Well, the profile entry said "Titan and many others"
And the body said "He can use many different magics, including fire, lightning, and ice" or something like that.
So yeah.

Is it just me, or all these other S-Ranked members' reputations kind of overshadowing Erza?
They have from the beginning.
Yeah Erza was sort of always shown as on par with/a bit stronger than Natsu and Grey. With the S-ranked guys being much stronger than any of them.
Which sort of makes me wonder what everyone's rank is.
i think thats the whole point as i think she is suppose to be the newest s class in fairy tail so menaing she still has alot of potential to expand her power
@Mr.:

It's been stated that Erza is S-Ranked as well as Mist Gun, Luxus, and Gildartz. I imagine everyone else relevant is A-Ranked, although Elfman might be B+ ranked, since Marijane didn't think he could fight well enough against Element 4.
Erza is S-Ranked, but it's been implied that the other S-Ranked people are much stronger.
And she's way above Natsu and Grey. She one-shotted Aria, remember.
Well, yeah, of course she's above Grey and Natsu, even though she did that whole, "Natsu Dragonil, strive to surpass me!" bit after her fight.
@Cap'n:
And she's way above Natsu and Grey. She one-shotted Aria, remember.
That still has been the one major disappointment I've had with this series so far.
But yeah, Erza's the weakest of the S-Ranked mages, the other three have been hyped up well enough to be considered a good deal stronger.
Mist Gun isn't all hype, in fact no one's really raised him up all that much. It's all mostly observational stuff, like making everyone fall asleep and defeating all the sub-guilds.
That's exactly it though, Mist Gun has done all these things like put everyone to sleep so easily and defeat all those sub-divisions without us knowing anything about him; it's building him up i.e. hype.
I would say Erza's the weakest because she lacks the experience of the other three, but I could still see her fighting off Luxus in the future. If Luxus actually takes over the guild, I bet Erza would be like the first one to stand up against him.
But still, Luxus has all the lighting stuff going on…
What if he can create magnetic fields? Erza's armors would become more of an annoyance than a advantage.
Anyways, I wonder what's Mist Gun Magic....
The theory for Mist Gun's magic is that he can "turn on and off mana", but I don't really like that idea that much.
And I don't think he'd make a magnetic field to affect Erza, nor do I think that would matter very much.
Erza probably has an ANTI-MAGNETIC FIELD ARMOR WITH RUBBER TITS somewhere I'm sure
That's actually probably something she'd whip out.
When she had the "anti-fire" armor, the throwing armor, and the anti-evil spear, I was like, "Wow, that's convenient." And for the throwing armor I also added, "Wow, that's pretty useless except for this one instance right here."
She's basically the Kakashi of Fairy Tail.
Except more hot and less hospital prone.
I wonder if they'll ever expand on how the ex-quipping magic is supposed to work. For example, is there a certain level of expertise needed to use strong magic armors or has Erza just more money to spend than other mages of her kind.
The only thing i remember is that the swords mages of Eisenwald were impressed with her ex-quipping speed.
Probably just because of her expertise with it and her magic power level. Her physical strength is also really high too, so that's part of why she's so powerful.
She's busy having to cut demons in half with shitty swords to earn her title while Luxus just has to teleport away from Natsu's fist and listen to magical prog rock.
She's probably pretty legendary also because she's probably gone through a lot to find all of those different types of armor.
You have to wonder just what inspired her to obtain the MYSTICAL ARMOR OF THROWING, though.
The 'anti fire' one I can understand having a need to obtain, especially in the world of magic. But throwing?
Did she lose a rock-skipping contest as a kid or something?
Before someone comes on and screams "FOR SPEARS", in a real magical fight, throwing a spear is stupid.

