Not sure if it was mentioned, but Fate/stay night's anime was pretty bad.
Here we have a show that's all ready to surpass Cowboy Bebop in popularity with a robust internet following years before the anime was even announced, with top-notch voice actors (perfect casting) and a studio of some reknown (a Sunrise knock-off called Studo DEEN).
Then we find out it's trash. Outsourced artwork, recycled animation, hackdash plot, lackluster script, inane, stupid scenario thatching, and a horrible resolution that is the metaphorical equivalent of driving a nail through one's anus and having it erupt through the fatty tissue of the left eye with blood gushing from severed arteries and torn flesh crisping to the heat of the driven-home point; Fate/stay night sucks.
Really, I was all ready to go looney over that show (and did for a while) and proclaim it the best show in six years, but it failed pretty hard and I still haven't forgiven DEEN for ditching Unlimited Blade Works because the director liked to masturbate to Ayako Kawasumi's voice after he finished drawing storyboards for Saber.
