Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo
-
-
@Don:

As nonsense as nonsense is, usually there is a reason unless its a total WTF moment like this series pulls. Unless I see Ba-baba coming from out of nowhere, killing Tsurulina the Third instantly and starts yelling at his brother, I doubt we're ever going to see him this close to the end.
-
And now, another chapter that really should have taken two or three…
! Somehow outside the first part of Tsurulina World, where you have to survive space itself, I'm a bit dissapointed that its actually Tsurulina the Third's perfect world where everyone is bald. With all the weird worlds in this series, you would have expected something more original from what could be the ultimate boss. But at least we get an extremely powerful/weird attack lead by Don Patch…and what looks like a cliffhanger where Bo-bobo uses King Nosehair to destroy Tsurulina's world! As for next week....well, we'll see. (oh, and I also like the cover with the chibi Pokomi)
-
I saw the dub and they kept the name Rem Yay! I like Rem shes sexy and i like Don Patch ping pong XD
-
I looked at this chapter…. and it seemed kind of all over the place. Yeah, it feels like things are being kind of rushed for the finale.
-
@Cap'n:
I looked at this chapter…. and it seemed kind of all over the place. Yeah, it feels like things are being kind of rushed for the finale.
The chapter really should have been three:
! 1. Pt. 1 of Tsurulina World, where they have to survive in space and at least get down to Earth…only to arrive on an Earth that's bald and everyone a Hair Hunter.
2. Pt. 2 of Tsurulina World, where Bo-bobo and allies have to survive pretty much an onslaught of the bald alongside Tsurulina, maybe with tons of cameos among...um, bald zombies?
3. The Baka World part, where Tsurulina and Namero get punished, ending with the ending of this week's chapter.
! The stupidest part of the chapter is that the world really isn't that threatening....its just Tsurulina's ideal come to life. (though his original ideal, according to the first fight, was the extermination of humanity...making everyone bald instead of killing them isn't as bad) If he really wanted to use it to stop Bo-bobo and the others, he would have done something that I would equate to an evil version of "Bo-bobo World" or even "Majide Time". (perhaps the only villain to best manipulate an alternate dimension is Rem..and even then it was her dreams and not really an alternate reality) -
Well, there was also Shigeki X.
-
@Cap'n:
Well, there was also Shigeki X.
Shigeki X's ability was the actual creation of a dimension to trap an opponent inside and pretty much kill them. What I'm talking about is a magnitude attack where everyone, good and evil, is teleported and forced to play by the rules of whoever controls the world. (as I said, Bo-bobo World) Though with the last several weeks and comparing it to the likes of Shigeki X and Bi-bibi, I pine back to the first Tsurulina the Third fight, where he actually appeared threatening.
-
Before I start this week's manga summary, let me just say that last night's Bo-bobo episode was probably one of the funniest dub efforts in a long while! Sure they're all sort of funny, but somehow last night's was more A-game. And now, without further ado…
! Most of this chapter seems to be dedicated to stopping Namero and proving that he's not Tsurulina the Fifth like he believes. Tsurulina the Third transfers his power to Namero, but Bo-bobo got several extremely impressive attacks this time around. (including Saint Seiya…with Torpedo Girl as Athena, Bo-bobo attacking as OVER and an Ouendan parody) As for pacing...I debate whether this chapter works better as one or two, but its still a great chapter and is working its way towards the finale.
-
And new chapter this week
! Namerô seems to come back to his senses and Bobobo finally beats Third…his "hair heart" flies to a far away tomb and..Hydrato comes back to life!(this seems like a joke, I don´t think he´s going to come back as a villain)
-
I read Shinsetsu Bobobo is going to end in the next issue, please tell me this isn't true >< (Though, unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised).
Also, did anyone other than me notice the Houshin Engi reference? (It was that, right?).
-
This is such a strange series, but I like what I've seen so far. Anyone have a site where scans are available, or torrents, or whatever?
Oh, and question of the day: If Jati uses Fist of the Icy Straight Man, why doesn't Beauty use Fist of the Flaming Gay Woman?
-
Welp, looks like next week's the end. It's been a nice ride, gents.
@Fire Fist:
Oh, and question of the day: If Jati uses Fist of the Icy Straight Man, why doesn't Beauty use Fist of the Flaming Gay Woman?
If you tried to be funny there, you thoroughly failed.
And if you didn't, you're just dumb.

