Trigun: The movie
-
-
It's animated.
Yes.It's not an American made live-action crapfest.
Yes.YES!
-
I want a trailer fuck it!
-
I can dig it
inb4 why not animate rest of manga
-
I take it neither TriP of Death and Double Fang are gonna be in this movie huh?
-
Well shit, ain't this what I've been craving. Can't wait!
-
Awesome, this should be fun. This reminds me I need to pick the manga back up, I have most of it on disk.
-
Well, I was kinda hoping that they'd animate some of trimax, but this should be good too. Always nice to see Nightow working closely with anime productions.
-
I've known about this for a couple of years now but it had been a while since I saw any news so it's good to know it's still going and finally a little more info on what the plot of the film will be.
go go run on sentence!
-
WOW. Now that's something to look forward to.
-
Should be seven kinds of awesome, but nothing can live up to the Wolfwood vs. Razlo/Livio fight. That was the most epic fight ever.
-
Glad to see it finally talked about again after it was mentioned a long time ago.
Definitely looking forward to it. Trigun was one of the first anime I got into.
-
I should probably read this manga. The anime ending was pretty much terrible.
-
Soooooo basically this movie will be about Vash & Wolfwood going head to head?
My question is why? -
I'm looking forward to the new Slayers show a lot more really, if only to see what all the hype for Slayers is all about. Trigun's a lot like Bebop….soooooo overhyped and really a focus of nostalgia for too many people. It's a pretty ordinary show by yesterday and today's standards, yet has about as vibrant a following here as Nanoha does in Japan.
I did dig Wolfwood, though! He was probably my first introduction to "Japanized" takes on traditional/classical roles in Western society.
-
Holy Hell!!!
We've Got Something To Hope For Again!!

I was wondering when we'd get another Slayers series never actually thought it'd happen.
-
Planned for 2009 http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-02-27/animated-trigun-the-movie-planned-for-2009-in-japan
meh been waiting since 2007… -
oh god NO!!!!
This isn't good news at all and i'm a fan of Trigun. "original story vash vs. wolfwood" wow that is SO original since wolfwood was one of the gungho guns with the title: the evergreen. Seeing this is just too fucking stupid. Now what they SHOULD do is re-make the entire anime and go by how the manga went cause let's face it manga>anime ALWAYS. -
Did the wind just blow?
-
I'm not so sure that the Trigun manga was better than the anime, because I understood the anime perfectly, but the manga had me horribly confused during the last half of volume 2. In any case, it's nice to see Vash getting some attention. Now all we need is a new HxH ova…
-
What Cosmic said.

It's okay but the artwork starts getting a bit inconsistent during Vash & Wolfwood's fight with Grey The 9 Lives and that Puppeteer guy.
-
I liked the anime. haven't read the manga. art isn't as apealing to me, but someday, i guess, i'll read it. a movie sounds interesting. I'll check it out, but I'm not a fan of deviating from the original art and stuff. I find sometimes, when they bring stuff back, it's not for the best. eh, if it's good it's good. if it's not it's not. we'll have to see.

I honestly thought the artwork was getting much better by than.
-
I haven't read since the part where those little creatures that came out a Grey's body to try and kill everyone on the ship.
-
first of all slayers is one of the best anime's i've ever watched
second of all are they going to make
vash into a girl again?
-
^What in the name of the Great Worm Spirit are you babbling about? Do you mean making Vash act like a little whining girl?
-
I got a bit lost in the manga…I'd like to pick it up again, but I dunno, lazy...
I have always really liked the anime, even if it is divergent from the manga, the story was well put together for those 26 episodes. -
^I personally felt it boring after Vash blows up the moon, but the final battle against Knives was pretty good.
-
I like the anime and manga about the same. The manga is really a lot more complete than the anime, but the anime just..flows better. I can't really explain it.
-
I personally liked the manga better because of the dramatic scenes. That and it went longer. Though, I do love the anime. And this news makes me happy. We have confirmation!
-
I like the anime a lot, but from the third volume of the original series on, and SPECIALLY with trimax, I felt that the manga surpassed it in every possible way.
I can understand why others couldn't get into it, though, specially with the art. While one of my personal favorites, the manga just isn't for all tastes, specially because of the art.

i like watching the final battle to "dueling banjos" XD

The manga is much better than the anime. The only bad thing, with Nightow's artwork, it's really hard to tell what's going on at some points, especially in the early volumes.
-
The only bad thing in the manga other than art consistency is
! Wolfwood still dies
-
^…but he still goes out with a bang; his fight against Fang and TriP of Death was great IMO.
-
I loved how Nightow did that event. It was easily the best episode in the anime, and if he had done it the same way, it wouldn't have lived up to the original, and people would be making comparisons forever. Instead he did the smart thing, which is to go on a completely different direction.
I think a lot of the reason why trimax turned out so well was because of things like that. He knew everybody reading the manga had seen the anime before, so he was always playing with our expectations.
-

True, but it still very well done. Personally I like the way it was handled in that one better then the anime, that just me though.
Though I know what most of you mean by inconstant when it come to the battles. Hard to tell whose shooting who and who hit what, pretty crazy.
-
It's inconsistent actually.
-
Trigun movie trailer[LQ] was filmed by wolvesan at Anime Expo 2009 during the Yasuhiro Nightow and Satoshi Nishimura panel:

LOL at the Narrator -
So amazing. Thank you.
-
Can't Fucking Wait!!!
Yessssssss!!!!!!!
-
good trailer but honestly nothing about it drew me in to go: OMG Z AWESOMEZ!!
-
whoo air guitars theme music
i like trigun, but ya, geppett's right, i'm not impressed by the trailer yet. we'll have to watch and see if it's any good.
-
The hell?
They've been working on this how long and THAT'S what it looks like? Looks like they pumped up the budget of a TV episode a bit.
-
Thats all about the Engrish narrator. But… doesn't look terribly impressive. Looks just like the show did. And considering its a MOVIE, and considering the show came out what, 11 years ago? Thats pretty weak.
Give Vash's coat 10,000 elaborate wrinkle folds like in the Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust movie or third layer shadows or... more lens flares or... something.
Eh. Maybe its just a launch to gauge if they should do a flat out new anime series, given how long its been and the fact that the manga finished a year ago.... Hopefully itll at least have some crazy, movie budget quality action sequences. if they throw all the money into key bits, thats okay...
