I'm trying to make a One piece RPG using RPG Maker 2k3.
It starts out kind of bad though because I didn't understand how to use ir
at first. Anyway I woulod like to get face sets, character sprites and battle sprites that have One Piece Characters. The ones that I'm using look nothing like the characters except for two that could pass for Sanji and Vivi. I would make some but I'm not THAT good with computers. I also need to download more music from other sources. I added music from some Square-Enix rpg's from the Blue Laguna Website. They were MIDI's though that I could play on my Windows media player. When I went back later they were all Mp3's that played on realplayer and Itunes. They wouldn't play on the RPG Maker. I also need to put a movie on there that features One Piece. Possibly the openings
songs and some fight scenes. Lastly I need to find out hoe to put a game on the internet. Even though it's far from finished. I also need to know where to put it. Would appreciate the help.

Go talk to my friends at http://www.lrpgm.com. Tell 'em "Drake Christopher Dragon" sent you.
-
Thanks, but no one seems to be answering. You could take a look if you
want. It's under the Rpgmaker2k3 section. My name is The Baddest Juggernaut. -
If you need sprites I love sdb.drshnaps.com and depending on if you want 8 or 16 bit…well if you don't mind 8-bit they have some pretty sweet sprites(looks awesome for 8-bit) in the Jump Super/Ultimate Stars(JSS and it's sequel JUS are in the DS section) then check it out. Might find what you are looking for.
-
Thanks again but every time I try to import one of their sprites it says invalid
color depth or invalid image size. -
Have you actually, you know, saved them to your computer, or are you trying to take them straight off the internet somehow?
Try opening the sprites in Photoshop, and saving them as a valid file and try again. That may fix it.
-
Did that and…...nothing. Do you know another site?
-
Well, then I guess I'll help you myself, then. :|
First, you need a source. Generally, people just rip from ROMs and stuff, so get a good OP game you like and get a ROM for it to rip the sprites. Follow the format of the RTP that comes with RM2K3, though I'd recommend RM2K since it's a lot more simple and widespread.
RM2K3 isn't really all that great, but it's got some improvements over RM2K I guess some people might like.
-
Any kindly advice for those of us with RM XP?
-
Thanks but as I said Not THAT good with computers. I got a ROM(Wonderswan) but I can't find a One Piece game. Also, I've heard of what the RTS is but I don't know how to get to it. I don't really know what it exactly does.:wassat: Sorry if I seem too…..noobish.

Advocate at Phylomortis probably has what you need. RTP stands for "Run Time Package", and it's basically the battery to get your game going. Inside the RTP are basic set characters that have the format and such of the kind of graphics you see in-game, so use those dimensions to align your OP characters when you rip them.
There are threads here for ROM requests I believe, I can't tell you more since ROMs aren't my thing anymore.

Any kindly advice for those of us with RM XP?
I used to dabble with RMXP but I eventually gave up because it's too gosh darn hard to use. We have some resources at LRPGM but nothing truely major. Go talk with ccoa at RMXP.org if she's still there, she actually learned Ruby and knows how to use it.

THanks a whole lot…...But a........:getlost: Theres another thing. I was able to change image size for face sets. I just adjusted the size. But how about color depth for sprites? How do I change that?
-
I've never had to mess with any color depth or anything…
What file type is the image on your computer saved as?
You...did save the sprite sheet to your computer, yes?

Depends on what you're using. What's your photo editor called? I used to use Jasc Print Shop Pro for RM2K3 stuff and the colour depth was simply in the drop down from the "colour depth" option.

Ahhhhh RPG Maker, the good ol days, I had 2000, and recall a time when everyone hated 2003. In the end, I only made a couple of demos of games, probably because I grew bored with them in the end and went onto fanfiction projects.
-
I think I had RPG Maker XP…
I stopped because the Door sprites included with the game used up one 1/2 of two tiles, so it was always off... It was frustrating.
-
I've figured it out about color depth. It really meant bit depth.
I could only add 8-bit sprites to the game. It's ok. I've finnally solved my sprite problem…....Now for my music problem......As I said I used to download MIDI's for Windows Media Player. Now all Blue Laguna has is Mp3's. I need to find out where I can find some (Square-Enix) music tha can play on Windows Media Player. I also need a video that can play on 2003. Probably one of the Openings. But I don't know which type of video file I need. -
"Video Game Music Library" is probably what you're looking for. And .avis should play in RM2K3, so if you've got something neat like a .avi from an OP game you can use that as an animated intro.
-
Thanks. This may sound dumb but…. is the Videogame Music Library a thread here or a website? If it's a web site could you please tell me the address?
-
Use Google, if it's a site it'll show up probably.
-
I googled it and still couldn't find it. Also does anyone know where I can find the Jump Ultimate Stars Sprite sheet for Franky. He's the only Straw Hat I don't have.
-
Nope, I've looked a little too.
If you want it that bad you'll probably have to rip it yourself.
-
Problem is…..I don't know how to rip sheets. ......Need Franky Sprites.....
Anyway were is this Video Game Music Library? I tried googling it. I got nothin' helpful. -
Sigh. OCRemix is a good source as well.
Ripping sprites isn't too tough. Get a ROM and take a screenshot of every pose a character makes.
-
Where can I get a D.S Emulator and a ROM for Jump Ultimate Stars?
-
Well still need to find a D.S emulater and a Jump Ultimate Stars ROM Thanks for the music website. nI would like to find more MIDIS from Kingdom Hearts II
P.S.(Almost done with the first part of the RPG. I should post a demo or something…....) -
Also I would like to know if I there is one piece game with sprites for Skypiea characters. And Are there any more sites with sprite sheets?
-
I don't know any reliable, easy to use emulators.
And I've only ever used an Emulator for testing how bad a GBA game was(I knew it'd be bad but I wanted to see if I could rip sprites and edit them for this project, and see how things went) so I'm not experienced.
Besides, it's easiest to use one with a built in frame by frame feature, which will move the game on one sprite at a time. That makes it easy to have an exact, high quality, well ripped sprite.
I'd ask a friend to do it but I already asked him to rip some Gear 2 sprites for me and he doesn't have an emulator or ROM for JUS.

Might want to ask the folks in the JUS thread. :|
