Ok first off, before FFA comes barging in screaming that people in One Piece do die, this thread isn't about that.
Its simply quite obvious that there have been deaths in One Piece (not just flashbacks).
Edit:
ie) Higuma, Mr. 11 etc etc (got Mr.7 mixed with Mr.11)
Also this isn't just about the recent pirate getting a collar explosion and shot lying face down in the ground. Rather its from the multitude of responses I seem to be reading.
As we know, Oda himself doesn't like having people dying in One Piece. Still there are a abundance of fans that hate this fact. Haters of the manga even often use this fact when calling One Piece too "childish"
So my question to you is, do you think that Oda should submit to the growing demand of more deaths in One Piece, or stick to his pacifist view on killing?
I am with the latter. If Oda prefers not to have his characters killed, then I think he should stick with it. It's his manga, and if he wants to deviate from how most shounen mangas do it, then DO IT!
Obviously, the manga is starting to get more violent and serious, as with the New World and such. Regardless, I still stick with my opinion. There are a bunch of deaths in other shounen mangas already and considering how well One Piece is doing already, I say just leave it be.
