WTF is that about?
McCain and Obama are the two men running for president in the election this november. if you don't know what a president is then google it.
Oh man, this is pretty funny.
But it could be just me but I think he is WTFing, not about who those two gentlemens are, but about why there would be comic books about them. Who came up with the idea?

Now, the question is, are they any good?
I want a poster of those. They're awesome. I dislike them both and still want them. :D
Obviously they are meant to educate the comic-book reading youths XD

Since that is the only way to end the war in Iraq and save the failing economy.
McCain's arms are too long.
I have taken pictures that would make you think "WTF?!" concerning books like these.
I will post them later (they are on my phone and I don't want to get them off at the moment).
Do they really need to make these to get kids involved?
Okay, I'll be the first to say it:
McCain x Kureha OTP!
This is mainly a response to Stephen Colbert running for president in the Marvel Universe.
! It isn't really at all, but Colbert is actually running for president in the Marvel Universe.
These are actually really good reads. Both are simply biographical stories about the two, nothing propagandizing in them. Hell, they barely talk about the issues, instead focusing on the titular candidates.
Both are fun reads, and both have great art (the art in the McCain issue is gorgeous!) But since I've already heard plenty about how McCain was a prisoner of war, and how Obama grew up black, both of these were just sort of "well that was fun….....on to the next book I got" deals.
Worth checking out though if you want what are probably going to be collector's items one day, really good artwork, and interesting (though familiar) biographies of the candidates' lives.
That is freaking awesome.

Here's the guy who did the colors for them.
Is there nothing IDW won't try to get their hands on?
Hmm might get it for some members of the family then.
If you're interested in the source ask Roz.
Oh, those silly Japanese.
Actully they weren't the only ones to come up with this idea. Antarctic Press made some too.

It looks it's drawn by the same guy who did The Boondocks …In fact, why is Obama the angry one?
You should see how the draw Obama in Obama City.
He has big-ass ears and huge lips like a 1920's racist depiction.
The entire town is banking on him winning for promotional purposes because it's otherwise a little shitty beach town in the middle of Nowhere Japan.
It's a laughing stock.

That looks nothing like Aaron McGruder's work. As for why guess it just for page tension.

Mind linking me to an image?
i kinda like characterchers.
I dunno if they have any images online. Everything I saw was on the news.
Aw boo. No wonder I could not find anything.

Eh? You did? What exactly did you work on?

the picture greg was referring to can be seen in the middle of the vid.

That was an uncreative. I expected something funny.

I did the toning on both of the Antarctic Press books. They were going to be in color but the artist just didn't finish in time, so we had to settle on black and white for ours so they could make it out in time for the election. I ended up toning both books in four or five hours each.
I've worked at AP for about 10 years and write Ninja High School and work on a whole bunch of other stuff, and I very often get stuck with random weird coloring assignments.
Like toning the Obama and McCain books the day before they went to press. Hardly the weirdest assignment, but one of the most last minute. Pirates versus Ninja the comic was a lot more fun to work on.

O_O well that unexpected. What are the odds one of the AP staff browsed around here let alone helped on the comics. Love all of you guys' work.

The thing with them is odd, but the picture isn't racist in the slightest.
It looks like every caricature I have seen of him.

Hee. Thanks. Fred Perry is a total monster with his output. As for the odds? Well, we do american manga, so it only makes sense that some of the people on staff would like ACTUAL manga and anime. And One Piece is my favorite, so my visiting this site regularly is… pretty decent odds I suppose?