It wasn't Hydrate brought back to life, it was Bibibi-bi Bi-bibi. With the Third finally destroyed, Bi-bibi's Hair Ball was brought back to its rightful owner. (though I was extremely shocked to see both Wandering Tofu and Shigeki X still there…even Bird of Paradise, who seemed to kill himself way back is still there!) Other than that, it was an extremely impressive chapter.
I was going to hold off on this until a bit later, but I finally got Shinsetsu 2-4 yesterday (meaning for one thing I can finally fix a few things on Wiki some of the others put in that were not true...though I still need vol. 5 & 6 for what will probably complete the series) And looking back in perspective prior to next week's series finale, I'm beginning to wonder if this is was Sawai wanted in the first place. Looking at some of the characters and situations that happened prior to the 23rd Ward battle, some of it was probably bound to happen. (for starters, if Babuu was already stopped during their fight with Heppokomaru, then it makes sense for Hiiragi to crush him and take his spot in Tsurulina's Daioh) Yes, some things the last couple months obviously shows that he was rushing to a finale, but at the same time he was still able to complete the series (well, next week he will) under his rules and without screwing anything up. (though one thing I love at the end of this week's chapter: the three masked guys from the Nine Experts are derobing off camera complaining they never got a chance to fight...pure Sawai humor there...if those guys and the two who fought Bo-bobo just after the Namero fight got a chance during this arc, then maybe it would have been more complete than it was)
All we can do now is wait to see the big finish. Hopefully everyone gets...well some sort of conclusion.

Just wondering, for chapter 71, what is Pokomi's connection to Namero? She tried to prevent Heppokomaru from attacking him.
-
I heard the series is getting more along the lines of being cancelled instead of ending. I hope to God it doesn't become a Shaman King ending.
-
Just wondering, for chapter 71, what is Pokomi's connection to Namero? She tried to prevent Heppokomaru from attacking him.
Pokomi and Namero were classmates at an academy created by Tsurulina the Third used to train and create a new generation of Hair Hunters. The two were the top-ranked in the school…and although it seemed more like Pokomi was latching on to Namero, somehow she's one of the only people that Namero doesn't see as "a tongue".
As for the ending...it does appear slightly like a cancellation, but since a lot of things have been covered, then it could also be interpreted as an ending. Maybe its just a hybrid of both.
-
I consider it to be kind of like a cancellation, but they were decent enough to let Sawai wrap things up and give the series a proper conclusion.
My consolation is the fact that it looks like Blue Dragon's getting the axe as well.
-
Bobobo-bo and Blue Dragon are ending next week! :(,I hate to see Bobobo-bo coming to a end It's the greatest series that i ever seen
-
Well BD doesn't end next week, the week after.
-

Bo-bobo is next week, Blue Dragon the week after actually.
All I want to see next week is something more conclusive than pt. 1. Yes, it was extremely tidy outside the whole "Tsurulina has Bi-bibi's Hair Ball" part, but I guess I want something else other than "Bo-bobo wanders into the sunset"…but hey, considering this series is first and foremost a "Fist of the North Star" parody, it would be appropriate I guess.
-
Blue dragon is ending?! Thank god.
-
Bobobo manga ending? :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:
Anyways, in the latest dub episode, I think I've heard REM call Hanpen by the name General Lee Fishcake. Geez, and people thought Combat Blues to Major Minor was bad? I could stand Major Minor's name change since I don't expect him to show up again anytime soon but I KNOW Hanpen's returning and with a name like General Lee Fishcake? Not only does that sound like a mouthful to say but he doesn't even look like General Lee. I'm guessing the name change came from the fact that he has a southern accent?
-
How are they going to fit the mouth movements for 'Hanpen' with the words 'General Lee Fishcake'? I guess they could call him 'Fishcake' for short, but they could have just stuck with Hanpen, since it's easy enough to pronounce in English. Still, it's (somewhat) better than Ukijin TOKIO (with the 'Tokio' being written in English on his character introduction-thing) being called "Not-Nice Cream." I thought that was a bad name even before I knew what his original name was.
On the topic of the manga, was the attack that Bo-bobo used to kill Tsuru Tsurulina the incredibly-weak armpit chop that he used way back in the Gunkan arc?
-

