I never really understood his appeal, he just seems too emotionless for anyone to like.
Why do people like Lucchi so much?
-
-
I agree 100%, only thing he has going for him is his design. Which is just enough for people to orgasm over him for.
-
I liked him because of his powers and overall style. His design was pretty great too. He wasn't really meant to have any personality, since he was really just a bloodthirsty killer.
Not the most amazing OP villain, but I thought he was cool.
-
I think it's because people can like whatever they want. In any case, I don't particularly care for him.
-
I know one reason was because he was a villain that fought Luffy on terms of pure hand to hand combat. We got that with Arlong, but not much with the others. It was tic for tac, beating on each other. Plus, the CP9 fighting style, especially Lucci's was interesting.
-
Liked his design and simple stoic personality, But afterwards when he went all bloodthrist kitten on us and we had to sit thru the same style all over again he lost some points. But he was still a perfectly decent villain, And besides since we got aquinted with him after having suffering thru the Foxy and Eneru arcs he seemed even better.
-
I liked the emotionless, super-assassin angle. It was radically different then anything One Piece had given us before. When you first started reading the story, would you have ever imagined a set of Men in Black-style villians? I certainly didn't. And for that same reason I don't much like the Enies Lobby CP9 members, as they derailed that image. Though Fukurou was surprisingly badass during his fight.
I also liked how the CP9 took these six very basic techniques and mixed them up to produce a number of unique movesets.
-
^ I actually thought they did a pretty decent job of combining the men-in-black theme with the One Piece world.
-
He's pretty cool and such, but I wouldn't rank him in my top 15… Maybe top 20, but still... I fail to see why fangirls swoon over him and Kaku/Paulie =/
-
Yeah, I don't really see the appeal in Kaku either, can someone explain it to me?
-
His design is cool, but hes boring as fuck. It's mostly the OP fangirls that like him. I don't. His abilities are pretty kickass, tho.
-
Kaku at least had fun being an assassin, and did put up a good fight against Zoro. I remember watching them fight in the anime [before he uses his DF] and thinking it was one violent/aggressive swordfight
-

His design? The only thing that's really significant to him is his square nose, which pales in comparison to Usopp's awesome nose.
-
I didn't mean that I don't like Kaku, I ment that I don't understand why fangirls pair Lucci up with Kaku and or Paulie :/
-

I meant Lucchi lol

Ugh, silly Fangirls and their Yaoi.:getlost:

Hehe, sorry.

I know. I don't really get the whole appeal of Yaoi… I mean, it's just 2 guys sodomizing each other and fangirls just eat that shit up?? I wonder how they would react to that stuff in real life. :wassat:
-
They would cry. I have actually had that conversation before lol If they only knew that they couldn't un-see such things
-
Yaoi sucks. End post.
-

Haha. Sucks to be them :ninja:
Though I do understand where they're coming from.. -

He has a good amount of male fans too. I'm one of them. However, I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy.
But man… some of that CP9 yaoi are just...
Yeah, I don't really see the appeal in Kaku either, can someone explain it to me?
I didn't like him at first, but I started to like him more once he showed off his powers and swordsmanship.
I think it's mostly cuz' a lot of people see him as the kindest CP9 member or something.
-
I don't see the appeal in people in people who don't see the appeal in Lucci and the CP9.
Lucci is a bloodthirsty monster who just plain loves to kill, and is really the first villain like that in all of One Piece.
-

But not the only one: Killer
-
Killer hasn't killed yet. He might be a pussycat.
-
The only thing Lucci needed was a bigger backstory, to make him seem more important.
But you have to admit he was awesome when he had Hattori talking for him in W7.
-

Different people, different tastes. Is that concept really that hard for you to grasp. Something is definetely wrong with this world if people need to justify their taste.

You think this is bad, you should visit Gamefaqs/Gamespot forums. Holy hell.. Just no comment.
-
He is the 1st true "martial art" fighter appear in One piece that his martial art fighting skills/abilities are greater than his devil fruit abilities.
he gave us some clue that been a Bad ass is not necessary have to be a Devil fruit user.

Well, if by killer you mean to say simply hyper violent than you should consider the weight of the notion that stop posting your horrible.
-
It's all because of Hattori, I tell you. They just love pigeons, just as they love giraffes.
-
I really like his fighting-styel and his dark Charakter,
And also imho he was far away from Luffy, he just underestimated him. Once he get him into his Sai-dai-rin (sry if its wrong spelled) he just had du "Madaran" Luffy and it would be over. He had so many changes to Pwn Luffy ….. T.T -
i like lucci because he is so evil. he likes to kill and he doesn`t depent on anyone.
-
@ZeArmyOfHalen:

Well, that's why I don't visit such places.^^
Anyway the point, is that either way if people like or dislike a certain character, event or whatsoever then it's ok for them to do so. However requesting explenations for an appeal somehow just has this "I want to love/hate him/her more so give me some input please" vibe to it. It's not just really this thread simply but a general phenomenon here. And I find it rather dull. Pointing things out you liked or disliked is definitely what these forums are here for. But not at the cost of explaining tastes.
-
Because there is a number of OP fans that don't like Luffy and gang. You know, the Anti-Main Cast fanbase, where they just want to see someone else OTHER than the main cast of OP.
-
I think it was just for me nice to see a long vicious fighting battle that Luffy needed his all and still the villain was taking everything he threw at him. We had a lot of guys Luffy was stronger than easily, just some little thing to get by.
Krieg's armor, logias were typically physically weak (even blackbeard notes this, that Ace was exception), Kuro's speed, and what not. It was just nice to have a straight up fight. of course now that we seen that I love the random fight stuff again; Moria and what is to come later who knows.
-
Its the beard and the pigeon, those two things made him evilishly sexy
-
Lucci was bland but somehow the Slash look and Hattori were all that really made him…style over substance. Kaku was sort of bland too (outside the nose) but the craziness of the giraffe power at least made him more interesting.
-
Because he was a badass, and gave Luffy the hardest fight he's ever had. Plus he is a freakin leopard that could kill a man with one finger.
-
Gave a damn good fight… but no substance beyond that. And I said a GOOD fight... not great, not the best... good. There wasn't too much imagination to it (aside from really cool martial arts stuff). I just don't care for his lack of character.
Here is my rundown of Lucci:
-Something evil is happening: I'll smile or act cold and indifferent.
-Just betrayed someone: I'll act cold and indifferent
-Showed someone the difference in our power: Act cold and indifferent while pointing out why i'm stronger and thus better than them.I know that's his character (government assassin), It's just that there was nothing too interesting about him. In fact.. he'd probably be really boring to actually hang out with (Buggy, Foxy, hell even Wapol would be a fun time, if your not on their bad sides).
It's not that I hate him.. I suppose the rest of the events of the arc just grabbed more of my attention.
-
Because he was a badass, and gave Luffy the hardest fight he's ever had. Plus he is a freakin leopard that could kill a man with one finger.
No, I believe Crocodile did that.
-
Lucci is cool, that"s why he is so popular.
He has a great design, a cool bad guy atitude and an evil smile:D
And I think that bad guys are really popular in animes. Just remember Vegita in dragon ball or Gaara and Itachi from Naruto, not to forget Aizen Sousuke from bleach:D
The fact is that bad guys mostly get a really fancy design and a really cool personality, that is the answer to their popularity. -
No, I believe Crocodile did that.
Crocodile didn't give Luffy a hard fight physically, so much as he had an invulnerability Luffy had to overcome. Two losses and one win, where the win was a victory with him still able to stand and carry two people out of a collapsing building simultaneously. It may have been hard in the sense that he was a tough opponent to find the weakness to, but Lucci was a hard opponent in sheer power and ability. Luffy had to overcome his strength and skill, not his weakness or invulnerability. So I think it is fair to say Luffy getting practically defeated and barely able to stand until the end, was his hardest yet.
Think about it from the aftermath perspective. Luffy now knows all he has to do is be wet and/or bloody and Croc is pie. No knowledge of Luffy's will make Lucci any less dangerous an opponent.
-
Holy hell. Taking the words right from my mind, forget the mouth. I haven't even posted and already I feel like you all have been stalking me.
Well, I'm a sucker for villans. I can love almost EVERYONE in One Piece except for Kuro. Or Don Krieg, or most other people from the Baratie arc.
-
I like the Character because it showed something that barly touched before. TRhe true darkside of the world goverment. Sometime we are seeing more as we go deeper into the New World.
-
I like Lucci cause he's just plain badass! He's cool! He just rocks!
-
-
@Zaerkuss:
I never really understood his appeal, he just seems too emotionless for anyone to like.
I Lucci _**FACTS:
1. Lucci is a mammal.
2. Lucci fights ALL the time.
3. The purpose of Lucci is to flip out and kill people.**_ -
I like him because he was finally a saga boss with no logia powers. I got really sick of those after having the previous 2 sagas ending with logia powered Crocodile & Enel followed by a fight against Aokiji (also logia). His DF power and Rokushiki were fresh and very cool after seeing logias for so long. Also i was so glad to have a non goofy acting villain and his personality fit very well with the story .
-
Because Paulie threw him and he stood on one hand…thats why hes cool to me anyways. And his design, i dont give a shit about villian backstories i think i skipped Lucci's in anime and spedread it in the manga
Now Kaku, theres someone i never liked at all except when he jumped off the building. I guess i can see why people like him though, and everyone likes diffrent things. All that said my favorite CP9 was Jyabura then Lucci
-
Loved how they managed to shot and scar his back into the WG logo. Nah villain flashbacks are not for me, If i need to know anything about the baddies past id rather have it hinted like with Croc.