Since only she and 3-5 others are allowed to take the highrisk-highreward S ranked jobs I'm betting she has a fair deal more money then the other (non S rtanked) mages in fairy tale.
the trowing armor might have been a lesser questreward or something (as in do this for us and get 2 interesting and one somewhat mediocre magical sets ofarmor)? or came as a combination with a really awesome spear?
Makarov probably introduced Erza to some magical blacksmith of sorts when she was still little, then she could have gotten the materials for her many armors as payments for her jobs. If I remember correctly, the Ex-Quip Magic is more about the Hammer-Dimensions and summonings than the actual armors.
Did she lose a rock-skipping contest as a kid or something?
Hey, it saved an entire island full of demons and had they actually offically taken up the job, it would've been some awsome money. It got my respect!
But that's the only time I can see it being useful…
it looked pretty awesome though
except for the fact it changed course upwards suddenly…
Fairy Tail is run by a bunch of damn yankees.:getlost: In other news…
looks like another job is set up for the "strongest team" in Fairy Tail. So now they have to go shut down an illegal magic school? I wonder what kind of enemies we'll be seeing in this arc? And most importantly, if this arc will give us some good backstory on Erza? We've already covered Gray and Lucy. Although, Happy might not be out of the question either.
Didn't they already take care of that? At the the end of the chapter Mira Jane tells Makarov that they destroyed the town again.
Franky House's scanlations say that they destroyed half a stretch of road. Or is FH's scanlations ass?
Well, yeah. I didn't remember exactly what it said, but it seems like that job is over with. It seemed like it was a little gag so we could see Makarov's reaction at the end.
Don't think it was meant to start a new arc or whatever.
Binktopia is better than FH imo. Franky House is usually the last scanlation I want, but it's usually the first place to put One Piece out.. so I'm get stuck with them. Binktopia/Mangashare/Bludshock is definately my favorite scan source.
Okay then.
By the way, does anyone think that the new guild kind of looks like an oversized meat smokehouse from the construction? That's kind of the impression I'm getting based on its structure…so far.
so far it doesn´t look like a clone of the previous guild house
i would go nuts if "WEVE REBUILT THE GUILD SINCE WE LOVE IT SO MUCH"
The way the guild looked before, it seemed like there were a bunch of useless rooms, since all I've seen is a bar and another little bar above it.
While we're waiting for the next chapter to come out, here's an interesting question:
What kind of english voices do you guys picture in your heads when you read the manga?
Here's mine:
Erica Schroeder - Natsu
Yuri Lowenthal - Gray
Taylor Henry - Narrator and Elfman
Lisa Ortiz - Happy
Derek Stephen Prince - Totomaru
Alan Rickman - Jose
Gary Chalk - Aria, Duke of Everoo
Marcy Rae - Jubia/Lluvia
Stan Hart - Makarov
Mary Elizabeth McGlynn - Erza
Scott McNeil - Gazille
Brian Drummond - Yuka
Larry Kenney - Toby
Laura Bailey - Mirajane
Johnny Young Bosch - Loki
Scottie Ray - Luxus
Daran Norris - Bora of Prominence
Steve Blum - Eligor the Shinigami
J. Ward Regan - Sol, Reedus
Maryke Hendrikse - Kana
Tiffany Vollmer - Lucy
Kirby Morrow - Sieglein
Michelle Ruff - Levi
Wendee Lee - Urtear
Michael McConnohie - Lord Heartphilia
Paul Dobson - Leon
Sir Ian McKellen - "Gandalf"
That's all I can think off the top of my head right now.
new chapters out, it's all fillers, the group gets hired to do a stage show, and of course they destroy the stage by the end of the chapter.

I'd picture him with a girl's too but… her?
I'm starting to believe that "Gandalf" is actually pretty stupid and just a puppet for Sieg and his pet to eventually take over the Magic Council…..
The volume 8 cover is out.
!
Seems Gazelle has normal skin color. But in that one color page he had metallic colored skin…
Either Mashima changed it, or his skin was silver because he ate metal or something...
Jose has a pretty cool color scheme, though, I guess.
I picked this up a few days ago, good stuff.
!
Is it just me…or does this cover look a little...cheap? It kinda looks like the characters were pasted on instead of drawn into their environment. And why the fuck is Gazille scoping out Erza's rack?
@Really:

Yeah, I noticed that immediately off the bat too. It's not that big of a deal though.
@Silver:
I'd picture him with a girl's too but… her?
Why not? I think she would fit. She just needs to use a much more mature tone of her Chopper voice and bam! (And no, I don't mean BIG chopper!)
@rusashi:

Whoa, whoa, WHOA! Did I just read this post correctly? Did you just mention that Hiro Mashima, the original creator of the manga, put in a filler? I thought that is something we only bitch about to anime studios!

Because you would also have a "Girls in armor" fetish if you ate Metal. :P
@Kaimei-Karasuhebi:

hehehe, good one.
It looks to me like he's reflecting the color of the background.
The cover looks good to me, although the cover of voulume 7 is easily the best cover wev'e had so far.
I kinda liked Kana, random shade, and Sagitarrius just hanging out in the bottom corner.
I would have liked a cover with Natsu fetching one of Sagitariu's arrows or maybe a majestic image of Jose with his arms wide open in the background and the element four standing in front as Gazille and Natsu are in the opposite sides of the cover throwing fire/nails at each other, forming somehow an arc of dragon breath around the ones in the center.
I wouldn't have.
It was good to see a fun chapter like that, especially after all the drama that followed Fairy Tail vs. Phantom Lord. The whole idea of Natsu and Co. replacing actors in a play, only to have it end in disaster was extremely predictible since I've seen the same story done so many times now, but still kind of entertaining. The play they stared in made me think of the opera from Final Fantasy VI.
Honestly this chapter felt like more like an omake or something.
Either Mashima used this as a "filler" chapter so he could get ideas, or this play will somehow lead into a new arc.
