Does anyone have any experiance with this?

Please provide more information and then I could easily help you. Sadly I deal with this stuff all the time at my work. I'm just glad I love computers.
[EDIT: please upload virus name if you have it, virus scanner you are using, etc. It would help me out a lot if you want me to help you out. ]
Luckily, I'm getting a warning saying "System Alert: Trojan-Spy.Win32@mx".
Oh that is soo not good. Ok I was researching on the virus and the first thing that I was able to find was this.

This virus is a heavy duty hitter and not easy to remove.
Uh…huh. Maybe I'll think twice about downloading from HappyHentai again. So many viruses.
Anyway, thanks for your help. Now I need to work on that.
Well good luck on that, and I'm not being sarcastic because you are going to have a troublesome time removing that virus since it is deeply rooted in your pc.
Which this topic also reminds me that I need to also start looking at purchasing a new virus scanner for my laptop since my current one will expire soon and I do not want to continue paying the twenty dollars per month for the pathetic, but still dependable, services.
Speaking of viruses, I can't seem to use my Ad-Aware SE Personal program all the way through. It detects like 3 Trojan Downloaders and then it freezes. If anyone can help me, greatly appreciated.
know what. this would be really good in the help section :)
that trojan-win32 sounds very familiar to me. It might be the trojan I got in my registry key several years back. I don't fully understand what a computer's registry key is, but I do know that getting any virus in there is a very bad thing. In the end, I found a program online (for $30) that got rid of it for me.
I find it always helps to google the program/virus etc.
though, GSR seems like he can be of much help here. (have to remember that in the future)

Actually I had to deal with this problem the other day at work, sadly the life of an IT intern means that you have research multiple problems just in case of future problems.
The company I work at uses Ad Aware Enterprise Edition and yes, the application hangs after scanning through the mail server. After a quick check of the server and then going into the Ad Aware configuration menu, I discovered a way to bypass scanning the server, then going back with other scanners just aimed at the mail server.
Anyways I'm getting off topic, to change the Ad Aware configuration settings do this:
If you can post the actual name of the virus/spy-ware that is being found, I could do a lot more to help.
Also download Spybot- Search and Destroy, it is a great application to use for home computers.
Another cleaning application that I live by, is Cleanup!.exe, think of the windows cleanup application because Cleanup!.exe does that job times one hundred. Especially good to use when your computer is running slow. I run it about once every few days to clean out my temporary internet folders and so forth.
[[SIZE="1"]EDIT_Hopefully this post is not considered spam by other moderators, since I linked the Cleanup!.exe application.]
when you say window's clean up program, do you mean the disk defragmenter?
One thing I would suggest to prevent future viruses is to set up two accounts on your computer. One administrator, which you would only use to update your computer, and the other a user account, which you would use the rest of the time.
The only way to access your system files is through an administrator account. If you download viruses as an admin, you are giving these viruses full access. If you download virues as a user, they are denied access becuase the user is also denied access.

Nope, I'm refering to this application,
!

Yes, this is a great idea. If you really know all the bells and toys of Windows XP, you can make an account just for downloading files, then after scanning and etc, you can move the files to your shared folders and give your other accounts access to them.
oh. ha. learn something new every day. This is why I would not consider myself an expert. Still so much to learn. Thanks for making me smarter today.

If you want the honest truth, no one is an expert at being a technician on computers. My supervisor that has had almost ten years experience in the IT field still has trouble on many things just because you can not learn everything. Like with me, I can not work with printers at all. Even though I study over them all the time.
oh I know it is something you are constantly learning. But There is a difference between, my mom, who knows very little, and needs a lot of help to function on a pc, me, who can get around pretty well, but not enough to start up her own pc fix it buisness, and then people like you, who know enough to make a career out of it. I consider people like you experts. I'm not at your level yet.
I got the virus off. I'm actually quite amazed that I actually did it… since virus's are like... my bane.
Anyway, I owe you one TGSR. That shit really helped me out.
Thanks a lot GSR it's actually went all the way through.

No problem, I'm just glad that I could help.

No problem, I'm glad that I could help. Also since the Ad Aware scanner is not scanning those folders now, you still have those viruses on your computer, I would try to find the directory that they are in and then restart in safe mode to delete the viruses. Once that is complete, I would virus scan once more in through mode if your anti virus scanner has that option.
yay! A happy ending for two tales.
Happy endings, yay ^^! Say Zulen, how did you get it?
Manga downlaod sites are loaded with Spyware and Adware for some reason, well not all of them.
Anyways I got it bad. After like 3 spyware programs(ad aware, and some search and destroy and another one) me and some friends were in the "boss battle" sorta. We have one left cmprised of I think 2 or 3 "file" that were making it up. ANywyas it could not remove them but said it might if the computer was shut down. Anyways it was a tough little bugger. In the end it wouldn't come off, and one of my friends, the only oen that knew how, ended up formatting my hard drive. Normally I just get WIndows reinstalled, but it doesn't delete the core system just all non-necessary files. So I started over. Thus I have spare time because I keep forgetting to reinstall WoW.
EDIT: Forgot the main part of the story.
Anyways it was the mastermind of the whole invasion. everytime we restarted the computer, it would just simply have another couple files installed I didn't want, and kept putting links to sites on my desktop, like Party Poker and stuff. It wouldn't go away and it was a portal letting the rest in.