Yes it was. After several more powerful attacks, Bo-bobo stopped Tsurulina the Third with the same "arm chop" he used against Death Mask. (sort of makes me happy no one made a tier list for this series on NF)
-
Speaking of Hanpen… where's he been for the past few weeks? We saw him block the Third's card attack, but after that and him in a group shot he kind of... disappeared.
-
Meh…its like they just wanted to concentrate on all the "main characters" of the series so they got rid of Hanpen early. Not really as team-intensive as the Hydrate finale, I guess.
And speaking of MIA characters in this arc, I think I finally came to a revelation on Gaoh due to my recent purchases. Unfortunately he sort of got lost in the shuffle due to all the other characters, both old and new, that were used in this series. While he had great promise as being "a third powerful Wiggin" in the intro and early arcs, he seemed to slowly dissapate into "semi-unused mascot" status as all of the other characters started reappearing. Somehow I wish Gaoh got treated better later (moreso in the 23rd Ward arc, but he started to dissapear moreso starting about the Pokomi battle due to Tennosuke rejoining) but ultimately he proved himself...well a bit more useful than Dengaku Man but still merely a mascot character.

Bobobo manga ending? :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:

I hope Sawaii gets started on a new manga in the future. I've always enjoyed his art style and I don't want him to disappear into obscurity after just one manga series.
-
The WSJ preview on the web site has revealed the cover of the final chapter…and its a really nice cast pic of all the main characters. (including Pickles...for some reason, and even Hanpen made the cut) That just makes me want to get that chapter even more.
-
Shinsetsu Vol. 5 cover…
Beauty fanservice…not bad.
-
If you can call that "fanservice."
How do I find the WSJ preview on the site? Navigating that hellhole was always a pain for me.
-
@Cap'n:

Its Beauty…its lucky we even get that.

Once the page loads, go to the arrow with the "Jump cover with a question mark on it" and click it. On Thursdays through Saturday (or was it Sunday), it shows the cover page of all the cover manga. The Bo-bobo series finale is the third entry after Mx0 and Claymore.

Shinsetsu Vol. 5 cover…

Beauty does look cute on the new cover
-
Pedophile.
16 anti-loli characters.
-
-
Tits like that don't come standard on lolis. It's an upgrade.
-
You mean the term "hyper-loli" doesn't apply to your avatar? How old is she?
-
I think the evidence of HEATXZ being a pedophile far outweigh the evidence of ninjuichi (thought he's a weird perv) being one.
-
Well the final chapter is out…even as the newest dub episode is airing:
! OK, its one of those "life goes on" endings, but I found it extremely satisfying. Beauty and Heppokomaru go off together (and Beauty explains she stayed with Bo-bobo because she loved Hajike after all), Tennosuke faces the wrath of all the "former" Maruhage villains (the real ones, not the former ones…and OVER is there, not Torpedo Girl), we find out the truth of the Kancho, and Bo-bobo rides off into the sunset with a new heroine and those vegetable guys who showed up at the start of the series...to fight peppers. And Don Patch...he just gives the final sign off while wandering around the world he lives in. OK I may say more later but I'm happy with where this ended.
-
Yeah, that was pretty satisfying.
And sadly, that's probably the most fitting conclusion for Tennosuke.
-
@Cap'n:

The problem is who the heck's gonna beat him up first? He only really faced half of the Heavenly Kings for one thing!
-
Oh yeah, they never explained what happened to Hanpen and Pokomi… oh well.
-
This post is deleted!
-
@Cap'n:
Oh yeah, they never explained what happened to Hanpen and Pokomi… oh well.
Now that I think about it, nothing was mentioned of what happened to anyone from Shinsetsu. Pokomi and Gaoh just vanished and Namero wandered off into the sunset last week. For all we know, this ending actually fits as the real ending of pt. 1 and Shinsetsu could have never happened…heck, outside the Kancho family (and Beauty/Heppokomaru's part), there is no suggestions whatsoever of anything that happened post-Giga! Its as if this was the original ending Sawai had planned yet couldn't use until now...
-
Haha, Tennosuke's going to get owned soon enough.
Oh yeah, they never explained what happened to Hanpen and Pokomi… oh well.
It was better than the anime's ending, that's for sure.
-

It's good that Bobobo-bo got a good ending :)
-
Despite the disappearance of a few characters (what happened to Ga-oh?!?!), this was a very good ending for the series. No regrets here.
-
At least Dengakuman didn't make the cut either.
-
@Cap'n:
At least Dengakuman didn't make the cut either.
He should have also been at the Maruhage reunion…but I guess everyone wanted Tennosuke and Tennosuke alone. (considering he went from a rather high block leader to Wiggin warrior for most of the series)
-
