World, Trash of the Counts Family and The Great Ruler

Punches wouldn't hurt him because he would just spawn blades around him. If you attempt to throw him he'd probably cut your hands off. Gear 3 would beat him though but without that luffy would only win because he's the main character

I think everyone here read about Luffy destroying the steel door with Gear 3 and punching into a spiked cape that Krieg put up as a defensive shield.

I think your looking to far into that Rifled theory. Oda when he was drawing probably didnt think oh im gonna make the guns not rifled so they cant hurt Luffy..he just plain out didnt let bullets hurt him. Not everything in one piece you can justify by logic..
Luffy would destroy Daz Bones imo, he might get a few cuts but he would beat him in just a few hits. If he used Gear 3rd I doubt it would even hurt Luffy at all.

Luffy or sanji hitting him probaley wouldn't do much to him. Zoro exerted a lot of blunt force onto Daz, and not much happeded. Though he obviously got hurt from Zoro (before the cut, I mean) it wasn't anywhere near enough to bring him down.

Its a bit of a cop out to say that Luffy would win because Oda would make him win. Let's suspend disbelief:
Daz is a blade man, but he typically has to create those blade out of his body in order to cut (else he would just punch normally instead of having blades come out of his arms, fingers, etc). That leads us to the conclusion that his entire body is not a blade at all times if he has to will the blades to appear. There also seems to be a limit to how long a blade he can create. Of course, his body is as strong as steel, but as we already know steel isn't all of the same strength.
Luffy is weak to a certain extent against sharp blades and spikes, but as we've seen repeatedly like in the battle against Don Krieg especially, he is quite resistant nonetheless.
Daz strikes me as one of those people Croc always held in contempt. He seems content with merely possessing his power and relying on it instead of trying to push it to its ultimate form. I doubt that he would have been able to win against Luffy's strong blows, but he would have been able to cut Luffy up a bit in the process much like the Krieg battle.

i believe that Luffy won't lose to Daz Bones if he was fighting with him, but it would be a draw, since Luffy is way faster than Daz Bones, but Luffy won't be able to hit him because he would get cut…..... the question is would Luffy have won?
I believe Luffy will win.... marginally, if he managed to find something to block of Daz attacks and get a hit in..... or something..... -

Thats a good point. But does it really make since for Luffy to figure out if you coil yourself it will be stronger? If he could figure that out I dont see why the marines wouldnt.
Im still not posative about Oda making guns not hurt him because they arent rifled. Gomu Gomu no Pistol is weaker than Rifle because Pistols are generally weaker than Rifles..and I think he just added something else to the atack so it would be different.
And has their really been proof the guns arent rifled? I have seen some pics but its kind of hard to judge from just looking.
