I lol'd. I see him ALL THE FREAKING TIME at sakuracon, and he's always surrounded by a bunch of melty fangirls
Hiroy's inking fanarts, orignals and sketches
-
-
So I have heard XD
-
Daring comics take a awful long time. Anyways, here's my OP fanrt for this week. Based of the extended scenes in Luffy vs Blueno in the anime. It's low resolution. THe hi-res one would be up on DA soon. The upload time is quite long,
!
-
in pamel 12 why is Blueno so thin?
but Nice. That is a realy gripping fight secene. -
Looks awesome :)
-
@Trafalga:
in pamel 12 why is Blueno so thin?
but Nice. That is a realy gripping fight secene.Maybe it was because I drew the neck a bit too high. It was supposed to be a bit lower, and the shoulders were supposed to be a bit thicker. I guess I ran into an inconstancy. No biggie though.
Thanks for pointing that out.
-
I been thinking about making a spread sometime this month or next. I may do one with Shabondy Park, since it seems fun.
-
Something I drew for my avatar. My next spread would be based on Will of D Reborn (nickname for OP and KHR crossovers). I gave up and Shabondy park for now.
-
xD looks like a crossover betwen Reborn and Luffy :D. Nice
-
Great job on Luborn XD
-
Kizaru's face has so many different messages in one expression. I just had to sketch him.
!
! He got milk already…
-
:D lol nice you are realy quick
-
Lolztastic. I think he looks kinda high sometimes.
With is it with two Admiral looking high, expecially Aoikiji, he's, like, the Weed King.
Kizaru is EPIC WIN. =D
-
Yeah, being quick is for practice.
Aokiji does not seem that high to me… He seems like a lazier version of me... though people often think I'm on drugs.Okay, here's a whif of some crack-art.
!
-
XD very funny Hiroy
-
LOL That's great. You should show this to e1n and the rest of eECA. They are declared Naruto haters.
-
Should I really?
-
That's not true…most of this forum is declared Naruto haters....ok fair enough...there is the odd dozen or two...but fortunately those are recaptured quite quickly.
Brilliant Stuff
-
I always liked reading Naruto. Of course it's not as good as One Piece by far but I still like it . Doesn't mean I can't make jokes about it. Your picture is great.
And yeah you should show this to e1n. i bet he would laugh tears
-
Aokiji does not seem that high to me… He seems like a lazier version of me… though people often think I'm on drugs.
Seriously? Oh, that's awesome. But, Potheads are always tired! Everyone knows that! Plus, his face on OP: UA in the Gallery only, he looks like he just hit a HUUUGE joint! tries hard to keep a straight face
Naruto ftw. I like it, because I don't like Naruto either…
-
Death Death No Piece… Crack art.
bigger version on my DA
-
The Death Note-Luffy just looks like Luffy with Meterosexual hair but the Moria-Riuk cracked me up
-
I felt like drawing Riuk Moria agian soon XD
Anyways, here's a sketch book dump. I was drawing several shots from the manga toget a feel of the character's quirks(like I always do). I added text and found the dry humor funny.
!
-
Mine is small, small is better great. just great
-
Wish I was as good as you, especially with backgrounds and stuff, I suck at that…
-
I wish I was as good as most of the members here, but I guess practice helps.
A card I made for my sister. It's a "welcome home" token from the time in the scholarship program she is doing. Chopper is her favorite, so I decided to make him as cute as I could to my ability.
!
Hopefully she does not eat the paper.
-
Haha! That's so awesome!
You did it really well :D
I'm sure she'll love it -
Thanks. It feels great making things for people close to you.
-
That'S so sweet. It realy looks like you put a lot of efford in this.
-
Hiroy how did you get choppers hat to look like that? Thats badass
-
I used a texture technique e1n uses(he does it better) in which you hatch parallel lines(I did 4 to 6) in small sections in different directions(making sure that you avoid doing some that are next to eachother in the same direction). Then I went over that with a grey copic. It's simple, but a bit time costly.
I been trying to figure out lat night how Oda does trees and I'm assuming he may have done it with a brush. So I was pretty much experimenting with a crappy brush I found all night @_@. Too bad the brush was crappy. The effects I gained from it looked to gothic and I avoided putting that on the card.
-
Wow I SO envy you for you fast improving skills.
I can't get a decend picture done right now I'm stuck at shading. Just can't seem to get the shadows right.
-
Work from the basics. Try PoseManiacs.com for good references in practice and if you can, try using the timer or the unlimited time pose randomizer. The timer allows you to exercise your brain and how quickly you can sketch or draw a pose. I don't use it often though, but it can work for other people.
As for shading, try figuring our which direction you want your light and work from where you think shadows may show. It would not be perfect, but as you keep practicing the more you get better at it. Also, it's good to look at your work and see what you are doing wrong, how to avoid it and keep that in mind on your next project or sketch.
