The SJ division Viz used to be good, but ever since they started worshipping 4Kids as their god, they've been going down the shitter.
Also, in the new SJ, there were 3 things in OP that pissed me off.
-The table of conents said it'd have chapters 56-58, but they only had 56 and 57.
-They didn't have chapter 57's title page
-Sanji's "Just go to hell!" line was replaced with "I refuse!"

I bought the first to volumes last weekend. I thought I was buying them both with Zolo, but volume 2 is actually Zoro. So that's a nice surprise. Except if I were to try to get any of my friends to read it they'd be a might confused…

Shonen Jump USED to be good… Then, like DS said, they began their Satan worship of 4Shame and everything went down the crapper.
"Zolo"? GIVE ME A ****ING BREAK. They have the friggin' name ON THE WANTED POSTERS. I think it's already been established that the only reason Viz changed the name was to fit with 4Shame's shit dub. Now, if that isn't the biggest piece of bullshit I've ever seen (besides the dub itself), then I'll be damned.

Anyway, I digress. It is maddening to see that damn word every time I see Zoro's name mentioned. That's why I'm letting my SJ subscription run out, and why I'm gonna buy the original tankouban when I get the money.

I still do not like VIZ, but the FOXBOX/4KidsTV site says (ZOLO/TBA) I don't know any other reason 4Kids would say this unless they are changing it to Zoro. And if 4Kids fix it to Zoro I wonder what the liars at VIZ are gonna say about the make believe trademarks then??? Interesting.

anybody notice what mangas is featured on the covers of SJ month after month? I think at least 1/2 to 3/4 of the covers are of Yu-gi-oh or Dragonball. I think Naruto has only had like 3 covers and One Piece had like…1 or 2 covers at most. I understand they're marketing to the lower demographic but I think it's really sad that they've got some really good series' in there and all they show is the same 2 over and over again.
speaking of the dub, what are peoples' thoughts on the fact that any kind of blood or alcohol/smoking reference is taken out? I grew up with the cartoons of the 80's and 90's and they had those references from time to time and I didn't think anything of it, nor did it influence me to be violent or want to drink...so what gives? Is it an age where everything in a cartoon has to be "politically correct"?

I've noticed that One Piece is always getting the short end of the stick when it comes to the SJ magazine. But its not like Viz actually giving One Piece some attention now would make me buy it. That ship sailed a long time ago.

Actually, One Piece has only had 1 cover. But pretty soon, we'll be getting more One Piece covers we'll be sick of it. Just look how many Shaman King covers popped out when 4Kids lisenced it.
I am glad though we had a Naruto cover this month instead of the same pic of Yugi holding a card. Hopefully next month we'll see a One Piece, YuYu Hakusho, or maybe the first Hikaru no Go cover. I seriously doubt it though.

They speak normally, I think, right? Not pirate lingo. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

So what I still can't get over the fact they remove comical nudity, and Sexual induedo, calling The Kinniku the Muscles and use of the 4shame names, from Kinnikuman Nisei AKA Ultimate Muscle. I mean everything else Japanese surname is the same in SJ. And in SJ don't Forget Hercule/Mr. Satan name.

I really don't mind much of the name changes, since Kid Muscle sounds better than "Kinnikuman II." But I do think some names are retarded (Dik Dik Van Dik).

I e-mailed VIZ at Evelyn@viz.com and the idiot told me that the "author" told VIZ to change Zoro's name to Zolo. Now I hate VIZ even more. This is utter bullcrap and it proves that VIZ have been lying to us from the start. In the first issue of the English Shonen Jump magazine, the editors stated that no pictures would ever be edited in their magazine and all manga would remain in their original form. Guess they backed out of that promise. There have been many picture edits in Shaman King, and even more dialogue edits in all of VIZ's Shonen Jump titles. Sad. I have also e-mailed Evelyn@viz.com and I was told the same thing. They don't even know the "author's" name, so we can't believe them. VIZ are the very definition of liars, they are on their way to becoming worse than 4Kids. Eiichiro Oda would never tell them to change Zoro's name. I'm glad I bought the Japanese Manga of One Piece. We should all not buy VIZ products until they grow up and stop lying. We know they changed Zoro's name in order to match the crappy dub, so why do they have to keep lying about it??? This is the worst excuse I've heard from VIZ so far, trying to include Eiichiro Oda in their lies is really offensive. I wonder what they will come up with next.

I'd planned on buying One Piece Volumes as well, but I dunno. Changing a single letter may seem trivial and not worth being aggravated about, but I just can't stand the lipservice they're giving to 4kids. It simply disgusts and offends me, so I doubt I'll be buying any of their products in the future. I can spend my money better on products from companies I can respect, as for One Piece I'll just stick to raws and scripts from fans who actually give a **** about more than profit potential.

Bleach (by VIZ) as of Volume #5, has started to become edited storywise. It's sad, I know.
I am buying my favorite series (look at my signature) in Japanese, and am going to translate them myself. (along with member Nami, my friend) That way the translations will be accurate and pictures will remain unchanged.Yay!!

I re-skimmed Bleach vol. 5, and I'm not entirely sure what's wrong. Though, it's been weeks since I read volume five online, so my memory of the actual events are a bit hazy.

Actually, I looked over my Volume 4 of Shaman King and Yoh had no leaf, then a leaf in one panel, then 5 seconds later in the story it's gone again. Viz can't even edit it.

I remember back when they did single comics, Viz started editing dragonball for a bit but people complained and they stopped. I don't know if im just being too optimistic or no but perhaps if we do the same, just maybe they'd stop editing. Perhaps.
