I'm noticing all the people praising Taco Bell in this thread live nowhere near the border. That isn't to say I'm a short walk from it but a few hundred miles isn't stopping me from having real Mexican food.
Heck, if one is dead-set to eat fast-food Mexican cuisine, one might as well eat at Chipotle (owned by McDonald's corp) or Chevy's, both are comparatively more authentic than Taco Bell.
There's so much wrong with Taco Bell -
1. Taco shells/beans fried in pig fat.
2. Vegetables fertilized with human dung.
3. Cheese made from corn.
It is literally the BOTTOM RUNG of fast food franchises, and is the modern nasty equivalent on the level of canned meat factories in The Jungle. The ONLY reason one would buy Taco Bell is that it is very, very cheap. Even keynote stores only sell their burritos/tacos for $1, so it is cheaper than even Carl's Junior/Hardees.
But for $.18 more you are adding ten years of life onto your bones by not eating Taco Bell. There's no better deal!
These days, I only go into the Bell to steal their Mild Border Sauce, because it is a good flavouring for my own cooking and those ingredients are grown separate from the in-store shipments.