That's my advice.
-
wow thanks. I'll keep that in mind. I just have to overcome the phase were I get frustrated because I ruin all my pictures through bad shadig
-

-
Yeah. I made him curvy on purpose.
-
i read threads in the art forum, though i don't usually comment on them because i'm a lazy bastard xD. and then once in a while i feel like making a long comment on stuff, so i'm gonna do it here. overall: you've progressed a lot within a little over a month. that's pretty impressive.
in terms of basic skills and technique, i don't think you have much to improve anymore since you're already good at them, so you should probably move your focus to the more advanced stage instead of practicing drawing sketches of face or bust. by "advanced," i meant that you should focus more on "finalizing" your work.
your anatomy and perspective need some work… but yes, posemaniac is great to get the gist of gesture and movement for the anatomy part. as for perspective, google-image some building interiors or mansions or country roads or just sceneries in general, and your sense of proportion will improve in no time.
i'm actually impressed by your "finished" work. like the ones you did for your newspaper and your sister.

http://www.apforums.net/showpost.php?p=903817&postcount=8
http://www.apforums.net/showpost.php?p=924906&postcount=76if you were to put those next to the quick sketches you have posted here, i would not think that they were done by the same person. this is not meant to be a negative comment, but if you can finalize your pieces like the ones i linked here, why stop at those quick sketches? finish them. finalize them. your finalized pieces are much better than your sketches, so i say you should move on to a level where every "sketch" can stand on its own as a "finished piece."
focus on the details of your work, because they do determine the feel and quality of the piece. this one postcard you did for your friend, for example. the idea is good, the feel is good, the fun is conveyed, but the perspective, anatomy, and proportion problems take away the good stuff. if you want to draw a piece that includes 15 characters and background, you should at least spend the same amount of time on EACH character as you did on that one chopper for your sister. you KNOW you can draw them better, so why not? this one piece would've been better if you just had 5 or less characters in it so you can spend more time in making sure that each character gets all the details and attention they need.
think of the characters you draw like your girlfriends. when you draw one character, spend a lot of time with it, care for it, caress it, love it. when you draw two or more characters, then treat it like you have 2 or more girlfriends. spend the same amount of time with them, care, caress, and love them equally, otherwise one would get jealous. =)
also, when it comes to drawing a piece with many characters in it interacting with each other, it's a good idea to make the characters stand out more than the background. characters need to be in the foreground, and background needs to be in the… well, background. you have experience with nib pens and microns, so you should know about line thickness. in micronspeak: 005 for the background, 01 and 02 for the characters.
i look forward to more finalized pieces of yours. they're good stuff.
-
Oh my god(calming down). I knew you would keep our promise. Thank you very very much e1n. Your words about going for more finished work reminds me of what an art teacher said to me last year, though he was really vague about it. This taught me alot and by that I mean this should lead me in the right direction.
I'm going to print these words, place it on my wall(I'm serious tooXD) and make an oath to care about each work, each character like my own child or girl(lol).
Now I feel like finishing that Ryuuma picture…. though the background is a unerasable mistake.
-
i would just finish whatever needs to be finished even if there are mistakes. even the thriller bark diner pic has a lot mistakes that are now more obvious to me, but if you never finish them, you'll never catch the mistakes.
-
I got around finishing the the card I'm made for my sister and I'm quite happy with it now. I used a brush and a micron for the trees. I knew there were other methods, but this was the only one I had access to.
!
And something I drew to amuse myself again under boredom in class.
No pun intended…. Just mocking his fans.
-
XD very funny Hiroy
-
I dont like his movies too boring
-
Niiice. I wouldn't even want Oda's shit.
-
Who would want shit anyways? XD
Anyhows, I drew this sketch for my friend on Gaiaonline. My time limit was two hours since I have so many things to do. Even though I had like 30 minutes left, I went into it and added more and more while trying to find a leanr different hatching methods. I'm not happy with some parts though. Simon's hand is a bit large…. I guess that's what I get for not looking over the proportions before re-inking. I also could have added more shading to the right and finish that part to the right of Simon's head.... XD hah....
!
-
My first time drawing Nitemare Luffy. It came out to be about finished like I never intended to… I took a snapshot since the scanner is a bitch.
!
-
awesomeness. Definately one of the best Nightmare Luffy fanarts I've ever seen :D
-
Thats good! I like the pose and the darkness, the only real thing to critique i would say is is right eye looks a little weird but wateva
-
YeahI just noticed. There's a few things I wish I could fix. The fingers are strange. Drawing from top-left to bottem-right in curves is a blind-spot I have and I should have turned the paper more.
And then there's the teeth…. I made a mistake and drew a line to make two rows. It would have looked more like N-Luffy with one row.
-
will you do a scan of that at a later date? It looks pretty good
