So I was browsing the RolonoaZoro Gallery (great place to view HQ volume covers), and in the Settei Pre (production artwork for the anime) section, I found a few pictures that look more like prototype character sketchs for the manga. Does anyone know what these are, truely? Take a gander:
This one shows three designs for Gaimon and Luffy at a bar talking to a man who resembles General Cross from D.Gray-man in dress. Gaimon's hair looks noticebly more like broccli than a bush like it turned out in the series.
The second pic is weird. We have a Helmeppo/Sanji character with Alvida's club, Luffy and another person looking at a giant, rotund man wearing Zoro's clothes. And a drawing of a smiling Nami-esque girl to round things out.
Random pirate. Looks kind of like the villain from the first Romance Dawn.
Characters from Luffy's hometown. From left to right: a man who resembles the bartender from Movie 4, a stout, older woman (lol Luffy's mom), and a proto-Woop Slap, followed by kid Luffy himself.
Proto-Captain Morgan and an older man.
These look fairly close to Oda's style around the time the manga started, so, uh, any ideas on where these are from?
