Well, I'm a huge Pikmin fan, so I guess people can talk about Pikmin in this thread. The biggest thing I'm excited about is Pikmin 3 though. Recently, in the past few weeks there have been some very subtle, yet eminent hints for Pikmin 3.
July 12, 2007 - Every time we chat with Nintendo's famous producer, Shigeru Miyamoto, we bring up at least one franchise we'd like to see remade for the company's current-generation console. It used to be Metroid. Then it was Kid Icarus. And most recently, it's become Pikmin. When quizzed on the subject, Miyamoto all but revealed that another Pikmin was in development for Wii.
"I certainly don't think we've seen the last of Pikmin," he said. "I definitely would like to do something with them, and I think the Wii interface in particular is very well suited to that franchise."
Of course, he did not divulge any further specifics, but it seems to be a safe bet that we'll see the return of the Pikmin franchise on Wii at some point in the future.
Though he didn't fully announce it, it is safe to assume that a Pikmin 3 will appear on the Wii. Whether the game is in development or not is unknown.
On the 18th of April, 2008, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed in an interview on the topic of Wii Fit that he desired to continue with the Pikmin series in the following article:[6]
As for what the developer would like to work on next, Miyamoto said he's looking forward to working on the Wii some more. He also reiterated his desire to make another entry in the Pikmin series of action strategy games.
In the most recent issue of Nintendo Power, Nintendo hid clues to unnannounced games in a picture of a moon. While debatable, a pikmin face can be seen on the right hand side. Slightly above that, a shape resembling the S.S. Dolphin can be seen.

I would love to see a new Pikmin game. I would buy it a fucking heartbeat.
The part I would be most excited about would be new Pikmin colors, like a green or pink Pikmin. I sure hope their plans for the series comes to fruition.
-
I had the first one. But my aunts boyfriend ended up playing it more often and eventually finished it. The monsters sorta creeped me out. Especially the the one with the gardening tool hands, the mushroom, and the final king grubdog thing…
-
I never finished the first one, but my brother has.
Hopefully one day, I can go back and finish the first one. -
The Pikmin games are probably my favorite Gamecube games. I think there's a lot of potential for a Wii sequel, especially considering the possiblilty of using the Wiimote somehow.
My favorite boss was probably the Man-at-Legs. Just the concept of a giant spider gunning your Pikmin down with an effing machine gun screams awesome.

I spent a good 5 minutes studying that picture to see what clues they were hiding. What I got out of it was a weird picture of Weavel (from Metroid Prime Hunters) that seemed fairly credible.
Now I know… -
Well, assuming that the game does come out…
I sort of hope that there is a return of Louie. Also, I would be sort of interested in the potential of a few different colored Pikmin being added, like Orange, Green or Pink Pikmin. Maybe even Black Pikmin. Well, I hope it gets released in holiday season 2008 or early 2009. I'm pretty pumped, considering Pikmin 1 and 2 were some of my favorite games of all time.

This was the first game I got along with my Gamecube, and I love it to this day. It's just so much fun.
I'm waiting on another game avidly.

7:35 PM: Pikmin 3 is official!
Nintendo's second conference
FUCKKKKK YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH
Pikmin 3 and Animal Crossing Wii- the only things I basically wanted for the rest of this year… -
Yay! I loved Pikmin ever since the first game. I can't wait~

No.
The moon was for Castlevania NOTHING ELSE
He posted that quite a while ago, before we knew what it was…
-
LOL, I GUESS I SHOULD READ THE DATES NEXT TIME
I saw that you had bumped it up, and thought that Mr. Zoro's post was what brought it up lol.
-
I hope Pikmin 3 will be more like the first Pikmin. Enjoyed Pikmin 2 - the new pikmins, the multiplayer and whatnot - but I enjoyed Pikmin 1 more. And I think that was because of the level design. Anyway, Wii is too perfect for Pikmin. You can't make a console like that and not make a Pikmin game for it!
-
I nevered played Pikman 1 or Pikman 2.Are they sequals or are they just Games that don't really follow each other ?
-
What do you mean by that Supernova? If you are asking if Pikmin 2 is a sequel to Pikmin, then yes, but if you are asking if they are do different games, then no. Seriously though, you should pick up the game. The first two were for the gamecube. Both of them are wickedly clever, and take skill to beat. The first and second are some of my favorite games of all time.
Also, Miyamoto announced Pikmin 3 last night being official, but with no clip or anything, do you guys think its going to come out in 2008 or early 2009? Or will it just be revealed at next e3?
-
prbly revealed at the next E3.
When I mean by sequal I meant do you have to play the First pikman to understand what is going on in the second pikman.like an actual story line.
Also I heard that there coming out with another mario Galaxy. That should be cool.
