IMOQ was great. It had an awesome plot and had a nice variety of likeable characters (many not even dealing with the main plot, helping with the MMO feel). I liked how many different areas there were, and the dungeons too (especially the ice castles and the fleshy ones). The combat was bland, but it worked well-enough (since the game focused more on story, anyway).
I hated GU, though. On its own, it would've been fine (if nothing special), but it was terrible compared to the original. The combat was fast-paced and fun (a definite plus), but it was rediculously easy. The story tried too hard to be cool and edgy; and most of the characters were a bunch of boring cliches (some with personalities real odd for being in a game about an MMO) and I couldn't find myself emotionally invested in any of them. I hated how they cut down the areas into repetitive island platforms with little variation beyond times of day and weather. Plus the plot was sloppily put together and ignored massive opportunities.
And honestly, it felt more like a self-aware RPG than anything.
But before I start ranting on and on forever, I'd like to share this:
The movie itself came out in theaters a few days ago. I'd like to know what it's about (besides someone new using Kite's avatar. again.)
