selfishness,maybe ?

what are you talking about lobo?
-
a guy said he wants Santa as an OP character just cause of them AMV's he could make.
-
You know what's gonna be really awesome? Luffy eating all the takoyaki from Hatchan's stand. Poor guy. And Luffy won't even remember who he is, probably.
Wait, was Hatchan's stand near Fishman Island?
-
Wait, was Hatchan's stand near Fishman Island?
Yea, I'm pretty sure his cover serial took place there.
-

We don´t know actually. But seeing that the Marine ships can enter the Grand Line by crossing the Calm Belt (though that still doesn´t explain how they move without wind and currents) it´s not that much of a stretch to expect that Hatchan escaped while the ship was close to Headquarters, Enies Lobby or Impel Down, which all don´t seem to be that far away from Fishman Island actually.
Then again, it also all might have happened in East Blue, because merfolk such as Camie, the Catfish Tribe, the Macro Fishman Pirates or Octopako can practically leave everywhere on the Ocean Floor and don´t have to be tied to Fishman Island. So both options are possible.

What the hell did you expect from someone using the Internet? :wassat:

I'm extremely excited for this arc because it has been a long time coming. There has been mention of fishman island very early in the SBS question corners therefore it's probably part of the original story Oda set out to write in for 5 years instead of the 10+ years it's doing now. He also mentioned in one of the very early SBS quetion corners that it is located half way through the grand line. That seems just right!
P.S. I don't remember exactly which volume. anywhere in between 1 and 10 I think. -
mugiwara maniac: It's not so much that Oda has added more stories then he intended to OP. It's just that he is crappy at aproximateing how long the stories he got will take.
-

Well… you know he's going to say it… -_-
Anyway, I hope that we get to see our old friends Hatchi, Kerobi, and Chuu with massive powerups. And they must fight the Strawhats of course ;D

Look, I like minor characters as much as anyone. Seriously. But I have read way to many stories, in which there is the chapter where EVERYONE comes back. And it's terrible. Buggy and Alivda returning was cool, Coby and Helmeppo was beyond cool. But if everyone comes back then it's just terrible. The cover stories are ways to explore fun characters without bringing them back in.
Not upset at you lobster, just the general idea of EVERYONE coming back… it's far too overused in stories...

Like in Bobobo? Where he teams up with ALL of his previous villians to fight the bad guy at the end? (at the end of the anime atleast)

ummm… sure. Why not?
I saw like one ep of the english dub.
Then I hit myself with a hammer and changed the channel. I've never looked back
But back On topic:
fishman isle's gonna suck!:ninja:
-
Buggy showing up at the end makes sense. After all, he's Shank's friend, despite him not liking the idea.

You've double failed =/

Hopefully. And he'd better not be a joke character like in the Feudal Island episodes.
And Kaimei-Karashebi… could you atleast use a good Kuro picture as the head, in your sig…
Instead of a horribly distorted version of my avatar? -__- -

are you saying that bobobobooobobobobo was good?
and was the the english dub? or the actual japanese anime?

Off Topic…
are you saying that bobobobooobobobobo was good? and was the the english dub? or the actual japanese anime?
The japanese was much better of course, with all of the non translatable puns… however the English dub was excellent as well. Alot of the earlier ones weren't dubbed as well though, but as the series progressed, the VA's really got the hang of it. And it was awesome ;3
On Topic:Has Oda ever given anymore information about Fishman Island in the SBS? Where did he even mention that it was underwater? o_o
-
Kokoro in water 7. and the logpose pointing downwards.
(i think)
-
I hope to see fishmen island pretty soon. I'm curious to see if the goldfish princess http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Goldfish_Princess will appear (like Camie did), it remind me of the disney movie "the little mermaid", i love it.
-
I guess you enjoy bumping threads that are exactly two years old.
Funny thing is, I think everybody thought Fishman Island would've been over with by now. We ain't even there yet.
-
Fishman Island is a lie.
-
-

No. Instead of creating new threads i find old thread, it avoid a merge (or not). Anyway, it's not like this forum need some news discussion. Haki and "jinbei or hancock on the crew?" are pretty interesting discussions.
-
I applaud your initiative People Call Me E, though we won't crucify you if you wanna create a new thread.
But in this instance, you probably did the right thing.
-
Thanx you Battle Franky.
Also, during this arc, i hope that Oda planned a Flashback like Skypia had (8 or 9 chapter is great). I miss the long flashback…. In this, we could learn more about Jinbei and Fisher Tiger, slavery, and the contract with the Government.
Also, my best hope, is to see: A MERMAN! there is a Mermaid Princess, i guess there is a Merman King. http://pic70.picturetrail.com/VOL1793/11770669/20916177/343574328.jpg
Love it. -
A fisher tiger flashback would be really cool to see.
Although i'd greatly enjoy seeing what Jinbei was like when he was young.
-
I'm terrified of seeing a young, sympathetic Arlong, before he became a monster, and then never being able to look at him the same way again.
Its bad enough we know that he longed to ride that damn ferris wheel.
-
What was that like Arlong's jumping off point?
If only Sabaody knew the pain they inadvertently caused for that village.
-
Who here truely expects to see fishman island in 2010? There should be a poll, hahaha.
And not just a flash back of someone there, but who here expects the crew to make it to fishman island? Even if the final chapter of the year is them taking one step out of the sunny and into the under water cave thing.
I truely want to say that I do, but i'm just trying to figure out if Oda will really get us there in 50 chapters or so. Actually 50 is allot, so yeah I could see the crew reunited by years end and taking that first glorious glimps into fishman island. But thats 50 if there are absolutely no breaks and such which is impossible.
-
What can Oda do in 2010: the end of the war; Blackbeard? , the return of the SH and some explanation of what they did, the mystery about Luffy age, the return at Shabondy island, Hancock stuff, … Now, if fishmen island is in 2010, the SH will go at the island after the war. But it's OP, we can't be sure.
What can shift fishmen arc? an arc on MarieJoa. We did Impel down, and marine ford. MarieJoa is the only thing which come in my mind
-
lol, it'll probably be the climax in December 2010.
"LET'S GO TO FISHMAN ISLAND!"
"YEEEEAHHHH!"
3 week break -
Fishman Island is a lie.
I agree, by the time the crew comes back, the Red Line will have a fault and they can head through it and no need for FI…
Or, the WG will just let them head through their capital; because of that lie known as FI...
-
In the midst of all the event, the log post had set itself onto a new island and thus the SHs will be unable to find fishmen island

