We lost…as an alum of the old Toonami boards, I just feel heartbroken...but at the same time, it's been on life support for too long regardless. With nothing new up the pipe, they had to do it eventually.
My opinion is I never minded Toonami, nothing good never comes out of it and the only reason why I watched it was because Funi's One Piece was airing but ever since it was cancelled, I no longer watched it.. However I wonder if CN will continue to air animes.
Probably Saturday mornings, or just no anime at all.
Naruto WILL survive.
Naruto surviving and being the only anime to air is a big bummer.
This sucks.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't see it coming though.
Not sure if this been posted or not. Sorry if it has been. Tonight is the last night of toonami. Over 11 years they have been showing great anime. its over T_T
America's Cartoon Network has reportedly revealed at Georgia's Anime Weekend Atlanta convention this morning that it will end its Toonami programming block tonight after 11 years. The official announcement will be made during tonight's final run, with an "important message" during the 10:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. Naruto has been the only Japanese series in this Saturday evening block recently, but Toonami used to host a variety of Japanese-animated programs when it began as a weekday afternoon block in 1997. Among those titles were Voltron, Robotech, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Ronin Warriors, G-Force: Guardians of Space, Blue Submarine No. 6, Tenchi Muyo!, Cardcaptors, Zoids, .hack//SIGN, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, The Big O, Outlaw Star, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Cyborg 009, Duel Masters, Astro Boy, Gundam, Rave Master, Zatch Bell, One Piece, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Pokémon, MÄR, The Prince of Tennis, Megaman Star Force, Bakugan Battle Brawlers, and Blue Dragon. The Toonami Jetstream online streaming service will reportedly still continue, and Cartoon Network is working to import the Japanese-animated Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z spinoff that is based on its own Powerpuff Girls series.
Two episode of Naruto are currently scheduled for tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The 2002 live-action Spider-Man film will run instead of Toonami on September 27, although most television listings have not been updated yet. Batman: Gotham Knight, this summer's Japanese-animated video tie-in to The Dark Knight film, will then run on October 4 at 8:00 p.m. After Batman: Gotham Knight, an episode of Naruto, "Powerful Helper," will run at 9:30 p.m., but there are no other episodes scheduled yet.
I went to Naruto Fan Forums. And They had a Tread called. Toonami Cancelled. So I read it and apparently at the Georgia convention thing Cartoon network said tonight was the last night for Toonami. And After tonight only one episode of Naruto is schedualed. And this is true. They had an official article from Anime news network.
So is this good news or Bad news for One piece Funimation dub.
article here folks.

I've never had cable, so I really can't say that I have a large amount of affection for it, but I do have some good memories being at my Grandmother's house and watching it during the years of Tom and his spaceship. It's too bad it's been on life support lately, but I guess it's about time to pull the plug. I don't like to think of what CN will re-mold it into.
It would suck, if I still watched Toonami. It's a total shame to see what I grew up diminished to a pointless block of Naruto and reruns of other cartoons.
10 years ago, I could wait to get home and watch some awesome action cartoons, while also getting to see music videos, and other stuff as well. Toonami had a great host, great shows, great music; it was just a great block in general. I'd say rest in peace, but the the Toonami I knew died a long time ago, might as well just bury it already.

We all know what happened to Miguzi and the block that existed on Saturdays before Toonami moved to a regular Saturday scheldue.
Best Cartoon Network related news in a long time
The only thing that could make this news better would be if they stopped airing Total Drama Island
I feel the fact is most of the animes are on their Jetstream service is the case that Toonami has ended, but its this is unlikely the real cause
as I said in the Funi TV thread:
I had a feeling Toonami was over once I saw Ben 10:alien Force was on the listing for tonight
but sad really…I grew up Watching Sailor Moon, DB series,Ronin Warriors, Gundam W, Tenchi Muyo, alot of animes on toonami
to add, this block of animes started my intrest for this genre

And thread here.
Yeah i noticed that as soon as I posted a link. SRY. Close tread please.
Find it funny these clone threads keep popping up in the weirdest places.
"tonight! i keep crying in your arms tonight, it must have been something you said…I keep crying in your arms tonight!"
Toonami, its been fun. Looking foward to the future.
SAD FACES :((((((
Toonami went off air in this country over a year ago. Worst thing ever. It was replaced by a stupid channel called 'Cartoon Network TOO'. Toonami was awesome, but the predecessor in this country, CNX, was even awesomer. We didn't have it as long as you guys though. Ours went like this; CNX: 2002-2003, Toonami: 2003-2007.
Question:
Is it only the US toonami that ends or all toonamis?
Because someone told me the UK has a whole Toonami channel

