Yep, you read the title right, Araki Hirohiko's super long manga masterpiece, Jojo's Bizzare Adventure has supposedly been liscensed (NOTE: I said supposedly) by VIZ LLC. On Noriaki Kakyouin's Jojo Shrine website in the news section it says that the Jojo's Bizzare Adventure series has been liscensed by VIZ in hope of releasing it sometime in the coming months but it also says that it on't be the whole series. It says it will start out in Series Three (The Jotaro Kujo Saga and the first appearance of Stands which became the manga's central focus) and probobly go on forth from that.

While this could be a rumor it also kind of adds up that it would be liscensed because of the fact that Dragonball Z has ended in (american) JUMP and Yu-Gi-Oh! Millenium World (The Final Story Arc) is, in terms of a usual traditional manga's length, is close to it's end as well. If they do decide to liscense it it will either go in the magazine in place of DBZ or soon after the Yu-Gi-Oh! series ends. It's also pretty safe to say that, considering the violence that the Jojo series is famous for, it will go into VIZ's "Shonen Jump Advanced" line of Graphic Novels. Either way, this is good news for Jojo fans (Like Buccaneer and myself) who have been waiting and hoping eagerly for the series to be published in english. There are a few downsides though to the supposed liscnesing, including the fact that the first two sagas (The Jonathan Joestar and Joseph Joestar stories) are not going to be released. If they are some time in the future, expect VIZ to turn them into a entirely different series like they did with Yu-Gi-Oh!'s Duelist Kingdom/Battle City (Which was turned into a series called "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist") and Ancient Egypt (Which waas changed into a series called "Yu-Gi-Oh! Millenium World", that is currently serialized in the american JUMP) story arcs. Viz will probobly ruin it with a shitty title such as "Jojo: Beginnings" Or "Jojo: The Lost Volumes". Also, you can expect the stands to be powered by "chi" and the sound efects to be printed in english, and since most charchters and stands are named after musical figures, expect them to be chaged to similar sounding names for fear of getting sued. (Just like the infamous Zoro to Zolo name change) I have checked the VIZ site and nothing about it is on there but nothing apeared about Hikaru no Go's liscnesing until about three months before it release and many people knew about it before the time itwas announced on their website. Whether or not this is a rumor, I hope the releae is soon and not as bad as VIZ usually does the Shueisha JUMP titles it liscneses.