A Timeline of Fishman Island…
Chapter 69: Fishman Island is first mentioned.
Chapter 435: Kokoro: "The next island is... Fishman Island!... But first you'll have to go through the Florian Triangle..."
Chapter 496: We discover that one of the two routes to the new world is via Fishman Island; the crew heads to Saoboady Archipelago to get the ship coated in preparation for the seafloor journey.
Chapter 513: I guess we're not going to Fishman Island after-all...
Chapter 529: Jimbei sheds some light on the history of Fishman Island
Chapter 600: The war is over, the crew is back together (somehow). "Set sail for Fishman Island!"
-------------Timeskip-------------
Chapter 601: Somewhere in the New World, 18-Year-Old Luffy says: "Wow, Fishman Island was Awesome!!!"

I still wonder what will happen down there if WB dies. He pretty much owns Fishman Island.
-

We'll get an even more epic Fishman Island arc, that's what. Makes sense that the man who brings peace to Fishman Island dies just before the Straw Hats visit it. Maybe there's a group of evil mermen or someone looking to control Fishman Island. Maybe an evil merman/ fishman stronger than Jimbei, awaiting his time to shine.
-

It will pretty much opens the way for the Strawhats fighting some bad guys there resulting in Luffy declaring Fishman Island to be his territory at the end.
-
mmmh Luffy is not the type of guy who is gonna protect an island like whitebeard did, i think. He aspire to a complete freedom, protect a territory from cruel pirates is acting like Marines, that is not what he wants. If someone wants to make chaos on a island, he can do it, Luffy does not care. He only care if that concerns his friends, he can help Jinbei, keimi ect.. during some moments, but not the whole island in declaring "this is my territory" all the time.
-

i doubt oda going to make it that kind of plot. if i was a yonkou and i heard WB died and a rookie made fishman island his territory, i will say: "fuck ya strawhat kid, i aint gonna be afraid of an ant" and obviously attack to conquer it. the same goes for the marines in a different way
-

Unless of course there's more important territory to take over in the New World after Newgate falls. In fact, an island that is taken over by a rookie shouldn't bother an Emperor compared to the islands the other two Emperors might take over in the New World.
Also, there's also the possibility that an Emperor would think sending one affiliated pirate crew would be enough to take over Fishman Island now. If the other Emperors also have lots of subordinate crews like Newgate does. In which case such a NW Pirate crew could be enough of an antagonist for the Strawhat Pirates at Fishman Island but in the bigger picture this would only be the introduction to a saga in which an Emperor would be the main antagonist. Basically, the same plot-line where kicking the asses of the Border Agents at Whiskey Peak lead to taking it out with a Warlord.
-
I think **Poseidon will be at Fishmen island and the mermaid princess job is to protect it.
Trust this will happen**
-

If this happens, I'll write "I'm a little fairy in a pink mini-skirt" and have to endure having it as my signing name for a WEEK on the wikia.
I'm hoping Oda only mentions the name of those weapons and never shows them, least not before the new world or late in OPs storyline.
-
Chaos will return to Fishman Island the likes of which occured before WB gave it his protection. Mermaids & Fish people will be hunted by people who'll sell off in slave auctions etc

I would disagree. Luffy knows about the racism towards Fishman due to Hacchi incident, and I think he would protect the island from that. I agree Luffy is not the kind of person who would care to "own" his own territory, however he would do something like using his name to protect it, in the same way he instigated a fight with Coby to feign them not being allies(in other words, he would do it to deceive people to protect someone or a group of people). Although, even though I think Luffy would due something to protect Fishman Island, I don't think it will be with his name like Whitebeard for two main reasons. 1) Luffy doesn't like to brag, or showboat his power. I can't picture him acting all big and bad claiming someone as his because of his strength, even as a guise. 2) Luffy really doesn't have that kind of authority yet with his name. True, he's a big time rookie with a high bounty and impressive family history, but he's not intimidating enough to scare people from taking Fishman Island when he's not even near it. His crew is far too small to even act like he could enforce such a claim. I however am very hyped about Fishman Island, because it will be a place of adventure, the next big arc after the war, and hopefully around the time we get to see demonstrations of the SH's new abilities/bounties(if not sooner!)

Hey, just this threads name makes me wonder…has the hype for anything in this series ever been unjustified? I mean yeah people make too big a deal of things but most of the time foreshadowed events pay off somehow.