Used to. Read my post above, we lost our Toonami channel to a piece of shit channel back in 2007.
This really broke my heart. Go ahead call me a loser but Toonami shaped me today. The morals, the music, the fan art, the host (especially the host), had all shaped me. Toonami inspired me to make art, it inspired me to be different from what public tries to shape me, this just broke my heart that the thing that was my childhood is going to disappear like that. And because of this news I'd like to post a song a guy on Toonzone named "Karl" posted because it's very damn touching.
And don't forget, I'd doubt many of us would be fans of anime without this network; back then before Toonami anime almost never existed on TV and anything else blew. Without Toonami would you be a fan of DBZ, One piece (which was brought wide-spread through Toonami and I mean 4kids version), Sailor moon, Bobobo, etc. In truth I'd never even think of going to places such as Comi-con, Sakura, etc. without Toonami.
Well, if anyone remembers me as "The Stranger" or "StrangerAtaru" or any of my other stupid names back from my Toonami-following days, please get this message over to them. I doubt anyone cares who I am anymore but this is my obituary for the block.
Toonami was a awesome block,Too bad it's today :(
Hah, I just remembered back in the day when my older cousin would go on about Tenchi Muyo, and I wouldn't understand a bit of it.
Damn Naruto killing Toonami with its Ninjas. This is so sad because this was my childhood. I sadly am going to go on a full on rage. But if Toonami and Cartoon network can give us a LOGICAL explanation that does'nt have to do with "WE HAVE TO MAKE MOAR ROOM 4 NARUTO TEH BSET NINHJA SHO EVAH!!!!" Then…. Grabs A rifle I propose we Raid and destroy CN headquarters for killing my Childhood. Do I have to shoot a Money Grubbing mindless Executive??

If am not mistaken, One Piece should return soon to Cartoon Network. There was an article about it on ANN.

I don't know why they would drop a block for a single show which aired mostly and only on that block I am willing to believe the block is being drop due to decrease in viewership.
I think I am gonna cry now! :cwy:
Seriously, if it wasn't for Toonami, I would of never heard of Dragonball, Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Gundum Wing, etc. I mean really, this is like a big stab into the heart of my childhood years. Well, good bye Toonami, you will be missed!!
DAMN THAT FUCKING ECONOMY CRISIS!!!!
Thats fucking depressing. So many shows, so many years. Now its gone. DAMN IT!!!
i feel old…
this blows. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
thats all i can really say about this

That depands on how old this news you heared from is and we may not be sure. Anyway I saw this link from Agnoy Booth fourm, I decided to share it here.
Damn out of left field toonami suddenly decides to give up, just like that.
They were on life support for the most part, but they couldnt even have another naruto marathon or something?
God this sucks, I have a feeling were gonna be seeing a LOT more TDI in the near future :/
What does TDI stand for.
total drama island
Fuck that I want more FlapJack.
I stopped watching Toonami years ago. Sad that its gone now. Also, if it wasn't for Toonami, I would have never got into One Piece.
I remember when Tenchi Muyo was on… it was the best!
Yeah, today is a sad. It kinda made it sadder when CN just decide to aired the DBZ Season 6 boxset commercial(Which is the Cell Games) just now. That kinda made me miss the old days. Thank god, I got most of my favorite Toonami shows back in the day and some of now days.
Also, if it wasn't for Toonami, I would have never got into One Piece.
Ya know, it's funny, I'm the oppisite. I did hear of One Piece via the 4kids dub on Toonami, however it was thanks to said dub that I stayed away from One Piece for quite awhile til I saw fansubs online a few years later.
Sigh yet another glorious peice of my childhood, dead. Well I can't say I'm all that surprised. Toonami has gotten pretty bad in the last year or two.

So really true man. The only reason, I still was watching for One Piece, DBZ, Storm Hawks, Zatch, and of course Bobobo.

We will always have memories.

The only regret that I have is that I missed the final episode of Tenchi Universe. But even afterwards there were still plenty of good shows afterwards. Ah well, one less reason to watch TV nowadays.
End thy suffering and Rest well Tom, the Lord doth take thee now.
TAPS
Tom is so fucking silent…. IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!
edit: I am taping all this. (except the first few minutes.)
I want neither
